  1. First, could you type out a complete thought with proper grammatical structure so that everyone here can understand the issue that you're complaining about without it sounding like a jumble of words that you need to read through about 4 times to completely understand the message that you're trying to convey with your post? Second off, unless they changed the mechanics in the Official Launch patch, then whenever you use your Railgun it should zoom in automatically.
  2. So when you guys do this do you check your ranges? Anything outside 3750m w/ quads is most likely missing. That's also why Rapidfire works "better". Range is closer, and it has a higher RPMS that it can be shot at giving the player a more real and tactile response from the weapon.
  3. Since Patch 2.0 was deployed, the above is how Alacrity now works. Hence why your channel time is not reducing as you would expect. The above quote was taken from this news article on the website.
  4. I lol'd so hard at that article. You can just feel the sheer amount of reporter bias in it.
  5. So how does this work? Are all the XP amounts just doubled, or is rested XP taken into consideration as well? I noticed on the announcement page that Cartel XP Boosts are doubled in addition to the Doubled XP, but I saw nothing about rested XP being taken into account. I have multiple toons that I'm leveling to 50 right now in addition to my few that are already 50. Therefore a good amount of my toons have rest XP accumulated for at least a level or 2 (I think it caps on 2 levels worth), so if I get quadruple XP during these weekends that'd be great, but if I'm still just going to get Double XP, I don't see how that makes this weekend any different from any other weekend. Anyways, if a Dev could answer this, that would be great!
  6. Well seeing as how a DPS should be worried about damage output and not their defensive cooldowns, I don't see the issue here. As an advanced class with a tank tree, you'll gain some naturally tank like abilities, however their effectiveness is usually improved via the tanking skill tree. The DPS trees of the Tank classes do usually have 1 or 2 passive skills that you can invest some points into, in order to make up for the time length for the cooldowns on some their defensive abilities. However, Heavy Armor does a lot for damage mitigation. Try checking the % of Damage Reduction that you get from your armor next time you play on a DPS with Med, or Light armor, and then compare that to you a DPS that uses Heavy Armor. Either way, if you're playing DPS, then worry about killing things FASTER. Not SURVIVING. Your Survival will be guarantee'd at end game if you let the tanks do their jobs.
  7. I do end up kicking them. Every time. It's just very irritating when I have to stop playing to look at the tank's gear and abilities and realize that they're an idiot. Also, yes you would think that in pre 50 FP's that a tank class toon would be able to tank just fine, even if they are not a pure tank, however when you run into dozens of these idiots who first off don't even use their tanking stance, but secondly play like a dps, then you'll start to realize the frustration I'm running into. I don't care how many high threat abilities you have, if you're not using a threat generating rotation, not using a tanking stance, and you don't have a shield generator equipped then you are not a tank, and thus you should not be queuing in group finder to play as one. Especially when you're not even going to try and pull enemies off of the healers and the dps who are actually playing their roles correctly.
  8. *** is up with this lately?! As I'm leveling some alt dps's I constantly find that the tanks who queue in GF are actually 'Tank' classes that can spec for dps as well. The biggest offenders have to be the new F2P Juggs though. My god, the amount of times I have to sit there and ask the Tank to switch to Soresu form is ridiculous. Can Bioware implement some feature that forces these ******s to actually use their tanking stances when they queue as tanks? That might seem a bit extreme, but in reality they should already be using the stance in the first place. Anybody else been running into this lately? 'Tank' classes that are not using their tanking stances, sometimes don't have shield generators, and or are equipped in pure DPS gear with not even a single defense, shield, or absorb stat boost?!
  9. Uhhh... Warzones are TEAM based PvP matches. Hence players that stick in groups and coordinate will win out over an opposing team who has players that feel like they can "Lone Wolf" a match. This is especially true in Lvl 50 PvP.
  10. So basically the same as the Jedi Knight & Sith Warrior but with their armor levels bumped down by one, and the DPS only AC being a double bladed saber and not dual wield? Sounds like a waste of time honestly...
  11. Like the above mentioned, I'm pretty confident that Lightning has a better burst, and the AoE is pretty versatile considering it's an instant channeled ability. The one thing you have to figure out when playing with the lightning spec, is when to go all out, and when to back off. Positioning is key, but you also have to keep in mind that some abilities are channeled, so judging the distance between you and the enemy when you start your channel, and when/if you should break it early, in order to use your knockback. Lightning's upper tree skills lend themselves very well to the play style of the class. The Lightning Storm perk is extremely useful, and despite it's low percentage chance rates, it seems to activate A LOT giving you lightning chain, which you can then pair with your AoE. Your AoE will also generally stun most enemies in PvE allowing you to channel for the full time. Also note the Lightning Barrage perk, very beneficial as well. I'd say once you hit 50, give Lightning a try again, especially if you plan on focusing in PvE. It is more challenging but IMO pays off.
  12. I actually prefer the alacrity stat, and then go with either power or crit, whichever comes up first. Sometimes a one second or even 0.5 seconds can make all the difference in a fight when playing a casting class.
  13. Well considering you need 8-16 people for ops, it takes a little longer for the group finder to find all the people to fill the necessary roles.
  14. It gives you 2 additional ticks of damage, but the most important aspect of this skill though in my opinion is the longer time you have to cast Thundering Blast and still get the instant Crit damage bonus that you deal to any target you hit with TB who is already affected by Affliction. Not to mention the two additional ticks of damage will give you two additional chances to have your Affliction hit a critical, and grant you Lightning Barrage (Force Lightning channels, and ticks twice as fast). Therefore in my opinion, putting the two points into Exsanguinate is essential for any Sorceror doing a Lightning tree build.
  15. The only 50 I have is a Sorceror, but I can honestly say that I loved the SI story to death. I've played every other class to 21-29. The JK story is pretty epic, I must say, but like the others here have mentioned it seems that it was pretty much intended to be the default story to draw people in AKA "KOTOR 3". The SW's story is definitely very intriguing when played to a more lightside vibe, makes you feel a bit more in control of your "destiny" if you catch my drift. The SI story like I said though has been my favorite overall though. To put it simply, it's a giant prestige and power chase. You're constantly trying to prove yourself to the rest of the Sith, grow a power base, and strengthen your own powers as well. It's chalk full of scheming, overthrowing other Sith Lord's, and becoming an influential power that stands out among the rest of the Empire. It's not as "epic" as the JK story, but the feeling of accomplishment that you get definitely makes up for that in my opinion.
  16. Your choices do matter vaguely. I didn't join the beta until they took out most of the big decisions (ie killing off companions). However your alignment does change the type of responses that come from your character when selecting on the dialogue wheel. They're subtle differences, but the darker you are the more sinister and less cheesy the "dark side" conversation options start to become. Also as you improve each companions affection rating you'll notice that they won't follow their "Likes" and "Dislikes" as strongly. For example in the Sith Inquisitor, I have Ashara close to 5k affection and I've begun to notice, that even though the conversation choices I'm making are not always the most logical ones (some are just plain dark side), that I'll get affection points, or that I won't lose points at all. It also depends on how far along you are in your companion's story line as well. They'll slowly start to be less questioning of your motives, and your alignment will bother them less and less. Now if I were to say lets kill all the women and children on that transport, Ashara would still lose affection points obviously. However I find that certain lines like "I will make examples of anyone who stands in my way" whether referencing Jedi or not, will actually win affection from Ashara now, when it use to either lose, or just be a neutral point for her. Again everything is really subtle unless you make a point of actually trying to notice the changes that happen in conjunction with your alignment, your companions, and the various choices you make during the major class quests. A lot of the choices you make outside of class quests will have no real impact at all though other than that simple in game mail. I do have to ask a question of some of the beta testers who played for a longer period of time... the affection bars with the companions... did it work like the ones in Dragon Age, where the companion would leave you if it went low enough after awhile? I also think they should've kept the ability to kill off companions though. There are definitely times that I look at Talos, or Andronikos and wonder to myself, "I never use you, and I never plan on using you... what's stopping me from pushing you out the airlock?"
  17. I'd say for explosions, and lots of blaster fire action, you should go with the Trooper class and specialize as a Commando. Lots of grenades, laser fire, and of course there's the Mortar Volley technique that you get pretty early on, and level's up quite nicely and allows it to stay pretty relevant. I've also seen quite a few Bounty Hunters in action while playing my main (Sith Sorceror), and they've got some pretty "explosive" abilities that make the game pretty fun to play. Hope that helps!
  18. I'm sorry about the whole 4Share thing, I posted somewhere else with this and people quickly let me know about that issue, so I've since then moved the file to mediafire. I'll be updating the download link in a minute when I finish posting this. Anyways, I also had a couple of people run into that problem as well. I did code all of this in Visual Studio 2010 using the latest version of Visual C++. That link that you have there will fix the issue. Sorry about all that.
  19. So I have like 7 months of programming experience and I just finished a 2 week project which ended up being a tribute to Pong. I themed it Star Wars, and it has sprite animations featuring Vader, and Luke, against a backdrop of Dromund Kaas, courtesy of this website. Therefore I figured it'd be suiting to share said game here, and see what everyone thinks. It's nothing super fancy, but I thought it was pretty cool/good for the amount of experience I have Without further ado I present Star Wars Pong! Download Link Just make sure that you keep the .exe in the folder with the animations otherwise they won't load correctly. Please take note that this will only run on a Windows OS, and will require the latest .dll of Visual C++. You can find the link on the Microsoft Download Center here Also feel free to run it through any spyware, or anti-virus scannign software you have, I assure you it's none of those things. Anyways enjoy, and take note that there is an instructions text file in the folder as well EDIT: Just noticed I posted this in the wrong Forum, needs to be switched over to Star Wars Discussion, sorry guys!
  20. Why would it be a prank? It's very real, looking at it right now as I sit here typing out this response.
  21. Well as an enthusiastic follower of pretty much everything Star Wars, I've been in a love with universe since I was introduced to it at a really young age. Therefore even though the symbol is related to this game, it's more over a display of affection and fondness of the universe that has held me captive since I was a child and really influenced me into reading (EU content), and playing video games.
  22. So... I got a tattoo of the SWTOR logo, mainly because it's Star Wars related and I've been wanting a Star Wars tattoo for awhile now, and when I saw the logo for SWTOR, I knew that was what I wanted. However I wanted it to be battle worn, and scarred. So this is what I ended up with XD http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ash4/421141_10150839058494307_832824306_12362705_1519900425_n.jpg Awesome or Awesome?
  23. I feel like I missed a lot of her dialouge while I was finishing Taris, and Quesh, because I saw the "speak in private option" a number of times, but when I fast traveled there, or wnet to my ship it would disappear. I've only had her first two ship conversations, and I finally made it to oth so I can actually receive affection again. I guess I'll just have to buy some gifts for awhile.
