  1. It’s been literal years, when can this be addressed. I feel that even when certain components are selected the effect isn’t applied. I’ve run the exact same build and have seen very obvious discrepancies in speed and maneuvering

  3. It used to be far worse in terms of leveling ships. Everything cost twice as much and requisition grants were not as easy to come by. Objectively speaking though, it is possible to get kills with a vanilla ship, BUT only after developing a comfortable skill set. Going against gunships going 28-0 (see above) during an introductory round of gsf can be quite deflating I bet. However stick to it, the more you fly and familiarize with maps and ship components the better it will get. As a personal suggestion start with the star guard / rycer and replace rapids with ion cannons after your first match. With absolutely nothing upgraded, this will give you an already formidable offensive output and enough survivability to gain your footing in space combat
  4. I was a healer as well. One of the people I had run with noted that they hadn’t faced this issue on previous encounters. It makes me think it’s an intermittent issue that varies by instance. We were getting absolutely hammered 240+K In 1.5 sec despite being no where near eachother.
  5. We had this same issue!!!! I never did master before so I didn’t know how it’s supposed to function but she was literally melting the group in less than 2 seconds. I wonder, is this an instance by instance basis, or a bug for everyone running the fp?

  8. Excuse us all for playing the worlds smallest violin orchestra. Gunships were OP. end of story. Now they are more balanced. If you can't deal with that, play a different ship. gunships are snipers, snipers just don't sit in open space and pick off targets. Find cover, which every map of GSF sufficiently provides, and you will have ample survivability, and more than decent offensive production. Also the Barrel Roll nerf affects every ship not just gunships, so if you land just a single ion rail on a ship, there is a good chance that ship is going to be toasted as it floats uselessly through open space...

  11. you can. If you go to your key bindings menu in preferences there is a whole different tab for gsf key bindings

Well, I'm not advocating for competive disadvantage, I borderline never fly premade, hate gunship lines and despise the practice of turtling and spawn camping, however I do take the same enjoyment out of seeing a highly productive personal output and a greater disparity of scores as much as I would a close match. Those games that aren't so close work as great opportunity to fly ships other than the one I'm currently trying to master to bust out an way daily req bonus. I'm not a monster for wanting to win every match I play.
  13. When did playing to win become a negative thing? I love winning. Its awesome. I get my dailies/weeklies done and a boatload more requisition for doing so. I'm sorry that this is in spite of those who haven't quite grasped the learning curve yet. And i'm going to be completely honest, those blowouts you may think are boring are really not... and I'm sure a lot of you would share those sentiments if asked to be completely truthful.
  14. Player skill matters more than anything. Upgrades may boost your capabilities, but having the knowledge of how to fly, where to shoot, and how to effectively avoid direct hits is the most major component to success against failure and starfighter. Instead of people trying to upgrade one component at a time, put 1 or 2 upgrades per set and you will fly loads better at an extremely affordable cost.
  15. Here's an idea: 1. Turn capital ship turrets back on. However, also add a desertion dot to retreating players as a method of preventing the gun and run mentality plaguing a large amounts gunships. 2. The biggest problem with spawn hunting is the fact that te derpness among flyers is strong as there are way to many people who do not know you can change spawn location. The easiest method to deter spawn hunting is to determine default spawn location for pilots determined by active location of enemy ships (a la call of duty style)
  16. Reduced requisition for DO? I haven't heard of that. As far as I knew, I thought you got extra req for kills and assists while using power ups, as outlined in the detailed endgame report
  17. 1. Gunships are lazy. 2. The reason why you died in one shot is the damage overcharge, it has nothing to do with the patch. You were probably just lucky enough to not get targeted prior to this experience. 3. Not considering other ships for contention, especially a flashfire, which is more than capable of dodging and taking down gunships, is ridiculous. I'm so sick of playing matches where half the players are gunships just slugging around spawns waiting for people to get close. The worst part about this is that those teams almost never win. Learn to fly, and we would all benefit from this.
  18. Its not about realism of infinite ammo, its about competitive advantage and strategic usage. Not to mention they'd have to completely change the tier system of clusters as some of them swap lower capacity for higher dps. Capacity extenders would also be rendered useless. It would be an unnecessary overhaul.
  19. What kind of secret tactics are you guys doing over there? I didn't realize there was one defined way to win matches in starfighter. If you know someone has an idea of what your game plan is, switch up your game plan.
  20. What's so difficult with using a barrel roll to counter act the barrel rolling gunship?
  21. I run out of clusters virtually every domination match I play. Why should I have to die to replenish my ammo. There are hardly any bombers that have the ammo regen, and even when they are on I'd have to hunt down their repair drones. It may not be completely necessary but having a more mobile support class would be a cool new feature that I would love to play.
  22. a medic/engineer support strike fighter would be pretty baller IMO. I don't think they'd rule out more support classes in the future as its something that would make GSF more dynamic and entertaining.
  23. This is literally the exact opposite of everyone else's gripes with GSF. 1. Ion rails by no means need a buff to damage. They function exactly, if not too efficiently, as planned. They absolutely shred shields as well as debuff engines to the point of crippling. They are meant as an opener not as a kill shot. 2. Selfish players not using bombers or gunships?? I would like to know what server you're queuing on because a majority of players would say otherwise. Usually it's an over abundance of these two ships that turn a match into a one dimensional fun sponge. I am one of those job are in the minority in terms of ship balance, as I see no clear reason to overhaul any ship one way or another. Maps, and game modes will come, be patient hear things take time to be developed and tested for equal playing grounds per faction. I can see your point with drones and mines, however I do think their issues lie solely on the fact that they are new mechanics to the game. Offensively speaking, just several hundred meters for a strategically placed mine is the difference between one that factors into your dps leaderboard and one that gets blown out of the sky. As for drone accuracy, the best way to avoid them is to destroy them. They have long CDs so take them out and obliterate their sender.
  24. no problem, thats the purpose of discussion. I can tolerate their one dimensional nature as they are probably the only high production ship that won't get hit with a nerf bomb any time soon
