  1. LOL. So SWTOR is giving us a free day for the downtime. That's about $.50 per sub or roughly a cool million out of their pocket. Some engineer's mistake cost them a million dollars. I'd hate to be that guy.
  2. Well said. The competition for my MMO time is going to heat up from multiple titles in less than a month. Bioware should be OVERLY sensitive to arriving competition and have had better quality control than what has been demonstrated. This is the real problem that they are now seriously facing. Just because you see supersonic growth at release, doesn't necessarily mean you'll be able to hold those subscribers in the face of new (and high quality) competition. Especially if you are demonstrating extremely poor quality.
  3. I think that those that support or deal with bad quality control from BW are the minority here. Yes issues do happen, but this is recurring and systemic.
  4. Let's translate what Bioware has made in terms of revenue from the subscriber base .. then let's hear you try to justify the "they can do no wrong" or "mistakes happen" excuses which defends horrible service levels and quality control. From February: EA announced it sold 2 million units of Bioware’s MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic, which currently has 1.7 million daily active subscribers, making it the “fastest growing subscription MMO in history,” according to the firm. 1,700,000 * 15 = $25,000,000 / month From November 2011: “The revenue split is around 35 per cent to LucasArts after EA earns back their investment." I don't think they have earned the initial investment back (which some say is around $200mm) -- so, lets break down the staff: 30 Producers / Project Managers 75 Designers 80 Engineers 40 Platform 10 Localization 10 Audio (not including LucasArts) 140 Artists 280 QA (How can the size of this team miss a glaring patch issue like 1.2a?) 665 people total So, given certain assumptions, with this staff and operational costs, I think that they are still making around $6-10mm a month profit. At the end of last year, a leading analyst was quoted as saying that Bioware would see profitability at around 500k active subs. Given all of this, poor quality is just not acceptable.
  5. It's great that you are "standing up" for the quality that has been so far a disaster. Given that this is one of only a few titles that is asking for a month subscription fee, I do have expectations of quality. This isn't a F2P game (yet). Not standing up for what we expect in quality as a community will only drive more inadequacy from the engineering team. We need to know that game instability is being addressed from a management perspective. Period. I don't just want an apology, I want change within the leadership of Bioware to address the poor execution of the engineering teams.
  6. So we are paying them for access to a service that is sub-par in quality. It's "as-is" and there are no guarantees to quality? Hm. I don't think the community-at-large is willing to accept that. Our subscription fees keep the engineers and QA folks on staff, so yes, we are paying them.
  7. Ahh. Now we have more reveal from Bioware. The 1.2a minor patch is really the final straw that represents just how bad the quality assurance team at Bioware is managing their product. This is a joke. Bioware needs to apologize and provide refunds. We are PAYING these people to provide quality!
  8. So what you are telling me is that Bioware Customer Service doesn't have a clue as to what Bioware management is saying? Why would Bioware CSRs be touting that it is being looked into and the functionality is not what is intended? BIOWARE RESPOND. NOW.
  9. For what it's worth, I found this little gem on the SWTOR twitter feed today. Apparently, they recognize that the BM set bonus transfer to the new orange War Hero gear is not working as expected. This was noted more than once today by a SWTOR CSR and they claim that they are investigating the issue. Here is a screenshot of the offical SWTOR twitter feed with the comments below: http://imgur.com/ExB3T

  11. I think this summed it up for me as well. I can't believe with the type of investment that has been made in this game, coupled with the millions gained in revenue from subscription fees that Bioware couldn't provide the type of quality that a AAA title should have. QUALITY above all else is priority number one. 1.2 didn't meet the right expectations that were set by Bioware and to top it off the quality is horrendous. I'm not far from canceling my subscription either.
  12. This is the republic version, just the same as a CE version but with racing stripes. http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/8027/53824097.jpg
  13. full auto is bad, you should feel bad for using it. worst skill ever that only shoots twice when being hit. You could be doing 2 grav rounds in the same time for more damage.
  14. Based on leveling to rank 64 almost valor I can agree with the statement that warzone games start when only 6 players queue up. On my server though there is enough republic population to fill the last 2 slots after a few minutes. Against non-premade sith or bad premade teams against me in a pug it usually doesn't matter that they have a small advantage. Just like how sith has its turrets pointed at the repub ship making a 5 pt lead every time doesn't hurt that much but it is advantage.
  15. any k series sandy bridge can hit 5.0ghz without needing your "extreme" processor thats extremely expensive. Grats on wasting 3 to 5 times on the processor.
  16. Rng in heroic essles is rediculous. Random 1 shot lighting and 2 shot saber throws that might hit some twice in a row
