  1. When you open on a terrible assume they will reactivity knock-back, so move away a couple steps as most of them will telegraph the heck out of it. Move back in and start up. If they are competent...start running. If by chance they aren't out of 10 yard range get your snare on them. Against decent pvpers you are going to get kited, against terribles you will dominate.
  2. The (X,Y) coordinates in MMO's are typically the ground as it would appear on a flat map and the Z is coming up through that map. Not that it matters, its all arbitrary. We could call it the LOLYOUHAVETORUN axisif we wanted.
  3. Hey cutie. Go look up what our CD on backstab is. It is on the first page of the thread.
  4. Truth. Fun fact pointed out that I think is pertinent to the argument.
  5. If you pvp quite a bit and haven't figured out how to counter an operative then.... wait for it.... wait for it.... you might be terrible. Edit: For the sake of being constructive. When he opens on you....do you have any defensive CDs? Oh you do? Use them. When you stand up....do you have some sort of gap opener? Oh you do? Use them. If not... When you stand up do you have a snare or stun? Oh I'm sure you do, use them. Do you have an AoE or dot? Oh you do? prevent them from restealthing. Do you have an absorb of something to reapply? oh you do? probably should do that. Did you get 100->0 with 12k health by someone that outgears you? Oh you did? Go cry on the forums and exaggerate.
  6. I don't know how in your mind this game is balanced for general objective PvP. The burst vs health pool ratio is pretty absurd. WoW battlegrounds currently play tremendously better than WZ's do currently, even though their balance is pretty screwed up right now. All arena does is allow you to better understand who is doing the absurd damage and how to counter it. Right now WZ's are more of a derp fest than any instanced PvP I've ever seen. The ability to exploit the Z-Axis by several classes is example enough.
  7. It's ridiculous but I doubt the braintrust is going to do anything anytime soon. They are busy making absurd decisions elsewhere to care.
  8. I would PvE more but it is impossible to find anyone willing to take more than one melee, and taking the most squishy, and inconsistent PvE class is not high on anyones priorities.
  9. I should have clarified. Anyone that is complaining about ops is terrible. They are free kills if you don't drool on your keyboard.
  10. Pretty much this. Also, there are workarounds to pre-mades as well. Limited ops testing is the kind of thing that should be happening internally. 40 people can not recreate the kind of testing 200 people can.
  11. Sorry, you didn't need macros for either of those encounters. In that game targeting was good enough that you could reliably switch targets for either a focused burn. The only place where a macro would be nice would be a focus macro on meteors to bounce without changing targets but like I said, it was hardly a requirement. You could do without within the 1.5 second GCD, it just made your life easier to not have to frantically communicate to your computer what you wanted to do.
  12. We are going in circles at this point. I'll just say this, if bioware doesn't add some functionality to this paid beta we are in, then the game will fail sooner than it should have. Allowing macros and addons would actually be the cheapest and fastest workaround to get there. Post 1.2 is going to be months too late.
  13. And I am telling you the difference is insignificant in output but significant of QoL and you don't seem to understand that.
  14. You assume infinite resources and infinite keystrokes at all times. That is the flaw in your argument. This isn't SC2.
  15. No, the biggest difference between us will not be the keystrokes. You are kidding yourself if you think that is the difference. The largest dps / tps / and hps increases come from uptime, spacial/situational awareness, resource management, and proper spell usage, not macros. The people with macros just don't develop carpal tunnel.
  16. Macros do promote efficiency when used under the correct conditions and improve QoL. Macros used improperly will tax a players potential output. Can you admit there are conditions where a macro would actually lower output? Can you admit there are easy ways to limit a macro's functionality (ie limit actions to one GCD)? When I macro, I generally have both the macro and the ability bound. It would be foolish to do otherwise.
  17. Nope. But again, I've explained this all before, and don't expect you to understand. Also, you are talking about basic probabilities. It is a ridiculously easy concept. I am sure that it gave you some trouble and all but I wouldn't assume the same for others. I just am dismissing your argument based on the fact that improper use of macros can actually be as much of a hindrance as well as a boon. Macros are for very specific conditions, if you try to use them outside of those conditions as a one button fits all, then you are going to get less output. Do you understand that sentence or would you like a picture to illustrate it? I have MS paint all fired up and ready to go.
  18. So my abilities that are off the GCD, are actually in some manner on an internal GCD due to the server/hardware being able to process them correctly? I'm sorry you don't understand the basic principle, I don't honestly expect you to.
  19. Can you show me the option that makes my spell activate on button push rather than release so if in the instance I press my three buttons in quick succession they actually go off in the right order with proper modifiers? Oh, you can't? Thanks for playing.
  20. See above post, I was unclear. Macros are a good thing and the people advocating against them are the people that wipe on absurdly easy content, don't understand why, then claim to love it.
  21. That wasn't what I was attempting to communicate at all. What I was saying is the people screaming "no macros" are going to be outplayed in a no macro environment regardless. We might as well make our QoL better. I am absolutely in favor of macros.
  22. No, I do fine. I guess the terribles that routinely wipe on easy content seem to think that preventing metrics and standards in other MMOs will make them better. (Hint: it won't)
