  1. What exactly do you mean by sandbox elements? Are you entirely sure you know what you want? I think the "WoW formula" works because it gives everyone a specific goal to work towards. Want to raid, here's bosses. Want to PVP, here's players. I dont' see how an open do whatever you want world would bring people in. EVE is very sandboxy, letting you go wherever and do whatever, but is it fun? I can't say it is, there's no real objective, no carrot on a stick for me to chase other than to try and figure out how to make money for better ships, that's all there is.
  2. Well, BioWare did say that 1.3 would have a much shorter development time than 1.2. 1.2 took 3 months, and summer starts 2 months after 1.2 has been out. Now I realize that even if they release it 1 day sooner than 1.2 was out, it's still faster, but the community isn't going to see it that way, I really think it will have to be out by the start of June to be well received, or players will be upset, and I'm sure some will still quit on principle. I really hope it's out by mid June, especially since I don't intend to come back if 1.3 isn't live before my sub runs out. I realize they need to develop stuff, but they need to keep players happy as well. I wish they would have just dropped legacy to work on other more important features like character copies, server transfers, LFG tools, and other quality of life before worrying about RP aspects of the game. I'm also concerned about how the development process will be after this. Without Legacy and other tools to develop, will content come out every month, ever 3 months like it is now? Will content patches actually be full and have plenty for us to do. Will operations have more than 4 bosses? What about new warzones? New Gear? New set bonuses? These are all things I'm concerned about, and would really like BioWare to share their ideas on more regularly and openly. That's my biggest complaint with their development of this, everything is so hush hush when it's an important topic, they don't talk about it. Tell us about your future plans, give us details, some of us want that.
  3. Honestly, what they should be doing is when they have a build they're testing, they need to release it to the PTS immediately so that players can actually test it. The PTS should NEVER shut down as BioWare should constantly be putting beta builds of patches out so we can test them all the time. They really need to get character copies done, and keep beta builds of patches on them.
  4. I wouldn't call Legacy fluff. It's clear that bioware intended, and still intends, for this game to be played by alt-o-holics, and not by 'hardcore' raiders and pvpers. They pointed out at the guild summit that we spend way too much time playing the game as it is, so if we're not finding enough to do, it's kind of our own fault. I'll keep my sub up mostly because I'm payed up until the day before my daughter is born, so we'll see what happens.
  5. Regarding legacy gear, I was wondering if there are any plans to implement 'heirlooms', ie gear that will scale with your level and provide a fair XP boost (somewhere between 20 and 50%)?
  6. It's not an operation, why do people keep calling stuff by the wrong names? I correct kids all day long when they spam "LFG normal ops lvl 25+" No you idiot, it's a flashpoint, get it right.
  7. Why do people not realize that the current loot system is not aware of group composition. WHY DO YOU KEEP POSTING THIS. WE ARE ALL AWARE THAT YOU WILL GET DROPS THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE! IT'S DESIGNED LIKE THIS!
  8. Lol. I play carnage, and just save my interrupt, pop obfuscate, and force scream crit them into the ground.
  9. Seriously it warns you ahead of time. If you hate your name that bad just get people to report you for an offensive legacy name, I did it for my buddy and they let him change his because it "was offending people" just had every member of the guild report him on every toon.
  10. Just leave the planet early.
  11. There's a republic side? Honestly, from playing both sides it seems like BioWare really doesn't care about Republic. All of the empire stories are better, the planets are better, and republic side honestly feels like they had their interns working on it.
  12. ^This. My friends list is only comprised of healers, and competent dps, even if they are intolerable human beings. I'd much rather play with jerks who can play the game than carebears who can't figure out that they should be attacking the tank's target.
  13. Yeah not sure what you're complaining about here. Sorcs are the one class I have the easiest time facerolling in warzones. Ops and BHs? No, they actually cause trouble for me.
  14. I was under the impression that trauma probe heals for 300-350 for 10 stacks, meaning over the duration it heals for 3k-3.5k, and is essentially on a 30 second cooldown seeing as how a stack can only be used every 3 seconds... assuming a stack is used every 3 seconds the effect will be used up within 30 seconds. Actually I misread your post. Still I don't see how an ability that costs 2 ammo that you'll use once every 30 seconds is too high of a cost.
  15. It's simple, make sure you use rail shot immediately after rocket punch. Then you can't rocket punch for 9 more seconds and know the ICD is up before RP is off cooldown.
  16. Actually, he's right. You can't "fix" imbalances, because that's all on the players. Getting tired of Imp on Imp huttball? Reroll Republic. That's about all it is. I think the problem with MMO's these days is people want to play the '******' characters, ie horde for wow, defiant for rift, and no one has any real interest in being the 'good guys' at all. But, it doesn't help that every aspect of the Empire side seems much better. Every time I play my imp toon I always say to myself, "Man, I bet they were drunk when they did Republic side, it *********** sucks compared to this."
  17. It doesn't matter, because now they can't protect casuals at all anymore. Because people are going to say, "Upload your combat log after we down a boss." and someone is going to say "no," then get kicked, or put up their log and maybe get kicked for under performing. BioWare cannot protect players forever, because the hardcores are always going to find a way to maximize performance and single out players who aren't doing as well as they should be. I just don't see what the issue is. If you suck, then you suck, quit taking part in group content or get better.
  18. Agreed. I cancelled too, stating "I have no interest in playing until a strong emphasis is put onto giving us end game raiding content. I'm pleased with the pvp change as I can stop playing with ******* now, and actual skilled players. Also your current LFG tool needs some serious (cross realm) improvement."
  19. Lol server reputation? Doesn't matter, as I was playing on Wall of Light for a while and degraded every player I could. I call everyone names, I kick people from groups for being terrible, but no one argues it because I'm one of the few tanks left on the server. So yeah keep your server community and rep because it doesn't really matter.
  20. This is why we need a dungeon finder, but the community would die. Apparently the community on your server is already dead. Doesn't seem to be any care bears waiting on fleet to run FP's all day.
  21. I could care less. Honestly the only planets I can remotely remember seeing are tatooine and hoth, probably because it's just one color on the whole planet. Once you're 50 you're just gonna be PVPing, crafting, and raiding so what does it really matter?
  22. Nope that's dumb. Just skip **** man, no one really cares, and I'm sure bioware realized their errors well after they had it all voice acted. The planets aren't that great, **** most of them make me sick of playing the game and the voice acting is just aggravating. I can't tell you how annoyed I am that I can't just set dialogue to auto skip. Pick my answers for me, that's fine, I don't really care about the story anyway, I just wanna PVP and raid, taht's it.
  23. Actually, the community is killing the community. I know you think that we don't need server merges but we do. I play on two servers: Canderous Ordo and Wall of Light. During peak times, the fleet on Canderous has 200+ people on it, and finding groups for flashpoints and what not is easy. On Wall of Light, Server Peaks at 70, too many players on the fleet aren't level 50, and finding a group takes an excessive amount of time even though I'm a tank. Smaller servers need to be merged into other servers to give us fleet sizes like Canderous, because in its current iteration, the community is killing itself, especially as players begin to recognize who is who on there server. Actually, my guild got a player blacklisted from the other top raiding guilds on wall of light because he sucks, and we told them he sucks, why should he be allowed to ruin other's fun? Well with cross server LFG he wouldn't have to worry about his server rep, or generating server rep for being such a ****** player, he can just get in, clear the FP and get the **** out WHICH IS WHAT WE ALL WANT TO DO. I don't know about you, but having to actually look for a group is *********** stupid.
  24. Agreed completely. I don't see why it's necessary to constantly change your characters outfit though.
  25. Because if you look at your credit card statement, the description of your sub fees isn't "Sub fees paid to have whiney little kids ruin the money you're spending because they refuse to ply the game like they're supposed to."
