  1. Doing all of the GSI Dailies are a huge time sink. Hoth is the worst followed by Alderaan. for every 5-10 minutes you spend driving around, you spend 3 seconds using your droid or binos. You can't even get into a routine because of randomness. If you do just the Heroic 2+ you get 20 Basics per day and you can do it in less than an hour plus, you get the weekly done in 3 days. The only one that make take a little time is Alderaan, but that's only if you have to go to the third location, but at least you get 8 Basics for it. This is all I do now.
  2. Crafting as a whole is a complete abortion right now and I doubt it will change. 69s are craft-able but it is really cost prohibitive to make it. I mean really, you can't craft 72s yet and I am fine with it, but the MMGs should not be required to make 69 rated gear. They only drop in HM SnV and TFB which drops 72s. You can farm HM FPs for all the 69 gear you desire. If anything they should increase the number of EEs for 69 gear to like 6 and then remove the requirement for MMGs. EEs increase in value and people can stockpile MMGs for 2.2.
  3. This also drops in Karraga's Palace Story mode and there's another that drops in Eternity Vaults SM or vice versa.
  4. I'm sorry, but this would be a no go....You'd have to change the animations and abilities because some abilities require a certain weapon to use. Sentinel/Marauder double saber throwing 2 pistols... Jugg/Guardian single throwing a rifle or Assault Cannon... A 'slinger or Merc running around with 2 lightsabers or other melee weapons... A Merc or Commando using Full Auto/Unload with a Lightsaber....Yea...ok... Need I go on?
  5. Sounds like there wasn't a change with today's update then...It always KD trash mobs, but nothing else. Silly me for assuming that they changed it to where it would KD more than the status quo.....
  6. Any thoughts on the change to Mortar Volley? I think it should help a little, but the big green don't stand here circle is still a giant give away....
  7. Nice idea, I think we'd see guild Capital ships before this though. The game is too linear, although an Open World PvP Planet for PVE servers would be nice.
  8. IMHO, there is no need to use a tank companion when you have HK-51. Even with the crafted armor from daily now classic comms he is a sturdy killing machine. I use him exclusively on my Scoundrel healer. On my Tank, its HK unless its a hard mob/Heroic, then I'll put up with Theran. On my DPS, I use my healers almost exclusively, although I will pull out HK for trash. They do need to fix Tank Companions with 2.0. With the new level cap damage reduction is still down about 5 % fully geared.
  9. I could see doing it for HK and your ship droid but not the others because not all classes have droids. It would be nice though if you could build suits based around your gathering skills. Let's face it the sensors overall are garbage. Some crafting classes get crit chance increase while others get efficiency. Same with gathering. There is no reason why they couldn't do a droid set for the ship droids that affects an entire package. For example, a "biochem" suit would give an overall total of +5 Crit to Biochem, Diplomacy, and Bioanalysis, and +20 to each for efficiency. This could be done with all creskills and if you make augments there is a substitutable piece that swaps out like Underworld Trading for Slicing if you have an Armormech.
  10. The only thing puzzling me on the dye kits is that they should have made a primary and secondary dye slot and then made all the primary and secondary colors separate. Black could still be the super rare for both primary and secondary colors, but it would exponentially expand the the color options available to players. But instead we get the cookie cutter approach with 95% horrendous, 3% meh, and 2% good color combinations. I saw a green and yellow Dread Seed Armor yesterday and he looked like Merman from He Man.
  11. Again...this thread is about enhancing or giving tools to the Merc/Commando to make them RWZ viable, not murdering derps in WZs. They are better in 2.0, however they still need some work. With all of the elemental/internal damage thrown around in PvP in general and the short TTK, there is absolutely no advantage to wearing heavy armor over medium when superior DCDs make the difference in a short fight. Don't give me ~2 maybe 3% damage reduction that does not apply to crits or internal and elemental damage. Sniper/Slinger DCDs are head and shoulders above anything Commando/Merc have, plus you have interrupt immunity and better abilities for creating and maintaining space.
  12. I would assume, that there could be a away to trigger bolster if you're flagged. That in itself would stop the pylon farming in leveling too fast because of ganking.
  13. It was the same in SWG except it was taken a step further. If you were an alien species and were of the Imperial Faction, Faction Items would cost more from Vendors. I don't see how it falls flat...That's like saying talking about or portraying slavery in entertainment is a bad thing. Those who don't remember the past are destined to repeat it. George Santayana
  14. I started Hoth on my Shadow at 34-35 and had no issues, but I kept up to date on blue armorings replacing every 4-5 levels and bought purple hilts/armorings for my weapon and offhand. Same with Theran, I kept him in full blues. If you are 4 levels below your mob it will take a while as you will miss a lot. 5 levels and you won't do damage. If you need a couple more levels space and PvP are your friends as it's fairly easy and quick xp.
  15. Commando probably has one of the simplest rotations in game. It does have a proc, curtain of fire, but all it does is reset Full Auto. It's important, but not a requirement to set up other attacks like dot classes. The healing and in combat CC also give great pve utility.
  16. This.....Heavy Armor doesn't balance out the superior DCDs that Snipers/Gunslingers and Marauders/Sentinels have. Which is amplified by the short TTK in PvP. Reactive Shield is ok, but Adrenaline Rush is a non-factor in PvP.
  17. Well, if you go Vanguard, you'll be sturdier if you're shield spec, but you lose some abilities that allow Commando to thrive in the solo area. Did you level your Merc as a healer or DPS and how often did you upgrade gear, specifically armorings? If you raid or pug a lot I'd say go Vanguard tank as you'll get insta queues all day and be in demand especially if you're good. If you're not, I'd say go Commando because there isn't 1 H2 daily you should have an issue with. When I leveled my Commando, I leveled as a healer for the bulk of it and it was more challenging than DPS (the fights were much longer). Another thing I'd recommend if you haven't is max your companions affection on your merc, the additional 50 points of presence is huge and legacy wide. Remember, the first character is going to be hardest because you're starting from scratch, when I leveled my second, third and 4th chars it was easier each time because I had a source of credits to keep the gear up to date as I leveled plus the presence bonus from each class completion. It turned my reasonable geared comps into super beasts for the first handful of planets.
  18. What's the matter, a FOTM keyboard turner get face rolled by a Commando/Merc? Although, I think it's funny that the one QQing about the thread s has FOTM written all over him/her....Let's see Sniper, lolrauder, and a Sentinel??? Probably got a smasher too.... 3/10 anyway
  19. Another side affect to this is if you have completed sets on companions. This only affects male toons with female companions. I have completed all 4 of the dancer/reveler outfits, but 2 of them are on my male scoundrel. I can't equip the items to get the unlock. Also, if you have a complete set, but it is scattered between several toons, will you get credit for it? I haven't had a chance to test it, just curious if anyone has.
  20. A spammable attack that can hit for 5-6k does not suck....lets see figuratively... GR - ~5000 + DR - ~9500 + FA - ~11000 = ~25500 (if geared.min maxed this will exceed 30k) damage in 3 GCDs or 6 seconds. Now that won't happen very often with the new crit chance, but that is a s***load of damage in 3 GCDs. Add in HIB which can crit for 8k with a 5k GR filler when others are on CD. There are murders when a Commando is left un attended.
  21. But we can't have legitimate reasons for crafters..... /signed
  22. I might be mistaken, but I thought expertise only mattered in FFAs and WZs. Either way it's just like camping a cloner in SWG while at war with another guild. Just log on to another toon or take a break until the kids go to bed or get bored.
  23. It would be a great idea, but they would have to overhaul the game to make it work. All planets would have to be accessible to both factions, fleet would have to go away, spaceports would have to be common areas, and the GTN/vendors would have to be in common areas as well.
  24. Why not have solo stuff. If you have deep pockets you can be fully augmented 69 gear without setting foot in any HM FP or OP. You just won't have the set bonus. How about this, for solo FPs or w/e the loot drops are armors with set bonuses for companions. I think it would be fun to have solo ops where you use more than 1 companion. It would be a change of pace from Ops and pulling your hair out because you got a derp in your group. I don't think you need a presence type set bonus, right now you can get over 1k presence between legacy and stims/food.
