  2. Hi, For the cases when there are 4 DPS in each team in solo ranking (happens quite oftne), may be new type of arena can be added. When it starts it put people 1 vs 1 in small arenas. First round team wins if it gets 4:0 or 3:1. Second round 2:0 wins. If it is 1:1, final duel is played, winner takes it all. Just 1 round. Pluses of this format: 1. Duels. It is a fun format, but it happens really not so often, and usually one of the player already in disadvantage. (used his abilities etc.) 2. Diversity. It is boring to play same format again and again. 3. Some new ranking may be added, best dueler. Disadvantages: 1. Need some coding. 2. Not for all encounters (only all DPS teams). 3. Unavailable for healers and tanks. What do you think?

    Reg WM shorter?

    Many of them are way too long. They start with 1.5 minute of waiting (when really 30-40 seconds are enough), and then they take 10+ minutes. Many WZ can be still playable while shorter. Civil war may be to 400, not to 500, hutball could be 8 minutes and end at 4 points, etc. It does not seems like a big difference, but 2-3 minutes per WZ really matters, when you play a lot of them. What do you think?
  4. I do not know the reason behind this, but lack of cross-server pvp simply killing pvp. On a heavy loaded servers it is not be a big issue, but SWTOR almost never has heavy loaded servers nowaday. Some are light most of the time. Sometimes it takes hours waiting for a single pop. Anyway, if SWTOR playerbase will shrink so fast, we all will be on the same global server soon, so spending time for cross-server is not wise money spending.
  5. Juyo stacks do not increase crit chance, they increase damage. Zen, though, makes burn effects auto crit, and we have zen up quite often from damage + vc which we can use in the start of combat, so crits are not so important. Also, you can invest points into insight in focus tree, which is +2% of force crits for every point spent. You can keep crit at around 20-22% + 5% from smuggler buff (unlocked thru legacy). Spend the rest for power/surge to increase damage when it actually crits.
  6. Get obroan, augment everything and use nano-stim. Your skill will matter much more than the rest (full brut + all companions to 100% + all datacrons). Also, if you use OP class it will give your team much more, than small gear and stats changes. Some full geared classes in this game are worse, than other half geared OP classes.
  7. Yeah, and who needs a cross-server pvp queue? Better to lose subs due to this.

  9. I just back to SWTOR after a long break (was with SWTOR after day 1, but deleted everything and left after about a year). Played pvp sentinel as my main before and now I got new sent to 55, and gearing it up at the moment. I read this thread, and can say both sides are wrong. Sent is a hard mode class to play, and requires a lot of skill, which is fine. It is also a fun class to play. But, to be honest, bad sents shall do bad, average sents shall be average, and best players shall be best. Current situation when bad players do terrible, average players do bad, and best players do very good is wrong. It is just a clear lack of a balance. Well, we all know that perfect balance in a myth, and it can't be reached. But sent shall be checked by devs, and some changes shall be applied. Sent shall not be an easy mode, but if it is a hard mode, it shall be rewarding. Doing better than other to be in par with them... Well, lets hope it will change soon.
  10. I have much better advice for you. Reroll at the top populated server in your timezone. This game is MMO, you are not supposed to make heroics by yourself.
  11. I remember very good time when we had guildies at different teams in huttball. Once it was even premade vs premade -) Gave us a lot of good laughs. I think people here take game way too serious. And in a bad way. Finding someone who is better than you is a challenge, not a curse.

  13. There are few things they shall do fast, like merging dead servers. Other than that, and I said it from day one, this game will be good after 1 year of development. It is quite playable as it is now as well. If you do not have $15 per month for subscription come back in 9 months, you will find game polished and with enough end game content to keep you busy.
  14. Not every jedi knight icon you see after game ends in sentinel. At least half of them is guardians. Just check how many mara/sent is there out of 8 players at start of wz for next 20 WZ you will play, just out of curiosity.
  15. So, play it, and show everyone how to be invincible as mara/sent. It is OP class with low skill cap you say, it is super popular Jedi with 2 light sabers, so it is a reason we see 5 of them per WZ usually. Wait, we do not. Why, God, why? Sarcasm mode off, just for your information. All those talks about invincible maras comes from people who really got no clue. Mara is a melee class with medium armor, and it is being focused almost constantly in pvp. It is a reason why sentinel with pocket healers get usually x1.5, or twice as much damage as same mara without healer. Because mara is not invincible. It is very far from it. When out of of def cds mara dies fast. And this "when" happens often even if player knows perfectly how to use his def cds right, because mara shall be in a constant contact with the target to get max damage output. Which makes him a very popular target. Generally mara defensive skills while cool, are on quite long CDs, works not so long, has a catch attached, and can be negated by skillful op. So they require good situational understanding when to use them effectively. This is why your low skill cap comment is plain wrong. Mara is all about being situational. It is not a question how to push a button. It is when to push it. This button and other 15+ buttons which mara shall use to be competitive.
  16. It is more than month since all those "I rerolled to sentinel/mara" posts started, yet it is still 1-2 sent/mara per wz. Skill gap between good mara and bad mara is big. Many people who will reroll to mara will return to their current main AC quite fast. Sure, great skilled players will shine as mara, but we know it is a small % of total pvp population. Do not forget also that mara is perfect in mixed geared environment, but considering BW leveling the gear field in 1.2 it is still big question how sent/mara will perform. I am not saying mara is not OP in 1.2 -- I simply do not know. I need to play it first. But I doubt those people who say maras will dominate WZ ever played this AC.
  17. You are very wrong. Trans is one of the greatest tools in sent arsenal if it is talented and used properly. WZ is about a team play, you know.
  18. It is amazing how many people complain just basing of their assumptions. Also, "gear or skill" is a classic "to have or to be" dilemma. If you are "to be" person, you do not mind those changes a little bit. Invest your time in learning, and you will actually enjoy tougher competitions. BTW, I am full BM and I love recent gear progression changes.
  19. I am waiting for all those give-me-easy-mode-op-class crowd to start rerolling to sent/mara and bring them to WZ. Please please do. People who are great with other classes still are great playing sent/mara. But that average/poor crowd just sucks terribly. More of them -- more easy kills.
  20. I like this change for pvp. One more resource to manage, one more step between good player and bad player. I want though BW make out of combat conditions for pvp more transparent. May be color of icon shall change, or some kind of time slider running... DO not know, because now it is often completely not intuitive when system considers you being out of fight.

  23. All such discussions are totally pointless before we know the new formulas and how they affect the game.
  24. Classes are rebalanced with 1.2. It is absolutely unknown what exactly effect it may have on pvp gameplay. Right now any such discussion is absolutely useless and waste of time, as well as asking for other classes nerf's. Wait for 1.2, get enough information, and then ask it again if needed.
