You might want to look for the ranked war hero on the gtn those dont require a valor rank to equip

I would say first off tanking shadow tanking isnt that hard just have to get used to it. Pvp is pretty good for lvling also if you get some exp buffs that helps also. they can be found on the gtn under the cartel section

If your going for tank then yes

its all about stacking the right stuff in your gear as well as having the set bonuses with it even if upgrade from a say 69 armor set piece to a non set 78 armor. In my opinion your hurting yourself by losing the set bonus. The two piece set bonus for the shadow/assassin tank is an additional 5% shield rating. You add that into your Kw or DW and it buffs it 20% (15% from the KW or DW and the 5% additional from the set bonus) You really have to min/max everything for the shadow/assassin tanks I have almost all my augments in absorb with only 2 i believe that are shield rating. You will spend a lot of time looking at the gear and ripping that one mod or that one enhancement out of the oricon gear. I made absorb/shield rating my top priority when i was looking at gear. Don't worry if a piece of gear doesn't have that much endurance on it. Endurance is good but absorb and shield rating is far better. Also being in a active guild that has members that are geared up for the new ops which takes place on the planet of Oricon help also.

you only have a 50% shield chance with your dark ward up ? My shadow tank has 41k hp and 39% shield chance with out kinetic ward (dark ward for you assassin tanks) and 59% with it up

Please tell me this is a joke ? If not then yes there are multiple bosses and trash pulls where voice communication and coordination is critical so as not to cause a party wipe. Example the HM TC ops with this one the time between the big laser beam of death shortens every time he uses it and if you're not listening for the cues that its about to happen it can cause wipes. Probably one of the more widely known bosses is the Operator 9 boss in TFB HM So i would say yes its important

To the original poster you need to learn the fights just a little bit better. Also you probably are getting stuck with bad groups. For that i can understand but and but if you're in a guild and your group is all on vent, teamspeak, mumble or whatever you use then it shouldn't be that big or a problem at all. I can easily tank this hm's on my Shadow tank which isn't the best class for tanking right now thank you BW It just comes down to communication. If you have a good group meaning a healer that know's what to do for the fights and dps that know they are not the tanks they you shouldn't have a problem at all

Go for what you like to play and your playstyle. The gunslinger is the flavor of the month so to say. the shadow is good in pvp just have to know your role. The shadow is not a front ling fighter but a more strike hard and strike fast then fade back again. The gunslinger is nice with the dps but alot of times they get targeted quickly
