So when the devs say they are redoing the hardware what do they mean by that? I took it as a new game engine with new graphics as it is time for that. But it is a little farfetched. So please tell me what they mean by this.

 

The game engine is software, not hardware, and is not something that can simply be 'changed' for a new one.

Yeah, because after the huge success of this one, EA is just desperate to throw another 300+ million at developing a game for a failing genre with a rapidly evaporating/impossible to satisfy player base.

 

That's much easier than just milking the playerbase it has for the time being until it eventually fizzles out.
