  1. Look i build/fix computer's for a living, lets start with the basics, how many sticks of ram do you have? is it DDr2 DDr3? if you have multiple sticks, take them all out and only have 1 stick in, boot up the pc and run SW, has anything improved? no? ok fine, repeat until all sticks are tested individually, yes you could run a ram test, only takes half a day (my way is faster) ok so ram is tested its not that, do you have a spare hard drive? yes? ok cool, install windows 7 which takes very little time and update it, once done connect your old hard drive back to pc, boot it up and run SW from it, if it doesnt run, then copy paste the main folder into your program files, im not sure if SW allows you to do this, but eve,wow aoc etc do, so i dont see why it wont.. point of fresh install on blank HD is to remove any corrupted sectors and such also virus/spyware crap that can easily make your machine run like its bottlenecked to hell. Ok now you tested ram/HD and still no joy? cool, now and only now do i personally say it's your motherboard, sure it could be your PSU but im doubting it aslong as its above 500w. there is more you could do but thats my best advice for now. your new gpu can run SWTOR fine, your old GPU can run swtor much better then it was running for "you", so im ruling out the GPU being the problem. hope some of this info helps. Also is your hard drive a sata drive? or is it the older IDE? if it is IDE that also could be your problem because they are ancient
  2. It has nothing to do with his new GPU or the driver's for it....
  3. When will people learn that CPU>GPU nowadays, i can run SWTOR absolutly fine on my HD4870 and get well over 40fps in busy areas, having an i7 920 cpu makes allllllll the difference. not that your cpu is bad, but your old gpu was fine, something is bottlenecked, probobly a **** Motherboard or faulty ram.
  4. coming from playing wow for over 5 years, doing all the class/tbc/wotlk h/m raids, i can assure you gearscore is a horrible idea, all it done was brought out the big ******es in people who didnt want average geared players to join there group for a very casual/raid/dungeon, so no, gearscore does nothing but add epeen to those with no job no life so they can prance around in the major cities knowing others inspect them and go zomg his gearscore is twice mine!!! he is sooooo cool i managed to raid 40mans in wow, i managed to clear all of sunwell and be in a guild first on my server, yes it required work and dedication but no we did not need gear score. what you are missing is the obvious, for typical flashpoint/operations, you will have an easy ride, no need for gearscores, and for the much harder content that requires everyone being 100% focused and decently skilled, well this is a no brainer, you do that with a guild all on voice and everyone will be actually trying, as for non guildies trying to do this content, they will fail with or without gearscore as its not ment for that type of group. make some logic to backup why wow suddenly became amazing when gearscore came out, all i seen was nothing but elitist jerks and bully's. -1
  5. Eldren, use the damn marks from each planet to upgrade your companions gear and stop trying to be a bad troll, thanks.
  6. no offence but any half decent gamer will learn to heal very quickly, i played all 10 class's in wow perfectly fine with dual spec back in wotlk.
  7. Ye you are right, making warzones less imbalanced is cloning wow removing shards is cloning wow adding chat bubbles is cloning wow adding more lush enviroment is cloning wow and i never once said anyone who disagree's with me is a fanboi, if you actually took the time to read my post, i clearly said im sick of the typical "go back to wow" attitude from the bioware fans, who dont put any thought process into people's opinions. try harder bro.
  8. haha im just finishing work and going to rush to get ready for a good night out on the town, i am not the best at wording my voice on the forums and i probobly do contradict myself alot, but i just want this game to be a success more then anything.. anyways ye i shouldnt have typed after my first post
  9. Hmm i dont hate the game even if i have vented my rant.. i do not love the game aswell though, so i guess im in the middle.. i will hang it out for a few month's and see what happens im just not going to presume anything though.
  10. well finally someone who posted constructive answer to my issue's, i understand sharding reduces the wait time on quest mobs and such, but the enviroment in general is alot less then in other mmo's, they could have increased mob size and reduced mob spawn alittle and not add sharding, thus still giving a more lush enviroment both on real players all being on same zone and more overall mobs making the game feel less empty. chat bubbles isnt a big deal, im sure they said they are looking into it, but the point i was making is, why it wasnt in there from launch? just silly pvp brackets i dont agree with you on, claiming that if they introcuded brackets that they would all be empty because everyone will be level 50 is alittle bit harsh, there is plenty of people who play mmo's and love to level alts, there is also those not me of course who love the story and are more then happy to lvl up several alts, im pretty sure if this game had a solid player base, brackets would be fine, heck they could do something like this.. add brackets, but also leave the current one in game where all can join any lvl and use bolstering, give us the option to join 2 pvp match's at the same time, as in que them up, that way we join our bracket of choice which would be more enjoyable and also que for the current type, that way im sure the current type wouldnt have a long que time, but hey if it did you still might get your bracket pop up, that way everyone is happy no?
  11. lets forget world pvp i guess, meeting 1 opposing faction on a full server at peak time in tattooine after several hours of questing is ok. but it's ok, we will blame it on faction heavy side per server
  12. Im not asking for a Dev to come into my thread or anyone else's and answer my question's. It is this excat kind of brain fartting that made me write this post in the first place, they could make a sticky and address all the spoken about hundred's of times problems with the game, address the public, you know? just give us a heads up? but wait, they dont have time, they are to busy fixing the issues right? 1 person, basic salery, does the above, hard.
  13. you go on about me being a hardcore raider, even a casual raider is going to be disapointed, lets not forget about pvp, its just crap as is. but i guess if all the pvp'ers and pve'ers leave and all thats left is story driven fans, then the game is fine?
  14. Nope i dont expect everything to be fixed, do i expect them to employee one person on a basic salery to respond and update the community on the issue's that have been asked over and over again? yes, why yes i do.
  15. Like ive said several times now, people claim it's a matter of opinion, other's say its a bug/flaw in the game when someone can point out the good from the bad in my points, i shall listen to the "opinion" rather then presume it's logic. sharding in a game this big has no opinion, its logical that its a horrible idea. not adding chat bubbles, is logically a bad idea pvp brackets not in the game and lvl 50's just going around melting everyone's faces with there friends on teamspeak, is logically a bad idea need i go on?
  16. problem is if all us people take a hike, this game will be dead.
  17. Nice to see someone else with some logic.
  18. AoC did not flop because the DX10 option wasnt functioning lol.... AoC flopped because it had more bugs under the hood then anyone could handle.
  19. yup everyone complained about shards/instanced zones in wow, o wait? yup everyone complained about lack of chat bubbles, o wait? yup everyone complained about lack of ambiance lush enviroment (STV), o wait? yup everyone complained about pvp brackets, o wait? yup everyone complained about space bar spam, o wait?
  20. It is not about defending the game makes you a fanboy, its the typical defensive type that does. go back to wow al i hear is argh argh argh yet another thread with someone complaining i like the game so far, i find it "fun" so all is good, lets forget the future then you have other's who just reply with some crap and no valid backup. so no, if you give me a valid reason why shards/no chat bubbles/bolster system/no pvp brackets and any other point i put up including a disable story mode option are bad ideas, then please enlighten me without posting the generic response that you just done.
  21. Sure i did, did you miss the whole part about me being a mmo fan a starwars fan and just wishing for an option to disable the story "not remove" option? i guess you missed that.
  22. Couldn't disagree more with you on this, the one thing alot of people do not grasp is, this whole forum QQ vs the fans has happened on a bunch of other mmo's, AOC has some of the hardest fanbase i ever seen, people would destroy other's who voiced there concerns, but guess what, the game went from supreme potential at launch to the biggest flopped mmo in history in less then 2 months.
