  1. not at all. Backlash from "we would have liked to include this" would most likely be drastically lower than "this was in the works in the game, but we scrapped it and did something else instead"
  2. I misunderstood. I took it as you claiming they talked about what they were wanting to do prior to release, but then released a different beast. For that, I think they were just addressing comments, questions and concerns from the community as to why certain aspects were not included.
  3. I've yet to see any post where they said with certainty "x" will be in the SSSP. Instead, I see a bunch of posters saying "I can't wait, I hope x is in the SSSP... what, it's not? LIARS!"
  4. now you're arguing semantics. Let's just call it the "product at launch" then (however, I was referring to NDAs for games in general, not MMOs specifically, as the point still applies).
  5. The first two are what myself (and others) have been suggesting. The third needs to be included, no reason it should be exempt any more so than PvE
  6. decent article - it was quite the opposite of what I was expecting. I kinda thought it would take the side of the butthurt guy that got caught streaming, and was pleasantly suprirsed at how objective they were. That being said, they left out two of the reasons that I believe NDAs exist 1) This isn't the final product. Features are constantly getting added and removed. While there are a lot of players that understand this, there are also a lot that will complain because of this. 2) To build hype. This is probably the biggest reason. Ever watch the south park episode where cartman gets the amusement park and won't let anyone in? Because of this, the park escalates in popularity as people are now dying to get into what was a once failing park... and the more I'm typing this, the more I realize just how close to reality this is for Bioware O.o
  7. 1) so you are one of the few to complete the primary focus of the game? Congrats! There is still *a lot* of endgame content, why not get them all fully geared for nightmare modes? That should add a bit of gameplay. 2) oh noes! they implemented a system that you aren't interested in? How dare they cater to the needs of players other than yourself! 3)yeah... all MMOs have bugs. SWTOR does surprisingly well with how quickly (most) bugs are handled (as long as they are affecting things outside of PvP at any rate ) so.... throwing $2000 means you have more say in what goes on? That's barely a drop in the bucket for EA
  8. From what I can tell, they are just cycling through the level 40 pvp gear and making it both adaptive and "blinking". Once they finish those off, hopefully we will get some cooler outfits. as far as the dancer underwear... yeah, I thought those were finally gone. Very disappointed to see them return.
  9. With that logic I can say that Space PvP isn't in the game, so obviously the devs don't want it to be. Try again
  10. problem is, if implemented, it will not be an optional addition for personal gratification and assessment, but rather a benchmark to determine who can and cannot participate - something Bioware has stated they have no interest in partaking in.
  11. please provide proof of "many more". Any sort of actual proof will do, as opposed to misdirected speculation. No, really. We'll wait here.
  12. that's a weak argument at best, and more likely one that is invalid. There is no timeframe of when various systems of QoL changes can be implemented. Devs have stated in the past that it is something they would like to see and are looking into. Furthermore, if you took the time to actually read the posts provided instead of just repeating yourself over and over (common definition of insanity?) I have stated that I already have earned it on all the characters I want the bonus on, hence nothing to "deal with". What's funny is every time a viable argument in favor of legacy wide datacrons is presented, the argumented is outright ignored by its opposition in favor of frivolous personal attacks.
  13. I clarified, then I said there is no need, because the point I made still stands. If you want to classify UI customization into a separate category, then mentally replace my previous post where I said "mechanic" with "UI". Once again, if your only counterargument is to b*tch about the wording of a post, then you have no argument to begin with. Sometimes I honesty wonder why I bother even responding to teenagers who are clueless when it comes to structured debate edit: Just to drive a point home, if you are trying to justify an offshoot of an argument, don't throw out assumptions like "99% of people". It just makes you look even more ignorant since you have no way of backing that up. Since you are convinced that alterations to UI have nothing to do with mechanics, and most addon discussion is centered around WoW, let's see what the WoW Wiki has to say about it. Not saying it is 100% accurate, but goes to show that your 99% assumption is pretty far off.
  14. depends on how you define "base mechanic", really. If you define it as an interactive feature within the UI (as the extent to which a UI can be customized can be considered a mechanic by definition) then it certainly would fall into the realm. No need to argue semantics though, my original point remains. Zeroing in on grammar doesn't help your cause.
  15. sorry, but I'm against this one. This isn't a QoL change, this is drastically altering a base mechanic. Even prior to launch, while SWTOR was still in development they said they didn't want any of addons, if I'm not mistaken.

    9K dirty Kick

been wishing for that since launch.
  17. OMG - they need to add eating ice cream as an emote! I'd buy the f**k outta that.
  18. Cookies n' cream with additional mashed up Oreos thrown in, then some crumbled up frozen Oreo pop tarts. Blend it all. Stick it back in the freezer. Thaw slightly and enjoy your diabetes.
  19. pretty much in the same boat. Despite my "opposition" telling me that I need to go "earn" it (I already have on all my characters that need it, if I need it on others, I have no problem doing it again), I have no problem supporting those who wish this feature implemented into the game, and see no reason why it should not be. Heck, if it is implemented, I know I'll be utilizing it from this point onward.
  20. "ever game in existence" (I read this in the voice of the redneck from South Park) is not an MMO that has ongoing development and new features constantly being added, some of which (read: a lot of which) are added for convenience - this would be one of those features. HK is a perfect example of this - you do a long, drawn out questline once and are given the option to skip said quest line on subsequent characters, yet receive the rewards. It COMPLETELY defeats your argument of "you want the benefits, you have to do the quest" because this is a very clear example of how it isn't always the case. The companion buffs are brought up because your (weak) counterargument to the HK example is "well HK doesn't give stats. You shouldn't get stats on one character for something you do on a different character". Well, companion buffs exist, are one of the very first features that were implemented into the Legacy system (a strong indication of what Legacy is originally intended to do) and grant exactly that which you are claiming should not exist - permanent stat increases that are legacy-wide, unlocked through the actions of only one character. Again, if you think that features such as being able to purchase HK or get legacy-wide stat increases through the companion conversations are features that do not belong in the game and should be removed, then your argument against implementing legacy-wide datacrons is consistent with your beliefs and your argument is valid (not saying I agree with it, only that it has validity and therefore any purpose in this debate). If you deny these accusations and claim that the provided examples are permissible, then you must provide sound evidence of what differentiates the datacron quests from both option to skip the HK quest series and receive permanent legacy-wide buffs through the actions of a single character. Because right now, your argument is "its different beucase... I think it's different!" That doesn't hold up too well
  21. You want HK on every character, go get him on every character. Oh, wait, they decided to give us the option to skip that and purchase it after the initial unlock. Just because something is not currently present, does not mean it is something that can not or should not later be implemented.
