  1. All? My screen is 19" and my computer only cost $ 1250. And I did not buy it to only play MMO's with. I use it for a lot more than gaming. Narrow minded thinking will lead to all kinds of misjudgements.
  2. It is all relative. The rich donot care if the price of gas goes up a buck or two a gallon, because that is chicken feed to them. But the buck or two increase of gas can have a severe impact on some. A lot of the time, the very rich have no clue what it is to struggle and think spending 500 bucks for a purse is nothing. For them it is like what the 1 or 2 drinks cost at a bar.....chicken feed. So even tho 14.99 per month is no issue for me..does not mean it is not for others.
  3. LOTRO does have a sub model and it is 9.99 per month. And Rift..if you sign up for a year's sub, it is 9.99 per month. Most MMO's do charge 14.99 per month because they know they can. But nothing but greed means they have to charge that much. Dropping the subs down to 9.99 per month could be a good move for some. 14.99 to 9.99 only seems to be 5 bucks less....but you add that up over a year's time and it is around 60 bucks. Beleave it or not...but there are plenty of players where 60 bucks in thier pocket instead of a MMO company's, can make a nice difference for them. Maybe some still live at home where all they need to worry about is thier car payment and insurance..but there are a lot in today's economy who do struggle to pay bills and every little extra adds up.
  4. I was that way for about 2 months..then I unsubbed. Silly paying a sub for a game we rarely play.
  5. What does it do the "printscreen and camera angle adjustment " does not do?
  6. Or could be the encounters in GW2 are designed to not need them. Easier.
  7. You mean like Rift does? The only graphic display in the game TOR beats Rift is the up close textures of the player's char's face. The rest, Rift blows TOR out of the water.
  8. This is why as a game designer, you never nerf tank classes. If anything you buff them and give them extra rewards for tanking.
  9. What the....? Sarfux, you have been such a strong supporter for TOR and so intent on your feelings the game was fine as is and would be even more successful in the future...why the turn-around and desire for some major game changes as you propose?
  10. I agree OP. This is just one part of the many parts of "immersion enhances" which are lacking in TOR. Of themselves they may not be that big of a deal for some, but when you put them all together, they have a big impact on the immersion feel many want when they play a MMO.
  11. Allmost everything? Apart from the time line , which would of course have some impact on some differences in technology advances, what is different? Everything which "was" in the movies is not contradicted by the things which are in the game for the most part. Like lightsabers, blaster pistols, Jawa's, Sith, Jedi, speeder bikes, holograms, etc, etc. and even the planets which was named in the movies are not named something different in the game. Or the same species which was in the movies are not different in the game.
  12. Palpatine did not display any physical bad effects yet of the Darkside when he was in the Senate. Later, as the Darkside took more hold of him, it begin to display it's dark reflection on his choices and he could not have hid them even he wanted to , apart from covering it with his hood, which he did a lot. So you see, there are different stages to the Darkside corruption. First comes the impact on your decisions which influrence which choices you will make and then later, those choices become more apparent as they become more engrained into your char. This is what happened to Palpatine.
  13. You cannot kill something which is allready dead anyway.
  14. Odd...I played the closed beta for WoW for 6 months...got my first char to level 60 in the release and started to run other stuff such as MC...and then AQ...ZG and leveling some other alts. I never thought about leaving. There was so much to do in the game. And the game world was so huge..it took me years to see all of the zones..with each designed with abundant life and stuff to do. This was all before TBC came out. But to the OP..you enjoy the game as it is now or you would not sign up for another 6 months. If the new planet adds a level increase and new zone content , along with totally new story driven quests, I fail to see why you would object to having to pay a small fee for it. Your 6 month sub gives you a reduce price for each month, nothing more. And you should not expect anymore than that. I did a 6 month sub originally, canceled and I would like to see more than 150 cartel coins for each month I subbed once they go with the free to play model, but BioWare certainly does not "owe" me more.
  15. Very good post. And you are spot on when comes to the crafting esp. As soon as my char hit level 50, he had zero items he could equip from his professions, even tho all of them was maxed out. Every item he had was better from ether drops, vendors or quest rewards. He could not make a single item which was better...from any of the recipes the professional npc offered atleast.
  16. You was amoung the few who liked how the pvp was done in Silithus. With the parts being intregrated with-in a mostly PVE zone. Most I knew did not like it. They wanted the PVP to be out of a zone they would be running around in doing PVE content. Thus one of the reasons later Blizz went with seperate PVP zones such as Wintergrasp. I am refering to a PVE server however. I am sure those on PVP servers had no issue with it.
  17. Filter? What kind of filter? I have no such filter that I am aware of and rarely have any disconnect issues. Unless you are refering to a surge protector for your cable line?
  18. Yes, you was one of the few who liked the way Slithus was set up...lol. Most did not do Wintergrasp ether. In fact..I remember reading the forums back when TBC was out, Blizz stated only about 30% of thier player base pvp'ed on a regular bases. The majority of the players are PVE oriented in WoW atleast.
  19. The forums is like the railway station..with a entertainment center in it.. ( forums ). Going to stay here until they make me leave or the free tickets are passed out for the next train...the Free to Play express special.
  20. Lol. Actually the Empire is well organized from a civilized point of view. They just happen to be more tyranical in dealing with the subjects under them. So if anything..they would be more inclined to enforce such a law more swiftly.
  21. Speeders should not even be allowed on the Fleet. It is bit like the logic of allowing people to speed around on motorbikes in Malls. No civilized goverment would allow such a thing.
  22. The reason there are more logins now versus June 27th, is because of the transfers. Players who had not been playing much started to transfer and then begin to play more often after that date. But even that chart...shows a steady, but small decline each month in logins sence July 16th. And if what I have read is true...that is 10% of the players logon during a given time, that would mean the players playing now are in the 333 - 334k range. Far below what it was back in say Feb of this year. Personally I think the sub numbers are below the 500k even, now the 6 month subs are over.
  23. Good point. You just mentioned one of the many reasons I unsubbed. The Rak invasion comes to mind to show one example. It is not 99% off from the movies however. Do not exaggerate when trying to make a point. Some parts are and the more there is..the more it is un-Star Wars for some.
  24. The big difference is....BioWare does not need to set us free. We allready have that choice as a consumer. GW2 will affect many other MMO's. Not as much as a sub base one would as they have no sub model. So you can still stay subbed to one MMO and play it too. However, for myself, I cannot justify a sub if I am not going to be playing it very often.
  25. I would have no problem with a char having the last title they got...and also...titles are usually given by those who are associated with that person and when they are around them. If you met the president of a country out in the wilds and a normal town and he was not surrounded with guards and you had no clue who he was...would you still address him as "Mr. President"? On the golf course , around those I played with and knew me, I was refered to as "Tone". It is not my name and noone outside the golf club I belonged to used it. It was a title they used on me for thier own reasons. I never have cared about titles in games anyway and in them usually have them all shut off.
