  1. Well, the fun factor of BH is pretty high. There's no i-win button, but there aren't many classes that can be equally good at healing and damage, or even both at the same time. Depends on your playstyle. If you just want to rush in like a headless chicken and start swinging that lightsaber then BH isn't for you
  2. Hi folks, Again a question from a noob, I'm looking at this ability thinking that it sounds pretty useful, it's passive, procs on all abilities, and lasts for 6 seconds, during which time you're likely to score another crit and it gets reset. If I'm focused more on PvP than PvE, is it worth getting this instead of Improved Vents? I don't use vent heat all that often, with the Arsenal spec I manage reasonably well at my level. Maybe with a few heals thrown in I will need to use Vent Heat a lot more, I dunno. I'm lv 28 at the moment. I'm guessing that Surgical Precision is needed to cast those heals in PvP when you're constantly being targetted by someone. That's the only two abilities I'm considering switching in the skill tree for the alacrity proc. Any thoughts on this, or why it's a bad idea?
  3. Well correct me if I'm wrong, but in PvE there's more than one player in the raid and the people get to roll on the loot, so you don't end up with one guy getting duplicate and triplicate of item he already has. And in PvE you could also disenchant (dismantle here?) the item, so you get something useful out of the drop even if noone wants it. Is there anything useful to be had from the duplicate items? Also, I've never heard of raid bosses not dropping any loot, which happens with empty PvP bags.
  4. Has anyone tried an Arsenal/Pyro hybrid instead of Arsenal/Bodyguard? I'm not high enough level to try it, but I would have thought that damage and ability bonuses from both trees would complement each other quite well, as long as you stay away from skills that only work with Combustible Cylinder (since you'll be using High Velocity instead) I had something like this in mind: http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#300bcZMIkbR0dZfcbMdh.1
  5. Well, I've hit that spot where mobs heal themselves and fights take forever. I've decided to respec and go Arsenal, at this level I have enough for tracer missile and after I pick up kolto vents I'll go back to picking bodyguard skills and back into healing. I only have one companion so I can't comment how bad it is, but remember that the first respec is free. I've seen it mentioned that the respec costs reset every week, so if I need to respec again it won't hurt either, as long as you don't do it every day
  6. It's better to balance things out quickly and stomp it out rather than letting it drag on for months. Look at all this QQing now, imagine if they left slicing the way it is for 2 months, how much worse would the reaction be? I like what Bioware is doing, deal with the issues nice and early. I hope they start patching things every week, even if that means we get a different nerf with every patch.
  7. I agree that it's pretty crappy. Most of what you craft is worse than what's already on the armor/weapons that drop in the loot, not to mention easily obtainable from commendations. Armortech sounds a lot more useful to me, since you can make gear for both yourself and your companion. Droid armor is useless unless you actually bring the droid with you (ain't gonna happen for bounty hunters), and I have yet to craft a single ship upgrade. I'm still not sure whether I want to keep it, so far it's quite disappointing, but I hear everyone complaining about lv50 crafting and how Cybertech seems to be the only reasonably useful skill at endgame. Dunno
  8. I was 210 points into slicing and I dropped it yesterday. Maybe you can make money on it at lv50, but if that's the case then I'll take it up again when they fix it. As it stands I was losing money on it even before the fix. Scavenging makes me a lot more than slicing did, by selling the mats, and I still have enough mats to craft myself. Maybe the mats were sold to othe more successful slicers, we'll see in a few days if that continues, but right now I consider slicing a money pit.
  9. I'm a bounty hunter and if I understand correctly the droid never leaves the ship. So crafting gear for it is pretty useless. All that cybertech droid stuff is only good for chars that have a combat droid or a support droid (healer?).
  10. So, did anyone drop their slicing skill yet? I'm thinking of switching to something else when I log in tonight. Can't say I ever made any money out of slicing, I made more from selling scavenged mats. If it was like that before the nerf, well.. Can't be any better for me after the nerf
  11. How do you people make money out of slicing? Sending the companion on missions costs more than what the lockboxes provide. Augments cannot be sold in the auction house, or if you manage to sell it you get less than what the mission cost. So I'm really puzzled by all this. My slicing is around 160 now and I've only lost money on it.
