  1. I see Tharan as more of a boss fight companion (when soloing heroics) rather than a companion for elites or less fights. Qyzen is a bit boring but as a seer we make a great team that can take on most enemies without much problem.
  2. Nice! A quick question, what helmet type is it that you're wearing and where did you get it? My sage is tired of all the frou-frou head dresses.
  3. I've seen sages in videos running around with helmets looking like the sith inquisitor ones (completely covering the face, think Revan or mexican wrestlers), does anyone know where to find those (preferrably moddable) and if there are any for light sided characters? I'm currently always hiding the head slot since all helmets except the headband has clipping issues with the hair, a full head type should avoid this (I hope)

    Thevtraps are fine as they are, one of the main huttbalm tactics (beside learning to actually pass the ball...) is knowing how to both avoid and use the traps. Pulls aren't as bad since you usually end up right on thedge and can quickly get out and knockbaks usually have a short range so if you end up in the middle then it's your fault for running to close to one with enemies nearby

  8. I suspected it had been removed. In the stress test weekend beta I got an Overkill version of an orange synthweavinge schematic from RE'inf but everytimr I tried to click on it my client crashed.
  9. Run Sensible person, run! These fora aren't meant for good advice, they merely exist for people to whine on and provide anecdotal evidence of why every class but their own is OP and should be nerfed this instance or SWTOR will die since the poster will cancel his subscription.

    PVP Healing Tips?

    Targeting allies currently sucks, unfortunately. I usually resort to clicking on the character models since the raid frame usually shows wrong health information. Another good way is to select one ally (preferrably a guild mate you can coordinate with over vent/TS) and have him as your focus target, any heal you cast when your focus modifier key is pressed will then target him.
  13. I sometimes wonder if these kinds of topics (along with the sorc/sage is OP!!1!) are made by people in queues who still haven't been able to play and just base eveything on what they've read. Either that or it's a guide for How not to play.
  14. I call BS on this. The long time CC of a sage/sorc breaks on damage and instantly fills the resolve bar so you can't be CC'd again for a while. If the "chain CC" is from stuns then they're cast by several enemies (and two stuns will fill up the resolve bar). How about instead of whining about CC people would take the time to learn how resolve works and how easily you can combine it with your escape ability to gain CC immunity for those times you need it (e.g. when you're carrying the ball)

    Inquis/Sage woes

    Most classes can crit for that much and more, provided they've got decent gear with expertise and/or surge. I'd say the reason sorc/sage is considered OP is that they get aseveral CC skills early on so they're good at lower levels. Going up against a high level sniper/gunslinger, operative/scoundrel, mercenary/commando or marauder/sentinel definitely seems to be much more difficult IMO. Sorc also give the imprssion that they're OP since all their attacks look pretty much the same so it will look like they're just spamming the same skill over and over again.

  17. Unless I'm mistaken Lift fills up the resolve bar completely so you'll want to first stun them in the hopes they'll use their escape ability and you can then lift them for the full PvP duration (which indeed is something like 8 seconds).
  18. Shield. The crit is nice but also easily gotten from gear, a better shueld will let both you and your allies survive longer which can be the difference between victory and defeat (which after the next patch will have a difference on your rewards)

Both are viable, power might be better for PvE content where you'll want to be able to use a constant decent level of healing in order to calculate your force usage while PvP might be better of where crits will benefit both your heals and some damage you want to throw out. You should always get your crit chance up to 20% though to make sure healing trance after rejuvenate will get a crit for your sacrifice.

  21. I can confirm that at least during the stress test weekend beta you could RE orange gear since I got an Overkill version of a synthweave schematic gotten from UT. The game crashed when I tried to click it though so it might have been something they'd forgotten to remove.
  22. I haven't tried it since beta pre-orange gear but can you still RE custom gear and learn a better version of it? It might have been removed since my char in the last beta weekend crashed if I clicked on the RE'd recipe, either that or I just had an irritating bug
  23. Use force lift to remove the most dangerous enemies from the initial fight but make sure you've turned off any companion AoE abilities.
  24. I did it at 30, first with Mr. Lizardface which failed since he died instantly when Vivicar resisted my interrupts and then with mr. Dandy scientist which succeeded and I never got beneath 75% health. The key seems to be to interrupt force crush and kite him. Theran's stun ability really helped as well since it gave me more time to use skills with a cast time.
