  1. not long at all. use dem cluster missiles dude. my main point of mentioning the star guard is their use of the ion lasers not to compare the other lasers.
  2. This is my main use for them. They are especially useful when fighting on satellites where you need those extra degrees to actually hit your target.
  3. I can see your point about discrepancies with long range fighting, however if this is your mode of attack you are not utilizing this ship properly. The Starguards best build is flown mid to close range. With faster, albeit weaker weapons. Their is a lot of upside to heavy lasers and concussion missiles. But it's the little pews that are most effective. No matter what your primary blaster choice is, having it paired with ion lasers is the absolute must with the fighter. Just a couple of hits allows you to work against a ship missing it's primary source of damage mitigation. So use those heavies, use them all day and I can't contest with you that they are effective, but use them proceeding your ions to absolutely be able to rock this ship
  4. who says you need to pair up rapids, with heavies? Use the ions to knock out shields and rapids to melt hull. Rapids are extremely useful for finishing off opponents due to their extremely generous firing arc. ion lasers rapid lasers cluster missiles barrel roll quick charge shield large reactor power thruster range or damage capacitor munitions or power pool extender this is the build that will allow you top of the match DPS paired with survivability to unimpeededly dominate your opponents.
  5. The Ion Laser is the ships money maker and people never seem to use it.
  6. an ion laser with heavy/quad laser combo paired with cluster missiles are absolutely devastating against any ship. You can burn your opponents down in seconds.
  7. A lot of people seem to be QQing about bombers and flashfires, not to mention the neverending butthurtedness about gunships. But I see that the starguard/rycer gets absolutely no love, or hate. A well built Strike Fighter easily has the best balance between high dps and survivability. Not to mention they are hands down the best shield eaters in the game (argue with me that ion rails are better, but I find their accuracy highly unreliable and only useful for their spammable qualities). So lets get some love for the true starfighter, a team friendly, kill hungry Starguard.
  8. 60% evade is stupidly overpowered still. The only way that doesn't enhance your survivability is if you derp it up and think that sitting still to shoot a target coming straight at you is a bright idea. Take those 15k points and put them into something else that won't help you live as long.
  9. Oh that makes total sense now, It's always a pleasure/hassle to play against you, Lormaru, etc. and I certainly focus my targets while flying against you guys. I never fly premade as a pub, and only two ship it when zonri is on. A cordial awareness of skilled opponents always makes for a better GSF match, I look forward to the challenge.
  10. hardly average I'm not going to list my accolades to be considered an ace, I'll save that for another thread, but I'd gladly fly against you're imp team any day, and by any day, I mean sunday - wednesday. It is nice to see the quality of imp players improve. It was real bad there for way too long. Whose your toon? Would you consider yourself an Ace? -Ilsilud (Ajora)
  11. sad but true. imps overall, besides the talented and dedicated pilots I can count on 1 hand, at least on my server (The Shadowlands) are el terible at gsf. If a pub finishes with a 1-0 13k line I'd say they need to go back to the tutorial level. Maybe I should've flew imp to get all my chievs...
  12. Guys you have to realize that the power given to gunships is due the fact that they need to be stationary to inflict damage. Make them mobile, they are vastly underpowered. Stop complaining about how strong they are, I regularly do more damage than a gunship would using a star guard or flash fire.
  13. The biggest issue with gunships is not their rail gun damage. It's not even the fact that their ion cannon can shred your weapon and energy pool. It's their aoe effect on their ion damage. As an experienced flier I find it rather easy to take on a couple of gunships with my flash fire, which by the way is where most of your OP complaints should be directed, it's when I'm near an inexperienced flier who has know idea how to avoid a gunships shot. Him getting hit completely debuffs me, renderering both of us as sitting ducks. I'll just say the more experienced you get at flying the less of an issue you'll find gunships to be.
  14. Pub: Ilsilud (Starguard, Flashfire), Raz'seph (NovaDive) Imp: Ajöra (gunship) I've had the privilege, of flying with or against most you guys and would like to consider myself equally awesome http://i.imgur.com/TLzgvcK.jpg flawless win http://i.imgur.com/HZI4LnB.jpg http://i.imgur.com/E81FjLi.jpg
  15. There isn't an issue with the way req is earned via domination mode. Your objectives for the match are to capture and protect your satellites, hence capping a satellite will give the most requisition. If you have 3-4 caps in a match you are almost certain to break 1000. I'm sure requisition distribution will vary by game mode once new modes will be released, but since its only domination for now, do your best to dominate. The only issue is if you are too good, your opponents can't uncap your satellites, costing you precious capture medals
