  1. How can you post something so DEFINITE when you have no actual numbers to back up this claim? I think you are SORELY mistaken about PT DPS, but I wouldnt make any drastic claims becasue none of us have any actual data to compare it against.
  2. There is a huge lack of understanding on what the ability delay is and how it differs from what a lot of people in this thread are discussing. Ability stutters are not what they fixed. Mounting and cast times and their subsequent lack of sync were not fixed. Stuck abilities are not what they fixed. They fixed the delay between your key press and how your character reacts to that key press and nothing more. There is an enormous improvement (although not 100%). If you do not realize the improvement you likely did not perceive the problem in the first place, or you are mistaking it for something else.
  3. I agree with everything you have said here. My comment on a lack of intuition was not directed at you in any way. It was directed at the astounding number of people claiming that this was not fixed because they can replicate the "mounting then moving bug" (discussed in many other threads) which obviously has nothing to do with the delay we are discussing. I did not mean to sound as if I was content, or selling short, but this is only because I am so surprised at the drastic improvement I am seeing today with the fix implemented. I expect (hope) that they will not stop until we do indeed get delay that is not percievable to even the most experienced gamers. To be honest, when I saw the patch notes stating that they had a fix, I did not expect anything. I expected to log on today only to play and feel physically exhausted after playing several hours in a game of quicksand. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. This has given me a lot of hope for the future of this game.
  4. Xcore, I have been following this thread since the very first post. I think everyone appreciates what you have done here, you have an uncanny was of articulating things. That being said, I was a multiglad (6 seasons) and raided in a top 25 world guild (Overrated, Korgath - the horde version of the guild Death and Taxes). This delay made the game unplayable for me. I came on today and I must say that many people in this thread are not giving them enough credit for how drastic this improvement is. The actual DELAY is feeling about 90% better for me. I have been able to vanish instantly all but ONE time in about four hours of WZ's. The animation problems, however, have not been addressed, nor has Bioware said they have been addressed, and I think people are lacking the intuition to realize the difference between the DELAY that was fixed today and the obvious and glaring problems with animations that has absolutely nothing to do with today's fix. In fact, the entire game feels more fluid. When I click on an interractable object it works instantly, I do not have to wait half a second for me to interract with an object on the ground. The next step for them is to fix the animations. The most glaring problem (as discussed) is twofold. 1. Animations are not matching cast times 2. Abilities that have conditionals (for example, "behind target" for backstab/maul or snipe which requires you to be in cover) needs to have their check from client to server on keypress, not in the middle of the animation. This is the reason why backstab does not work when you hit the ability if your enemy faces you immediately, or why sniping immediately after goign into cover doesnt work. The client and the server do not communicate until you are actually in cover or until right before you extend your arm for the stab. Again, thanks for all the hard work on this.
  5. How did this become an issue of system specs? It sounds like the op is talking about "responsiveness". The game is horrendously unresponsive and everyone has been complaining. Look for the ability delay thread, or better yet look at the sticky at the very top of the forum. Don't say the game is responsive for you, it is not. This has been discussed to an endless degree already
  6. This happens to me all the time and it is absolutely maddening. I DO believe it has to do with what has been discussed in the ability delay thread (I brought it up several times myself, and I believe that quite a few people mentioned it in that thread) It does the same thing with plenty of abilities (acid blade for one, although not as delayed, as it usually fires within a second or so).
  7. I think one of the many issues ( I am no expert) is that the client is checking for conditions ( range, behind target etc.) at the point where the animation is supposed to go off. Not when the ability is clicked. If I use corrosive dart on my operative and then turn away after the animation has already started, I will get the "not facing target " error even though I was clearly facing the target when I pressed the key.
  8. I think the delay got infinitely worse with the patch when I thought they said there was going to be some kind of fix today? On my operative or my assassin my vanish/evasion/cloak work about 10% of the time. It is getting stuck for 15+ seconds and is completely unusable.
  9. I cannot take anyone that uses "you're" the wrong way seriously.
  10. I play an operative and I love how everyone comes here to say we are garbage outside of stealth. That is so bs. We have one ability from stealth and even though it is strong it is not make or break. We have another 4 second stun and a root outside of that, medium armor, and a shield. Our other abilities still hit like trucks with a huge critical chance and multiplier.
  11. Instead of having a built in delay I will create my own delay? Makes complete logical sense..............
  12. Is this a thread filled with trolls? If you cannot feel the ability delay you are probably a bad player that clicks or plays as fast as my grandmother with arthritis. Don't post on the topic saying it is lag or fps issues until you educate yourselves by reading the thousands of posts in the ability delay thread.
  13. Sorry for any typos im on my phone at work. It occurs with all instant casts after using recklessness but is most apparent with shock. I can duplicate the problem at will. I do not have a way to traps or I would. Im sure one or the posts in the op has this shown (although maybe not assassin abilities)
  14. Create an assassin. Cast recklessness then cast shock. The shock will fail to go off 100% of the time. The gcd will always be triggered.
  15. Klarick, your post is an obvious troll. Is there anyone that can say a certain class is better than another with the delay? My 41 assassin is becomin actually brutal and frustrating to play.
  16. This is getting to be so comically bad. It's the absolute worst on my Assassin. Cast Recklessness and ANY instant after that and the second spell triggers the GCD with no response. Try force shroud + force cloak, watch as the force cloak gets stuck and will literally not trigger for 10+ seconds. I think it is way worse for melees.

    Interrupt Delay?

This is not lag. It is an inherent flaw in the way combat works. Please see the thread on the general forum and rate it.

    Interrupt Delay?

Read the thread on the general forums about ability delay. This is a huge issue for everyone and is not limited to only interrupts.
  19. Stephen reid responded to the question on reddit. Check it out. Im hopeful atleast
  20. I agree with you, I do not know the technical aspects of fixing the issue but I do know that they are aware of it and that if it was an easy fix that they would have fixed it a long time ago, which is not the case. However, I do genuinely hope there is a fix as I enjoy this game and hope that it can compete. To all the people that are asking for a response I would not expect one unless if they knew how to fix it
  21. I am a financial controller at a major fortune 500 company. Here is a little insight from the corporate perspective.... They know about the issue. They have probably always known about the issue. It wouldn't surprise me if right now they are sitting in a board room with all 200+ pages of this forum post discussing how to handle this issue. It would be suicide for them to post anything on this topic unless if they had a fix in mind, which they probably do not. The saddest part is that there may be no fix to this,if there was you would have seen it fixed in one of the many beta versions of the game. I do not know how you build such a good game on such a bad foundation. Your cries are not going unheard, but they may go unanswered.
