  1. Jedi sentinal, middle tree. Can't think of the name right now but it's the middle tree. (sith have same class) It plays a lot like the classic ret pally. Go here to take a look at the skill tree. http://www.torhead.com/skill-calc#501.1 Oh and by the way, going in 1 talent tree can completely change the way the class plays. For example as a jedi sage if you use the middle tree you turn into an ele shaman and if you go down the right tree it turns you into a shadow priest.
  2. If or when they fix the ability delay in this game sents are going to be dominating... Only problem is you have to wait till then. Until they fix it sents will be mediocre at best.
  3. Today I spent 14 commendations on an lvl 16 orange weapon because it had higher stats than the one you get at level 10. I took all the enhancements off of it to see how much the base stats were different compared to the one I had... and the stats were exactly the same. So does that mean if I get a 4 or 5 slot item then I don't need to replace that item for the rest of the game? If that's the case, then what's the point of raiding to get an epic item if I can get an item that is possibly stronger by just getting purple enhancements? I mean, is it me or does that defeat the purpose of trying to get stronger gear if the base stats are exactly the same and it's only the enhancements that make it better. And if that's the case, then what's the point of even trying to get new gear if an item I have has max enhancement slots? Can someone explain this to me? Because the point of raiding, at least for me is to get better gear to be better at whatever role I am performing. When you raid do you only get enhancement items? Please clarify for me. It seems that getting new gear is pretty much only for looks. Is that the right assumption to have?
  4. The Madness tree pretty much makes you a shadow priest. The channeled spell = mind flay, your two dots = shadow word pain and devouring plague (instead of direct dmg on 2nd one it roots them for 2 seconds). And the proc you get is the same as using mind spike x3. Your dot crits also heal you which is pretty much a nerfed form of shadow form. The Lightning tree literally makes you an ele shaman. lightning strike = lightning bolt chain lightning = ... chain lightning affliction = flame shock thundering blast = lava burst and even auto crits when flame shock... i mean affliction is on the target. Also theres a talent that makes lightning strike and chain lightning have a 30% chance to do a copy of itself for 30% dmg. Anyway, I have no idea where you say it's an arcane mage.
  5. It's good now because you typically aren't fighting people that have all their moves. I.E. interrupts and such. When everyone is lvl 50 and has all their moves you won't be feeling over powered. Hell, the interrupt is on an 8 sec cd and locks you out for 4 seconds. When you constantly fight people like that you'll start thinking other classes are over powered.
  6. I know people don't like comparisons to wow, but when you come to a new game it can sometimes be overwhelming not knowing what class to pick because you don't know what any of them are like. So to give you an idea of how the jedi sage dps plays, ill give a quick description and comparison. Jedi Sage - Telekinetic tree. This tree pretty much turns you into an elemental shaman from wow. For example... Disturbance = lightning bolt Telekinetic wave = chain lightning Weaken mind = flame shock Turbulence = lava burst (auto crit if weaken mind is on target) You also get talents that pretty much equal the mastery of the ele shaman. The talent you get makes disturbance and telekinetic wave have a 30% chance to reproduce itself for 30% dmg. As far as I know, you cannot increase the chance. You also get a talent that is pretty much like elemental mastery which gives 20% alacrity (spell haste) for 10 seconds. -- Jedi Sage - Balance tree This tree will pretty much turn you into a shadow priest. For example... Telekinetic throw = mind flay Weaken mind = shadow word pain sever force = devouring plague. instead of doing initial dmg, it roots them for 2 seconds In this tree you get a talent that makes telekinetic throw have a 30% chance to make any damage spell with a cast time instant cast. Kind of like if you cast mind spike 3x in wow. Also, you get a talent that makes your dot crits heal you which is kind of like shadow form. The main difference from this to a shadow priest is instead of the aoe spell shadow priest get, the aoe spell for this class does direct dmg, not a channeled spell. -- So if you are wondering how the jedi sage dps spec plays, this will give you a pretty solid idea. Hope this helps when are choosing your character.
  7. With the first point I partially agree with it. For melee, I whole heartily agree. I can't play a melee in this game because it 'feels' sluggish waiting for the animation to complete to do damage. I've gotten a jedi sentinel to 17 and I couldn't take it any more. Ranged on the other hand is a different story. The damage should be done when the spell or bullet reaches the target. Leave the animations in for all I care. Just let the damage from melee do damage when you hit the ability, not at the end of the animation.
  8. I like damage meters. To me the best part about raiding in wow was looking at worldoflogs to see how I compared to other enhance shaman. The guild I was in before I cancelled it today to play this used damage meters for competition between the dps in our 10 man raid and we used to place bets. In random heroics I would pull 35k dps and others would pull 10k. I never linked it and talked smack, but I just found it amusing. The best part is hitting a target dummy with one figuring out the best rotation for dps. -- Now yes, I understand story is important in this game. But what's going to happen later on when you've seen the story and you are farming raids for gear. You get gear but you can't even look at damage meters to notice a difference. Ya, your abilities will hit for like 50 more damage or whatever when you hit, but with your damage as a whole you won't be able to get a true feel of how much stronger you are getting. Damage meters provide that sense of strength you get when you get better gear. Anyway, I say add them. Sure some people don't like them, but lots of people do. If you end up being a raider in this game then chances are you can't live without them.
  9. That's the main reason I can't get myself to play a melee char in this game. Waiting for skills animation to go off to do damage makes it feel sluggish and boring. When I play ranged it doesn't feel sluggish because there's a cast bar and it's basically casting a spell. Maybe they should add cast bars to melee. I dunno. But I tried and just can't do it. I got a jedi sentinel to 17 so in a sense I gave it a fair shot. Oh well, there are plenty of ranged type chars that I can play instead and that's what I'll do.
  10. You're right, the pvp in this game is mission based. But let's say that level 10 guy is the only defending a node (happens a lot on republic side on my server) and the level 40 guy goes there. The node is automatically going to go to the level 40 guy because he will destroy the level 10. If it were a level 10 vs a level 19 guy it'd be more of a match and the 10 guy would have a chance. But in the current system it's pretty much over before it begins. While I agree that in the warzones you shouldn't try to be by yourself, but what should that guy do? Just leave the node and run with the rest of the team and leave the place undefended?
  11. Anyone that says a level 10 has a chance vs a level 50 if they have better skill is flat out lying. Hell, instead of 50 let's go with level 40 so one person can max out a skill tree. Let's use a smuggler gunsliner vs gunslinger for arguments sake and take a look at what the level 40 person would have vs the level 10. Level 40 guy would get... 6% more dmg on charge burst 3% more accuracy Aimed shot ignores 20% armor Entering cover absorbs 30% of the dmg of the next 3 attacks Charged burst and speed shot shot crits reduce cast time of aimed shot by 1 second A move that reduces accuracy by 45% 100% chance to make next charged burst instant when entering cover +1 energy rate regen when in cover +4% crit chance for charged burst and speed shot Trick shot +30% dmg on crits on speed shot quick shot and trick shot And finally, the rapid fire ability. Even when you ignore pvp gear and the skills they'd learn by leveling up and just look at the talents, the level 10 guy has a huge uphill battle vs the level 40 guy. Telling people otherwise is just a flat out lie and it shows that you don't care about balance and only care about wiping the floor with other players. Simple as that.
  12. I am wondering if gear other than pvp gear affects pvp. For example say I have two weapons. One weapon does 50 dmg and the other does 100 dmg. If I use the 100 dmg will I do more dmg in pvp? I'm confused because you jump in there with like 12000 hp and your moves do like 2k. So would normal gear from questing make you do more? Or is the only gear that affects pvp is gear that has expertise on it which increases dmg dealt and dmg taken?
  13. People with authenticators in wow don't get hacked unless a hacker gets ALL of their info and gets blizz to send them an authenticator... But if a hacker gets all your info they will do worse things than steal your wow account. The batteries last like 5 years.
  14. Call me crazy but... Something tells me they lowered the cap on servers last night when they did maintenance so players would get spread out across all servers. Yes, while right now there are a lot of light servers and a lot of full servers, on the 22nd after their next maintenance the problem will be fixed because they will raise the caps on the heavy servers. What do you think new players would like to see when they log in for the first time? A few heavy servers with a crap load of light servers or a lot of medium servers where they won't feel like they have to get on the heavy server to play with others. Ya, it sucks now, but after the next maintenance things will be fixed.
  15. I was going to use my name from a different game and it said invalid name and I'm not sure why. The name was fligmos. I tried fligmus and that was also invalid. So I went with flig. I still don't understand why my first two names were invalid and before you ask, no, the names were not taken already.
