  1. Don't play deception.. Just don't do it. Someone above said something about how awesome it is about being able to annoy ppl in pvp. Great. Wonderful. Well done, you've slightly distracted someone. A Darkness or Darkmad hybrid would have slaughtered the same target in the same time it took you to simly divert their attention and probably kill you. I can actually kill Deception sins 1v2 on my Darkmad, the difference is that vast.
  2. 1) Keep slow up. 2) Never let them get out of LoS and if they do, make damned sure you can force speed to get the interrupt off on the heal. 3) Get Deflection up ASAP. 4) If they vanish, it should drop you out of combat, so go straight for Seethe. 5) save your Electrocute for when you can hit a fully procced Force Lightning. 6) try to kite as much as possible, at first. Use Spike and slow to get range, then maintain it whilst using Discharge and Shock. The sooner you can start building Harnessed Darkness, without losing health, the better.
  3. Can this be moved to a forum where it has even a shred of relevance, please?
  4. A tankassin in dps gear either isn't a tankassin, or is a completely clueless one..
  5. It's depressing, just how often you actually get this by accident, both in pvp and in pve...
  6. (Apart from here, this thread will not refer to specs, gearing, companions, leveling, rotations, pvp or anything else that gets covered in a new thread, every 30 seconds.) Who else finds the effect of the new War Hero helmet rather amusing in conversations? the cabling actually moves with your speech in a rather non-sensical manner, giving the illusion that they're almost individual worms, or something. the metallic effect on the male voice is actually kinda ominous too, without detracting from the sarcastic English voice. Well done Bioware, nice touch...
  7. Georg Zoeller ardently defended accuracy, at the guild summit. By stacking accuracy, you're focusing far too much on the individual situation of trying to kill a tank and thus pigeonholing yourself in terms of what you can actually do. It's far more effective to focus on surge and the internal damage of madness and darkness. Just another reason not to play deception, as if you needed one.
  8. I do agree that it's a terrible shame that we're having even more Voidstar rammed down our throats, now. It's truly criminal on Bioware's part, that they're decreasing access to one of the most successful aspects of the game in Huttball, through increasing access to arguably the least successful. Huttball is anything but a zerg fest. We even had a huttball premade the other day where we played the entire second half of the game naked (against a rival premade) and still won 6-0... Not even fighting, let alone zerging!

    What's a battleground? I only play Warzones...
  10. Your inability to conjugate is offensive... PTs and Vanguards are fine, because they're actual glass cannons and have a clear trade off between burst and survivability. As of now, Marauders have the best set of defensive CDs in the game, as well as the strongest burst, all of a sudden. Where is the trade off? 9k Ravage AND 6 second practical immunity?
  11. I remember thinking the same thing when I first hit 50 on my main... But then for some reason, there appeared to be a direct correlation between the number of games I won and the amount of gear I had on at the time. It was then that it dawned on me, that me having gear meant I was no longer letting my team down and we actually have an 8 man team, instead of just 7.5! If in doubt, always attempt to find common characteristics between seperate instances of the same event. If there is an obvious aspect that is always present in these situations, it's usually linked to the event itself. You're the common demoninator...
  12. I was blown away by what WASN'T in 1.2 that should have been (rateds)... Does that count?
  13. I play a DPS spec, in DPS gear. Does that stop me taunting or guarding? (clue: no.) 3 medals is insanely simple to get, regardless of how much time you have. Example: 2.5k crit - killing blow, 2.5k hit - 2 medals. Do it on your own objective = bronze defence medal, = 3 medals!
  14. You get medals for passing the ball. You get medals for killing the ball handler. You can even get a medal for standing AFK on the enemy goal line, if someone throws you the ball! If you're not getting a single medal in an entire game, you're doing something very wrong, I'm afraid. No killing blow? No protection? no healing? If they put 6 past you before any 3 of those, your team practically WAS AFK, which is what this system is trying to stop...
  15. Going by the limited experience we actually have of 1.2 being live, it just feels like they've over-balanced carnage slightly, in terms of ravage. I had a mate openly admit that he'd just 2 shotted a full BM geared sage, with ravage. That plus the apparent alteration to expertise and perceived decrease in survability across the board is just making them particularly scary atm, but it's nothing that can't be easily remedied.
  16. *Puts guard on a healer, runs in and taunts.* 'OMG! I just got 3 medals in about 15 seconds! How did that just happen?!'
  17. Assassins don't have an opener and therefore there is literally no advantage to attacking from stealth, other than getting the first hit in.
  18. They've got to fix that... It's just shafting people who took the time to farm out a full set of BM gear. They can't honestly expect us to do it all over again?
  19. Thing is, Bioware clearly took the decision to pull the plug on Rateds at the last possible second. They simply didn't have time to rework the patch around that, late at night, with only a few hours left.
  20. In all honesty, I've been likening the Sith Inquisitor's armour to a scoody doo villain for several weeks now. Thing is, it actually kinda works...
  21. So yeah, they contribute literally nothing, to a competitive, objective-based game. If you were an ops leader, why would you take a deception assassin over an operative who has better burst, or a marauder who has better mobility? You just wouldn't.
  22. Why on Earth would you put a point in Duplicity, instead of Death Field?
  23. Sorry, but I 100% agree with Dksocal and everyone who is simply bashing him for subversively promoting darkness is just being single minded. Darkness itself has nothing to do with it, he's raising some perfectly valid criticisms. The spec above is basically an attempt to make an operative out of an assassin. If you want a high risk, high yield stealth burst class, roll an operative instead. We're designed to have far more control, utility and options; That is what the spec does not give. So you want to napalm a healer, great. What happens if he roots you? You don't have force speed talented, so you're screwed. You don't have force shroud's nerfed cooldown either, so that's not an option... all you can do is stand there and die, due to the lack of survivability. You're basing everything on the off chance that everything comes together for you and that's going to happen very rarely, in a warzone situation, especially in rated. Why would your ops leader take you to rated, over an equally geared operative? He'd have to be your best man or being heavily bribed to do so. You are passing up on far too many much better talents, for the sake of the possibility of better dps. It's simply not a worthy trade off, either for you, or your team. Don't try and play a class you're not.
