  1. just buy an orange one and mod it acordingly to your needs? Any orange commendations weapon will do, daily/gtn hilt, a gtn/daily/slavaged mod and enhancement and you are done, i honestly fail to see the problem.
  2. Zergs are bad for melees, really? Big surprise! Ilum is a good example for bad game design, but that's not exactly new information.
  3. he was talking about 5 stacks of 20% armor reduction each, and yes they are multiplicative
  4. that talent is pretty much worthless, it only prevents ravage from being interupted by interupt skills like the warriors disruption. Anything that causes you to lose control of your charakter is still interupting you (stun, knockback, choke, whirlwind, ...).
  5. read again, notice the have him stop attacking part before the taunt, profit. You have a point though but that could be explained with threat expiring in some way. I could give some examples that lead me to belive it acts the way i said it does, but then again, i can just test it and come back here after that, not now, time to get some sleep
  6. Well, easy enough to test that, have someone hit something, dont do anything, have him stop atacking it, taunt it and do nothing else. If it does put you at the top of the threat table at the moment of the taunt, you should still have the agro after the 6 seconds expire, from what i have seen mobs walk straight back. Edit: On topic, backhand is the only ability with a threat modifier acording to its tooltip, threat from other abilities should only be based on damage potential (no idea if non damage debuffs like sunder armor generate threat and unfortunatly no way of testing that without a combat log to crunch numbers). So, leaving backhand aside you should try to maximize your damage in order to maximize your threat.
  7. It's a bad tanking build with no real offensive gain. The advantages of Shien form over (unskilled) shiicho form are a 3% overall damage gain and a lot more rage generation, problem here being you have no worthwile way of actually spending that aditional rage making it rather pointless. You added a damage stance with little to no way of actually taking advantage of it. The stun on charge is bad because it adds to the resolve bar in pvp, the normal imobilizing effect doesn't making crash a wasted talent point. Having neither, sweeping fury nor enraged sunder willcriple your rage generation in soresu form badly. I could go on like this but honestly i don't see the point in doing so, hybrid spec are nice and fun if they work but this one is just totaly cripeled no matter what it tries to do. If you want a tanky dps pve/pvp hybrid spec go 14/27, it's the only reasonable option in that department at the moment. As far as pve goes, you can tank any hc flashpoint without planting a single talent point after you got some gear. On top of that i am fairly certain that any pve/pvp dps spec (especially vengance) in halfway decent defense gear would perform better at tanking hc flashpoints than the one you posted. It is simply a bad spec without a well-thought-out concept, no offens intended.
  8. The expertise rating on pvp gear forces you to keep a seperate gearset for pvp/pve, pretty much the same way resilence did in wow. The bonuses gained from expertice are clearly superior to the stat advantages same level pve gear has. On the other hand pvp gear is definitly inferior to pve gear in a pve szenario.
  9. Nope, taunt does exactly what the tooltip says, the target is forced to attack you for the duration of the taunt, threat levels are of no importance to the taunt mechanic nor are they manipulated in any way by it. It is true though that there are mmos that implement taunt in the way you described, getting attacked for x seconds or being put on the top of the threat list are the 2 common taunt mechanics in mmos.
  10. That spec is simply awfull, you give up a lot of nice stuff and get nothing worth mentioning in return. I agree that unstoppable is a great talent, but if you want it try a 14/27 spec. You could even try a 29/12 specc, basically trading crushing blow for unstoppable. Crushing blow is nice and all, but with a 15 sec cooldown not that important in the end, bw should really reduce the cooldown on that one, would make immortal play a lot more fluid.
  11. Vette is probably one of the best (if not the best) dps companion in the game. She owns, period. But honestly, doesn't matter that much, both get the job done. One of the problems is that companion ai acts... weird at times especially the melee companions. They lose a lot of dps if they are running around the place instead of wacking baddies, not that big a problem for the ranged dps companions.
  12. male 4, the only option really, first the sun blacks out, then it crashes into you = win
  13. well, that clears up that, so you just miss out on the daily commendations you get for doing the bonus series, no big deal.
  14. Belsavis bonus series is bound to your level, you get the starter quest for it on the belsavis space station upon reaching level 50. Ilum bonus series starter quest is the one bound to you finishing your class quest line, but you should still be able to do 1-2 of the dailies on ilum without advancing in the bonus series. Actually you might even be able to do more of them, the ilum and belsavis bonus series guide you around, but i am not sure how far they are needed to unlock the dailies. I am sure there are some daily quests on both planets that don't require you to advance in the bonus series.
  15. In that case you can still do the belsavis dailies, only the starter quest on ilum is bound to the class quest, just means you need twice the time and you have no access to the enhancement reward, because it's an ilum quest. But that should not be a problem, with the money you get for the belsavis dailies you can just buy em on the galactic trade market. Edit: that enjoying part was a sarcastic remark, wasn't it?
  16. With the way things work dragging an healer/tank through an hm is easier then an dps, mostly because enrage timers are really the only thing you have to worry about, assuming people know their job. You should have orange gear yeah? Do the dailies, you can buy level 50 epic armorings and a hilt for the daily commendations and some of the elite dailies get you epic enhancements and mods. If you do em all for 2-3 days you should get all you need for hms, worst case you have to spend some of the credits you earned along the way to fill in the missing parts, should be no problem. Actually you need no gear from the level 48+ normal mode flashpoints at all to get ready for the hms because of the dailies. Oh and eternity vault normal mode is really easy, once you are ready for the hms you are good to go for that one too. Guild mate was full columni within 3 days of being 50, got to hate his drop luck...
  17. Even nerfed biochem is still the only really useful option. unlimited use adrenals, medpacks and stim are just too good to even consider getting another profession.
  18. in my opinion rage vs immortal boils down to subpar dps with a taunt vs heavy supporter with decent cc and damage reduction abilities. In any competitive team setting immortal seems to be the only one really bringing something to the table. I have seen melee focused dps groups running around tearing everything to shreds with an immortal offering damage reduction, short duration cc and still noticable damage (dps gear). Rage in comparison has better damage but looses a lot of utility/survivability and i honestly don't feel like the damage gain is enough to compensate for that. On the other hand talking about competitive settings is pretty pointless looking at the current state of the game, too imbalanced. Juggs are in a rather bad spot in pvp in general, hutball being the niche were they are actually somewhat usefull, with immortal proofing more usefull then rage again. In the end it's all personal opinion, for me immortal in dps gear is the most fulfilling experience, doesn't have to be the same for you. However i'd recommend getting the dps gear prior to the defensive one (exception being the shield), you'll get it all in the end anyway.
  19. if you master the power of los it can become a mighty ally young apprentice. Darth Barras that old fart should have told you that, but it might have been one of the secrets he intended to keep hidden
  20. Actually the difference in threat generation is the only real problem. Beating the enrage timer seems to be the biggest concern in most boss fights on higher difficulties. Burst agro and constant single target agro apear to be better on the other tank classes making them the better choice for most of the raiding encounters. So, yeah, immortal juggs are fine but a little buff in the threat generation department wouldn't hurt.
  21. don't forget enrage, 60sec cooldown, -3sec cooldown for every sweeping/vicious slash used if you specced sweeping fury. if you find yourself rage starved and ravage is on cooldown, you made something wrong. rage shouldn't be a problem, threat generation is at times but meh...
  22. 20% damage reduce on white hits with a 5% proc chance, or an item with 20-30% more offensive stats? without a combat log to actually parse combat data you won't be able to notice a difference, assuming you are not using the defensive stance. i am leveling a rage with quin at the moment, downtime is not so bad. most important tipp to reduce downtime is that resummoning or mounting up and down is a lot better to regen your companions life then channel hatred. if you are doing that you should not have more then a few seconds of downtime after each fight.
  23. Daily commendations can be optained on belsavis too, just go there you'll get the bonus quest series which will lead you around to the other quests. The implants and earrings are nice, but for gearing up you should be more intrested in the armorings and hilts (barrels for non force classes or your companions) for your armor and weapons. You get those for 8 commendations each and they are more than enough to get you through bt hc and some of the others if you know what you are doing. Farming pvp gear is nice too, it's decent for pve as a starter and you can take the modifications out from duplicate pices to update other gear. The operation eternity vault is bug infested but rather easy on the normal mode, more so than most of the hc normal flashpoints in fact, get a random group for it if you are not in an guild. Happy Farming
  24. Make a software firm, deliver comercial software in this state (well microsoft is kind of the exception to the rule) and tell me how long it took the ship to sink. You know, at some point those guys realised we want to play theire games and they can get away with late alpha early beta state releases BUT what the ***** is going on in the minds of people actually defending them for doing so? I mean seriously, you like getting screwed over? Because someone else did it it's ok, really? You know i really like this game, it has a lot of potential but i am kind of working in the software buisness too and that's just not the way you should ever treat paying customers, it's just not ok. State of the game, customer support, information policy, lets just say there is a lot of room for improvement.
  25. That's funny, Quin (heal stance!) should take care of that for you. Also keeping the hilt in your lightsaber up to date helps a ton. Doesn't have to be an epic one, blue is good enough, only difference are the bonus statts, but the rating (damage) is the same. That's also true for armoring and mods, keep em up to date and you should be fine. If you don't have Quin with level 25 yet, don't forget those class quests
