  1. And not to mention, it's less cartoony than WoW. No joke, my first reaction when I got on the game was, "MY GUY HAS WRISTS! WRISTS!"
  2. In other words- Do your research, if the environment were entirely destructible, then what would we have left after the first week of gaming? Not to mention EA. They took a huge risk to voice-act every single NPC in the game, and another big risk to put so much emphasis on the story, which no MMO has really successfully done to date, but to use a system that isn't for MMOs, and would probably kill 80% of computers out there, would be suicide, not innovation.
  3. Jedi = suppressing emotion in order to gain strength Sith= Use emotion to gains strength But who says it must be hate and rage and fury? Why can't it be compassion and mercy that drives you? That's how I view Light Side Sith anyhow, not giving in to hate and rage, but instead letting the good emotions give them their strength.
  4. Ugnaughts, Ewoks and Rattaki and my personal least favorites. Ugnaughts sound horrid, Ewoks are just plain dumb, and Rattaki just never did it for me.
  5. Me and my Dad made a Jedi Knight, Mirilian, Body Type 4 named Fubba. It was hilarious. My favorite thing though, was him being invited into Satele Shan's room, and we were joking about how she "digs him". So when she was done talking, kneeled down and began to glow again, I did a /flex in front of her. I think she liked it. That, and the "You talk stupid" option when talking to a quest giver always gets me.
  6. I slapped a random player. Okay, not really, but I plan to one of these days.
  7. Professional bounty hunters shouldn't keep their pistol that close to them long enough for him to grab his pistol in the first place. He failed as a Bounty Hunter in that regard. Just saying.
  8. The Republic is more like the USA, where they have a number of somewhat autonomous states under a single federal government, they elect their overall leadership, and you can become a state in it either by being a sovereign nation and voting to join it and being approved (Texas, Vermont), being forcibly annexed (Hawaii) or by being a territory and being approved to become a state (Alaska). Just like the Republic. So the Clone Wars pretty much equals the American Civil War, where the Confederacy (both of them) opened fire on the Union/Republic first, and started the war themselves. As such, it was fully within the nation's right to react as they did, by your logic. Even if they didn't attack, it would have been a-okay to march soldiers in there to retake control hopefully without bloodshed, but after the first shots were fired, all bets were off.
  9. It's an MMO. Trolling is a time-honored tradition of MMOs.
  10. I almost managed to do it without actually training. But then I ran into the story area "strong" mobs. That's when I knew something was up. It's not too hard, you just have to do it right.
  11. I'd also say that kidnapping Jedi Knights and forcing them to duke it out in an arena, with the intended results of killing them is a legitimate cassus belli, wouldn't you agree?
  12. "You know what, we are going to secede and take half of your money, a large portion of your armed forces and a signification fraction of your entire industry, but because you are democratically elected, there is nothing you can do about it. Cheerio!" Would work out so much better. Ever heard of the American Civil War? Or better yet.. "We are going to secede, but before we do, we are going to kill all of your soldiers nearby, and blast apart your space ships. You can't do anything about it, because you are a democracy. Peace out N00Bi3z."
  13. I never really knew that casual meant that. If the OP meant casual like that, why would he add it to the guide? Those who do not want to learn wouldn't read a guide to learn would they? I consider myself a casual as in, I don't invest the majority of my time to it.
  14. Basically, casuals meaning people who don't necessarily invest a lot of time in it and may not fully understand all of the terms and quirks. Good guide by the way!
  15. If they're more worried about their immersion being broken than helping a guy out, then that's their issue, not yours.
  16. I really don't know what to say. I will admit that I have skipped some side-quest lines for the sake of getting on with my class quests/next companion, but to be honest, it's rare. I am personally excited about seeing how my different actions and responses effect their reactions.
  17. The way I see it, Bioware made it so that if you don't want people going around saying they're you, you could turn on the legacy name for your toons so that people can tell whether or not it's you. And if they are ever confronted, and they know you have a legacy name, they can just demand they turn it on for a few seconds. You would do that to prove it's you right?
  18. Who honestly has except those who just rush to the endgame, skipping the actual focus of the game, that is the immersive story. I find it hilarious, it's like playing a game focused on PvP and being frustrated over the PvE content. But the thing is, this game has just been released, hardly ANYONE is at level 50, not to mention, they said themselves that they would be constantly working on the game and that it is, in their own words, never done. So I would imagine they'd focus on the endgame when you know, everyone's there... Until expansions came about, all WoW had at it's endgame were PvP and wiping over and over until you got it right with 40-man raids. It wasn't until 3 expansions later that you had so much more to do. In other words: Let the game and it's developers take it's time, it will result in a higher-quality product in the end rather than just rushing
  19. The fact that the #1 issue on your list is chat bubbles worries me.
  20. My Trooper is level 23 and is light side 1, but for all intents and purposes could be called "grey". He will follow his orders if he feels they will advance the cause of the Republic, and is willing to disobey direct orders if he feels they are unjust. Most of his DS points come from killing surrendered Imperial Agents.
  21. Your ship's droid can heal. Just saying... Nah, I'd like this too, though it wouldn't make sense for some classes. (I know you are a part of my squad and all, but you just refused to flirt with me, so I keel you.)
  22. She's okay, once she stops listing off protocols and rules, I think I will like her.
  23. So I noticed this a while ago, when I watched the prequels, but learning of KotOR and pre-that lore has only strengthened my theory that the Galactic Empire/Republic's history is based off of that of Ancient Rome. I will go in chronological order. 1. Great Hypserspace War = First Punic War Rome makes contact with Carthage, and decide it is a threat to Roman existence, and declare war, taking control of Sicily, Sardinia and Corsica. The Republic makes contact with the Sith, who decide that the Republic is a threat and declare war, results in the Republic nearly wiping out Sith existence. 2. Great Galactic War = Second Punic War The Carthagians return under a new leader and nearly destroy Rome, but Rome turns it around and ends up defeating Carthage at Zama. The Republic is surprised by the Sith Empire's return and are nearly destroyed, but are only able to turn the tables enough to get an undesirable peace treaty. Saved from destruction. 3. Presumed third war with Empire = Third Punic War The Romans destroy Carthage, end of Punic Wars. The Republic and Empire go to war again, we do not know what happens at the end of the war, but it is presumed the Empire is destroyed, just as the Republic destroyed Carthage. 4. Republic becomes inefficient It becomes apparent to both Rome and the Galactic Republic that their system is not working as it should. 5. Clone Wars = Series of Civil Wars A number of Civil Wars of people trying to gain power begins. The Clone Wars begin, pitting the rebellious Confederacy against the Galactic Republic. 6. Julius Caesar/Palpatine seizes Emperor Title In the midst of chaos and a non-functioning republic ruled by bureaucrats, a leader seizes power and becomes the Emperor of the known world/galaxy. 7. Empires collapse, pretender Empires rise The Galactic and Roman Empires end up collapsing, and resulting in a number of other nations claiming to be reincarnations of the Empire. (RL examples, Constantinople, Lombard Kings, Moscow or the "Third Rome".) Just some speculation, I think it's interesting when one looks at it.
