  1. Honestly, just hang tight for a week, or if you can't do that, reset the mission. It'll only reset you to the point where the story arc that sent you there was.
  2. That's also a quest reward from Corellian Heroics, the wookie battlemaster one I think.
  3. Please do your own testing, and come up with your own conclusions, repeating the opinions of others does not bolster your argument. Play a Tracer Missile Mercenary and find out the limitations, go duel a few of them. If you can interrupt them, or los them, you win.
  4. I, for one hope that Bounty Hunters get brought into line with Troopers on our class mechanic, that would be my hope for this 'nerf'. Also that our cast animations become a better mirror of theirs. The rest of it is going to make or break the game for me, if I see heavy handed slamming nerfs, I'll find a more fun way to spend my time and gaming dollars. I didn't spend all these hours just to end up being useless in pvp or hard modes. On the other hand, if I see changes that make sense, like reducing our armor penetration on Superheated Rail by half even, then I'll adjust, keep playing, and have fun. I do think it's very childish the way they phrased the whole thing, 'Oh and we're uhm, gonna nerf the Bounty Hunter, uhm, but won't say how ya know.'
  5. I don't use a title, ever. In pvp it's more red space for them to click on, also, everyone wants a piece of a battlemaster or champion to prove their worth. I'll stay anonymous and give them fire.
  6. In mostly Champ gear, after popping 220 crit/surge relic and Explosive Fuel I pull 3.4k dmg on each of my Rail Shots, and around 2.8k on my Rocket Punch, and 1.2k on FB. I don't think that's out of whack because it's so dependent on luck to get the PPC proc. Although, I could see them lowering the percentage of the proc because Sages that sit still and heal get upset when they die because someone is hitting/disrupting them.
  7. I disagree, respectfully, with your assessment of the grapple, and interrupt viability in merc pyro vs pt pyro. The reason being, all the pyro abilities are instants. Nothing to interrupt really, and grapple gets offset by backdraft. Then we move on to abilities, Power Surge vs Volatile Fuel (whatever the +crit is for pt). Power surge makes a merc ability instant cast, and Volatile Fuel drastically raises crit chance for pt, both are very handy, the merc's skill for casting a heal on himself, the pt's for doing more damage for 20 seconds. I think it would come down to one thing in the end, Cure (another instant). The merc's ability to remove negative dots and affects. That would mean that he could remove the first dot applied by the pt, and effectively negate the first rail shot as well as keep his mobility, but that's just my theorycraft. I've yet to duel a pyro specced merc. edit - The PT has the same armor value as the Merc, other than the shield, there's no real difference to defenses afaik.
  8. This would be cool, as long as I wasn't 2 feet off the ground and doing it, I'd be all concerned about whacking a rock in the road. If I whacked a rock, going 150mph or whatever, no matter what helmet I had on there would be serious brain trauma. I'd get out of the hospital with one big eye, and one little eye, sit in a corner everyday drawing big circles on my face in red crayon asking "Is My Makeup on Straight??!" forever after...
  9. Hmm, wow, I'm going to assume the OP learned english later in life than I did. 9% Aim bonus is a bonus to our crit% and extra damage done, it has nothing to do with actually aiming the blaster, or blasters if you are a merc. Rocket Punch doesn't knockback? If you roll merc and spec it, it does, and they need the extra knockback. As for the carbonize problem you have, well, carbonize breaks on damage. So, if you carbonize a group of people and then do a flamespin, they all get to move again after they take damage. That also counts for pre-existing dots and other damage. Flamespin not hitting all your targets? You should become a better judge of distances, and also, don't forget without perfect accuracy, it's not going to hit 100% of the time and that's not even taking into account the targets' defense. About reality and physics, uhm, 'lightsaber' is all I have to say on that.
  10. PT pyro is a little different from merc pyro, the merc has an easier time getting the bonus 9% Aim than a PT would. For the Merc it's 3 pts in the base of a tree, for a PT it's 8 pts, admittedly the 5 previous pts are a worthwhile investment, but only if you accept the limitation that you may not have improved stealth scan or even TD. The merc, in my opinion, would also have a point spread advantage due to the talents, Hired Muscle (6% bonus crit) and Improved Vents (8 extra heat vented per pt). Both of these are base of the skill trees. He could spec up to Upgraded Arsenal (3% bonus crit) taking Iron Sights (9% Aim) and Mandalorian Iron Warheads (+10% missile damage) as well as getting Thermal Detonator, and the improved proc rate of Rail Shots. The Powertech, I think, would be at a slight disadvantage in a pure pyro spec, and a major disadvantage without TD in his spec. Reason being, in order to be 100% effective in play, the pyro absolutely MUST remain within 10m of his target. The Merc has the missile upgrade 10% damage, and Fusion Missile, with a 30m range, concussion missile, 30 m range, and a knockback and his spec will proc his snare on the PT 100% of the time. So, in theory, both players being exactly equally skilled, I think the merc would win more often than not.
  11. ^^ That guy has it right. PvP comes down to three things, Gear, Spec and playing your spec (skill).
  12. I'm a regular Rail Shot user, so yes I can say definitively that this talent functions as intended.
  13. The wookie kid "Lumpy" was enough to get me to turn it off.
  14. The original 1978 version, complete with Chewies' kids... Enjoy! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbF_ecnlyTk
  15. Well, I could see quite a few players brandishing their poopsicles now... Thanks for the disgusting visual!
  16. I'd just like to point out that having the faster cc break cooldown has saved my bacon more times in pvp than the damage boosts. I just wish our set had the option of a damage boost to rail shot instead of rocket punch
  17. From no centurion gear to fully equipped cent, some champ, 1 week. No Guild. That's right, I have pugged it for full centurion gear. I kind of feel like I should have a sign and stand outside 'Will Pug For Cent Gear!'
  18. I'll be honest, I don't really know. I have 107% tech accuracy and I don't miss any more. At 90% I'd say I missed once every ten shots, which sucked when it was the Rail Shot that would decapitate an enemy healer. I don't have accuracy on my weapon, just on the centurion pvp gear and I've actually removed some of those enhancements and replaced with crit because I was around 110% tech accuracy, and 100% base. Now I do more damage and hit just as much, but then Rail Shot is a vital part of my build.
  19. I'd have to agree with less medals and winning vs losing any day of the week.
  20. This is an issue of playing your interrupts and stuns correctly. I'm not trying to be rude but it's just not that hard to solo a healer, especially a bounty hunter merc or trooper commando who is heal specced. What class are you playing that has such a hard time killing a healer anyway?
  21. When I hear people cry for more OWPvP what they seem to mean is 'I want to jump folks from cover/stealth/surprise and kill them easily' In a word, Ambush Gameplay, which is fine, I just wish they'd come out and state it, if they wanted 1v1's or 2v2's or ranked arena matches they'd ask for that. Instead they want a place where they can be malicious and get rewarded for it. At least that's what I see, after 10 years of mmo gaming. I like the chess match and teamwork of a War Zone. The numbers are (mostly) balanced, the objectives clearly stated, and it quickly becomes apparent who's contributing to the group goal and who isn't.
  22. I gotta say, the Trooper has tons more cooler armor, especially the helmets... I so want to steal one of those trooper helmets for my powertech instead of the stupid bug helmets.
  23. We're just a fairly polite collection of people, because there's not much of the flaming and denigration I grew accustomed to in Warhammer, Rift and other games. So Cheers to the Hunters!

Check out the 'Carolina Parakeet' build options and 'Iron Fist' in the Powertech subforums, there's alot of good info there. I used Iron Fist from level 11 to 50, and had a great time doing it, I just recenly went pyrotech dps and I'm having a good bit of fun with it too. I routinely solo healers/tanks with my build/playstyle and hope you enjoy the class as much as the rest of us do!
