  1. Good, as an MMO stealth player, the more people get it into their heads that these are team games and stealth classes shouldn't be taking people down to nothing from full or competing in raw damage with damage classes with limited or no stealth, the better. The job of a stealth class in team PVP should be that of a finisher.
  2. Fact is, from day one Bioware proved themselves to be newbie MMO developers, I don't care how much they say they had experienced developers on staff, they made the most basic of mistakes over and over again and they are still living with those mistakes AND making new ones. I'm not bashing the game, I enjoy it for the most part, but all I ever see is the fleet, and that's it. If I do go somewhere else, I always end up back on the fleet, I have no interactivity with the Empire (I'm Republic) outside of warzones.
  3. Stick in a cheap SSD. You load screens will take about 10 seconds.
  4. Meh, I have no sympathy for players that won't stick it out because they got a kicking.
  5. *edit* Actually this thread is getting way to grumpy, I think I'll stay out of it.
  6. Totally agree, as a light Jedi Guardian the idea of sending of the Emperors Assassin, a pureblood dark side Sith, to gather some rare metals for me just feels stupid. God knows what he gets up to, why would any Jedi want to do that? He probably walks in the room, kills everyone and takes it, he's made it clear that's how he thinks things should be done. I'ml not on a role-play server, but I am a role-player with a pretty good imagination so in my head I'm sure he's just under arrest and placed in my custody so I just get him to do some slicing but it really does seem dumb at times. Ultimately the stories and companions never worked for me, I think it would have been better to have had a single driving story that everyone played, put more effort into allowing your choices to have more impact on that story and ending, allowed more control over companions, choosing which you want from a number of choices (i.e. at each point in the story giving you a choice of three/four companions and you get to pick one, if I could have T7, my Ewok and a Jawa I'd be a happy Jedi, everyone else makes me want to turn to the dark side just so I can kill them). The Jedi story just fell on its face for me and it's why I can't be bothered to roll a LS Sith either.
  7. In reality, when facing multiple opponents, a weapon in each hand is preferred. If you're capable of course.
  8. Hey all, sorry I know these sorts of posts can be boring. Roleplayer but also PVPer who's found himself on a PVP server after the server changes, so I'm looking to move here. Is there some PVP activity here and do games pop often? Does one side dominate more than the other? These are just a few things in my mind that I was wondering about before I moved. Thanks all.
  9. Time to kill in this game is so short these days that you'll go down like a ton of bricks as a Vig Guardian if you get focused. Your best bet is to wait, stay back a little, watch what's happening and then move. If you jump into the fight and into a pack of 4, you're going down.
  10. I agree, I never had a problem landing Master Strike from launch until now. The root reminded me off all the QQers that would moan that it needed a root back in the early days and have recently found myself running Focus in PVP just for a change.
  11. This.. BUT.. I dropped my 4 set bonus for cool looking gear and I've honestly not really noticed it as the end of my world. Augments in every slot for extra damage across the board isn't anything to sniff at, although once more people are in WH gear it won't matter because you can have your cake and eat it.
  12. Vigilance is devastating in PVP right now, arguably given it's immunity to CC and damage reduction it's a better PVP tree than the very easy to counter Focus tree. Tagging either of them as our single PVP tree doesn't do either tree justice because they are both very useful in a PVP game. We're lucky we get so many decent builds that can be used in PVP.
  13. Go for the set you think suits you best to be honest. Then swap some mods around. Personally, I dropped some of my set bonus in the Battlemaster gear and swapped it into some cooler looking orange gear and I've not been effected in any large way without a 4 set bonus.
  14. They are better than you think, and shouldn't be looked at as single DOTs. Firstly they ignore most forms of protection so the numbers you see are actual raw numbers, secondly they will crit so get your critical chance to 30%, thirdly they are meant to be applied all at the same time and not on their own, at that point you turn your target into an oven cooked Sith. The idea is that Plasma Brands DOT lasts longer than the cooldown on the skill, you apply Plasma Brand first, then follow up with your other two DOTs so the longer DOT on Plasma Brand is still ticking as you apply the two smaller DOTs. And as people posted above, the damage isn't as small as people make out, when they apply they will sit at around 20% of your base attacks damage, that's significant and even more so when you have all 3 running.
  15. pianomanhooper makes good points in that using Awe after they leap is always a good way to start, you screw them up because they don't have Unremitting and you've now turned around their open attack and put them on the back foot ready for your open barrage (which they can't stop if you have Unremitting). The key to beating them is to first stop their opening attacks dead in their tracks and turning that around on them, then second is to always keep stasis ready for them when they pop their "can't kill me" so that it will burn itself out.
  16. Controversial I know, but personally I think Shadows are better in Huttball than us. The problem with our leaps is that it requires the other side put be dumb enough to put themselves in a position where we can get to them and that often means you're playing PUGs, Shadows grab the ball, sprint to the edge near the acid, pass to another Shadow who stealthed himself into position on the lower platform, sprint again, score. Of course there are lots of things that can foul this up in practice, but it's a fairly decent way of scoring at least the first point. We are useful in PVP, Unremitting helping with that, Guardian Leap as well, and we do have a place but personally I class myself as a backup ball grabber (lawl) now in our premade. (That all said, in a PUG, sometimes just someone, anyone getting the ball and knowing how to pass is all it takes to win)
  17. Honestly they are both great, and Defence has its uses as well, that we can pick a build based on our play style and still be effective is a pretty good place for us to be sat.
  18. It is kinda funny when you get a DOT on you and Focused Defence pretty much gives you back more health than you started the fight with. Plus with Vigilance when it's running it gives you base DR in line with Soresu, used at the right moment offensively it's brilliant.
  19. Trooper and Knight have been enough for me, with all the time in beta, I'd like a Shadow so I can have the legacy buff but after playing one in beta I just can't bring myself to do another class and I'm slowly finding myself playing Mass Effect 3 more right now.
  20. ...really? In full new BM with the WH Saber I'm running 22% (almost 23%) damage... Are you sure you're not in the old pre 1.2 BM gear? If you're dropping mods for mods with more power and no expertise you're doing it wrong, expertise hits the cap at around 1300, if you're under that cap (and you should be unless you're in full WH) then it's better to take expertise over power after the 1.2 changes. Each to their own though.
  21. That's your problem (and it's not easy I know) but if they leap to your first and get the jump on you, snare, Awe, push, cheese it any way you can and come back when you can get the jump on them (even dropping into Soresu while you get away). I know that's much easier to type than it is to do but I find a lot of them have limited attention spans and will lose attention in anything they can't "lololololololo i r the dps but r all skillz not teh class honest" burn down in seconds. Then its your turn. The thing to always remember is, a large number of them save their 'I'm not taking damage for the next 5 seconds' cooldown until they are almost dead, save your stasis/choke for it, don't worry that it's only ticking for 5 damage, just hold them in it until their buff burns out, then Dispatch. If they use their Saber Ward, get rid of them as best as you can (snare and push are best) and if their Leap is on cooldown they'll have to walk to you, keep moving away from them and let the Ward run down (even if they do have leap up it gives Ward time to run out), once its off, re-engage them with your refreshed Force Leap if they are still away from you (getting your 10% damage and 20% DR back) and then use your Saber Ward. All these things are easier to type than do, but these should at least help you with them a little because their damage/survivability is comical right now.
  22. There was (is probably, tired of looking) a lot of whine about Focus being useless now, but it isn't, it's still very viable and easier to build singularity (if a little predictable and easy to counter, but then it always was) and Vigilance is very viable (not as much burst but when played well very hard to get rid off and that DPS just keeps on coming, you never run out of focus), Defence has a place in premades as well actually, offering some useful control. Honestly we're in a really good place and can go with the one that suits your play style the best, that's pretty much the most any of us can ask for.
  23. This has nothing to do with anything I said. If a nerf comes it will have nothing to do with forum whine, from them or you.
  24. Changes to expertise's will require some balancing of classes, the "we r not changed lololololololol" argument is full of so many logical holes when the bigger picture is looked at, no idea why people keep posting it. (Well, I do but I won't be rude). Whether or not that means Sentinel/Marauder need a nerf I'm not interested in getting into, what I DO think is funny is that IF a nerf does come, posters like you will honestly and truly think that the forum whine had anything to do with it, anyone that thinks that has no idea how developers work and think, they don't play games, they don't care what you think, they don't care who posts what as long as you have an account and you're posting. All they care about is the numbers and they only start to doubt those when accounts start to close. Trust me, I know them, most developers live in a little bubble and what they think gamers want and what the average gamer actually wants are often so far apart it's hard to understand why they became game developers. Trust me, they don't play games.
