  1. 100% agree with this also. To many mark snipers to begin with and imo one of the worst to use in pvp. As I stated, people that know how to play wont let you sit there and shot at them. You ll know when you start to get good at sniping when you can kill melee classes at melee range. Have a good idea of what skills to use at what times and work on the mobility shooting
  2. Agree with the above poster. I came from a 50 shadow to agent and currently at lvl 15 doing around 250+ damage with over 40+ kills a match. Even my surviability is better on a sniper then the shadow. Prob that I noticed is when people play sniper then kinda do it a bit overboard. I dont know how many times on my shadow I just see them hiding in cover. I have alot of success running and gunning and using snipe/ambush only when the time permits. On my shadow if I see a sniper behind cover they are usually the first ones I go for. Why? Because they think is okay to sit there when your beating on them and try to cast snipe. What they should be doing is getting the hell out of there, using running and gunning tactics, with leg shots, stuns, etc. Overally, if your having problems with snipers, try to become more mobile. Just my 2 cents
  3. Played right an operative can throw out some very very good damage. Prob is most times their not played right Go into pvp and find a high producting operative and learn from what they do. I had a lvl 15 operative doing over 250k damage and 40+ kills. Its a pretty hard class to learn but once you do they can shutdown most of the other classes. Hell they even get more ranged then assassins/shadows, so def dont go that route if you plan on rerolling.
  4. Side note since we are talking about this. After spending prob 1 mill in respec costs my honest opinion is sever force isnt worth it. Why you might ask, simple, keeps you from restealthing. The range is awesome yes, but I use Force in Balance instead. Pick your targets and make sure force slow is on your hotbar. The damage to staying out of damage ratio for sever force imo isnt worth it. Some like the 2 sec immobile, but by then there shouldnt be any reason why your not close to them anyways. For cappers force breach works fine. I know its my 2 cents but I usually can get away with top kills, dps and least amount of deaths w/o sever force. But of course its ppls preference If you play on Juyo by chance you can always hit me up for questions or some pvp action to show what I am. Ingame name-Tiamat I am also trying to figure out how to record games....I know I know. But I am collecting screenshots so as I get them I'll see if I can post them.
  5. Actually I am. If you read what I wrote I stated that both have about a 2 second cast time. That is without the balance trait to make it instant cast. What I was referring to is the after cast animation, as stated. If you notice after you cast mind crush regardless if its a 2 second cast or instant, you do a odd 2 finger animation which delays any other casting. Assassins do not have that delay. Trust me I know as Im reaching level 50 on my assassin and while having a lvl 50 shadow. You have to look at it this way. If you do a damage based route with you shadow, you have to be very efficent in solid continous dps. Having any type of delay greatly reduces this. Shadows always have to think on their feet and need to have any/all skills ready for whatever encounter. Stopping a heal or a force lightning could make or break a fight and not having that opportunity to pop a stun or mind snap do to an animation delay, only makes it worse. I am not one to complain I am just stating that on my assassin is alot easier to pvp. Sadly, I like my shadow more so I'm finding that only using mind crush on ppl running away is the best approach. I never use it anymore during a duel even if I get the instant cast cause I feel its the same as them stunning me for 1-2 sec.
  6. Although this is all true ppl need to realize that both classes have the same skills. Only difference is animation time, plain and simple. Death field is the exact same as force in balance. We are just talking animation time. I tell you when I play my assassin I seriously forgot how quick theres are and usually have to pause for a sec and say oh crap I have time to use another skill now. Im used to over compensating on my jedi ;/
  7. Hi all I just wrote a post under the consular forums about this. As stated if you want to really flip a lid, instead of shock/project look into mind crush/crushing darkness. Have fun with the jedis 2 second 2 finger animation after casting. Yes you cant do anything during that time, so basically you stunned yourself. Assassin doesnt have an after skill animation
  8. Hi all, you are prob wondering what the title is based around. During my observations as both a lvl 50 shadow and 45 assassin, I have to say its been a hell of alot easier. Why you may ask? Simple let me explain it below. This is based off of observations in pvp. Pve you can get away with any build and be fine. I used the same exact builds for each. 1. Project Huge animation disadvantage in pvp. I cannot state this enough and it has been mentioned before. Our project takes around 2+ seconds from cast to finish(maybe longer if 2 are thrown) During that time we cant do anything. Assassins equilevent is a lightning blast. Cast to finish is around .5 seconds. 2. Mind Crush- First its hella long to cast THEN on top of that AFTER ITS CAST your character does a 1-2 second two finger animation. Dont as me why but they do. Assassins equilvent is once again a lightning blast that takes around .5 seconds without a finishing animation. Funny thing is on the balance tree you can get a skill to lower the casting time of mind crush to 0 seconds, but you still get the 2 second finger animation basically meaning it still takes 2 seconds overall. 3. Clothing-Enough said Now some of you might say this maybe small beans but honestly as a 54 rank pvp person this can be a huge difference from survining a battle or not. Ill give you a perfect example. I was battling a lvl 50 sorceror from a distance so I was allready at a disadvantage from being hit with force lightning multiple times. I got in close started to do my combos and noticed my cast free mind crush proc. I immediatly hit it since the person was running and then noticed another force lightning about to cast. Now we all know that debuffs are still getting worked on and my were on cooldown so I started jamming on mind snap. As you can guess, I was still doing the mind crush animation so I was unable to use mind snap and caught another force lightning. The other lvl 50 was around 340 health after I was killed. When I play my assassin it amazes me on how fast their skills cast. I am used to overcompensating for my jedi that I forgot the assassin doesnt need to worry. I know for a fact if that same instance occurred as a assassin I prob would of been able to hit the snap and win the fight. Just my 2 cents
  9. Coming in here as a lvl 50 Jedi Consular Shadow trust me your not underpowered. As many said go darkness plain and simple. If you want underpowered try the shadow. Not only is it similar to what you think is underpowered, we have longer animation times(huge disadvantage in pvp) and the worst gear known to man. Go look at our forums and see how many ppl think they look like a twinkie in a dress
  10. Jedi Consular PVP Gear= IT'S A TRAP! Funny they don't tell you how dumb you'll look with the PVP sets. You just have the honors of hitting level 50, grinding pvp, and finding out for yourself
  11. Trust me if I cant figure out how to record just yet I could careless about the music lol. I am just taking video and uploading it. Once I get a hang of that then maybe I'll add the crappy music
  12. Awesome thank you again. Ill have to look into this more after I get home from work. Darn firewalls wont let me read more about it atm. Thanks again and wish me luck !
  13. Oh sorry one more question. Is xfire the same software that lists what your friends are playing, etc. Does it actually record videos, reason I ask is I am unable to open the link at work so not sure exactly what it does. Thanks
  14. Awesome ty, I wish I was a bit more techy to make them really stand out but honestly just gameplay footage is what ppl have been asking about. I ll try xfire and see how it goes then go from there. Thank you again for all your help I appreciate it
  15. What are your thoughts on Bandicam. I was reading that it automatically compresses the file while allowing for larger video footage. Could I get something like that and just upload the raw footage to youtube. I am not worried about sound or commentary at the moment. Taking one step at a time with this lol
