  1. The medals for healing definately does need re-working. In the past I was pro-bono towards it. I felt it was just fine where it was. Back then though, we didn't have the 50 brackets and the huge gear gap you see in warzones now. So healers really didn't need to spend all their time healing. They could easily pull 7-10 medals outta any warzone if they were played properly. The reality of it now is that we have 50 brackets, we have a ton of geared people and the luxury of old is not as viable as it once was. Due to the massive amount of dmg that is going on during warzones, especially if you run with pre-mades... there is very very little time to dps. If you come up against another pre-made, the only abilities you will be using outside of your heals as a sorc will be your bubble, overload, our stun and our interupt... along with the occasional whirlwind if you actually get enough time to get one off. We don't have time to stop and dps cause if we do, our dps die and we die. These types of matches boil down to which healer can sustain enough of their teamates long enough to wither the other side down. Anyone saying our dps is still vital during this situations is just a complete moron. Full speced healer dps is so insignificant against champ/BM geared players it's seriously just laughable. The only counter to their dps is keeping your dps up. At the end of these types of matches, I'll wrack up 400-500k healing with ease and normally still get 5-6 medals if I get lucky enough to get in the killing blow on a player which I usually do. DPS though, they always come out with 8-9, and tanks even more. So basically in a win, every class did their roles to be victorious while the healer get's f#$ked due to Bioware's ignorance in the medal system. It's no different in ilum, Bioware once again drops the ball and screws the healers forcing anyone that wants to heal to have to dps if they want credit for kills. I've been full heal spec since day 1, I love it but I do love to dps and I'll do it every chance I can. Rest assured though when we get into competitive matches in warzones, my job is keeping my team up and every class role should be rewarded rightfully so for it. Easiest change I can see is make anyone within a certain radius of a player dying get credit for the kill as long as you were in combat during it. Healers at least then would get access to two more guaranteed medals. Maybe add another bracket in for amount of healing instead..or better yet.. make a medal for 75k dmg/150k healing which will be a little extra bonus during some matches do try and encourage healers to do more then chain heals. As for mpv votes, seriously, people need to get off this boat where "well if you heal, you'll get votes for mpv that make up for it". Seriously f#$k off with that garbage, that happens maybe 20% of the time if your lucky and we don't need pity votes for doing our jobs in warzone matches where dps'ing isn't a viable option. All classes and not just healers should have equal rewards for performing their roles given what ever situation arises in any given warzone. Either way, you can definately see the trend or I should say the toll of the current healing system is taking on healers in general in the game. With the high respec costs, lack of rewards for healing, a lot of people that would just spec back and forth are staying dps entirely. All I see when I'm on the imp fleet these days is non stop spams from tons of groups looking for healers. At the current rate, if Bioware doesn't get their heads outta their asses and fix this, there won't be any healers left in the game in 6 months aside from the straight up 100% pve folks.
  2. PvP for me. As the above poster mentioned though, the best fit would be to have a completely seperate tree for a pvp spec that compliments pvp and not pve. I know other games have done this, and it'll eliminate a lot of the balancing issues between pve/pvp. Mirror both sides. it'll work.
  3. Its obvious you learned something... and that's to come here and whine instead of using your own abilities to counter sorcs. Talking about BM geared sorcs isn't a sorc issue, that's a GEAR issue which every single DPS BATTLEMASTER geared person will f#$king wreck you that knows how to play. Don't pin that crap on sorcs. Yes, it does suck going into some matches and there entire side is composed of sorcs. We had a match last night against a pre-made that had 7 sorcs outta 8 people, and almost every single sorc in there was champ geared. It started off rough, then we pin-pointed the weak points in their team, changed up a few strats and mopped the floor with them. Pugging in the game blows, join a guild and run with a steady crew and it changes the outcome of warzones a lot and makes it a much more enjoyable experience. I can't count the # of times I've had ops/commando's/other dps sorcs/mercs.. hell every dps class obliterate me into the ground. I size up why I died later and most are deaths completely outta my control, the others just poor play on my part not recognizing certain class mechanics. Do I wanna come here and rant on the forums?? Hell it's tempting when you're pissed off but instead, talk with other people instead, read the forums for info on other classes. Talk in guild with your mates and I'm sure they'll have some advice. There is a lot to learn on how to deal with every class out there.
  4. This comment sums up entirely the healer problem. All it takes is one dps person to interupt a healer and they are f#$ked. Every match our team plays, if we find a healer in the mix, it's called out in vent immediately and that f#$ker is dead before he can even get one spell off. Coordinate with your team and you'll make any healer either eventually just drop the warzone all together or just re-roll dps eventually. We had a match the other night with a fully geared champ healer on the other side. We've played against him before and he knows his class so we focused him. I give kudos to him as he actually stuck it out the entire matcn, 23 deaths later...with focus/interupts, healers are just a free kill. Frankly, I personally think the healing trees need some more in the way of defensive capabilities for them-selves for the ones that don't have the luxury of guard, but that's just me. Couldn't agree more on this. A person that knows how to actually use an interupt, has no issues with a healer. Lock out our one big heal and good night. The only option any pure spec healer has when faced alone with a dps is to run unless the person they are facing is terribly bad. DPS will out-pace your heals very quickly once your shield is gone. Level a healer to 50 and do a 100 warzones and then come back here. Healing is far from pressing 1-2 buttons in this game and anyone that thinks it is, has never played a healer for what it is. No healer can sit there and chain spam heals on dps and sustain it. They would be out of force in 10-15 secs tops. Hell, most healers in warzones run around 90% of the match with less then 20% force due to the insane amount of pressure put on healers with their force pool. Dying is almost a bliss as you get to pop back up and be full force/health.
  5. I'll take the 4-5 snipers/ops any day of the week and for 2 reasons. #1.. 90% of sorcs are terrible. They'll sit in one spot spamming one or two abilities and that's it. So either their team carry's them or their gear does if they are winning the matches. #2 Sorcs are glass cannons, you get 3 ops in a warzone .. they'll chew threw the sorcs like they are butter even if they are terrible. It doesn't matter how good a sorc is, especially the healing specced ones, a couple competent dps that know how to use a stun will tear through them with ease. The dps sorcs have a few more tools at their disposal but still fit the same bill. Out of all the classes in warzones, sorcs are always the fastest to die of any class. The only people that piss and moan about sorcs are the ones that generally get owned by a good player. The problem isn't the class, it's the fact that A LOT OF PEOPLE PLAY THE CLASS, MORE SO THEN ANYONE ELSE. It's a simple #'s game, and nothing more. People like to use light sabers and they like to shoot lightning outta their asses.... err hands. The only thing that might need a tweek is the root that accompany's overload. Higher up the tree or get rid of the root and add a 2-3 sec snare instead. And seriously, nerf the bubble? GL on that since it's a major pve component. If you wanna nerf our bubble, then give us our 30% healing back and we'll call it even. That bubble buys a sorc an extra 2nd or two tops. Last but not least, if they do bring out a nerf bat and nerf sorcs into oblivion two things will happen. Bioware will likely lose a good 10% of their player-base instantly and 2) You see all these rants about nerfing sorcs coming from other classes................................................................................................................................................now picture the # of nerf posts that would pop up from the sorc playerbase after any said nerf for every other single class as they get pummeled into the ground. This board would be flooded 10 times worse then it is now.

    Sorcerer Nerf....

The spec shown by the OP might be op'd, so might other variations of the dps specs, but corruption is definately not. Corruption specced Sorcs are basically free kills to any competent dps. If you cannot kill a "healing" sorc that doesn't have guard... <and even with guard add one more competent dps to the mix>, well quite blunty, l2p. Of any class in warzones I see sorcs drop faster then any other class. Even the dps counterparts, if you learn to focus/interupt them, they become a complete non factor in any warzone. If you ignore them, yeah they will f#$k you up and that's your fault for ignoring them, not there's.
  7. I think this would be a terrible idea. All this is doing then is punishing the team that goes in with what ever healers they have. People play what they enjoy and want to play. They don't want to be forced into another class just so they can still effectively heal in a team environment just to be able to keep someone up. And honestly, if 1 healer is able to keep one person up when he's got 4 people on them.. that's not the healer or the dps's fault. That's the 4 moron dps that are on one dps letting that healer chain spam them. Secondly one healer would never be able to keep up heals on a single person if 4 semi competent geared dps are on one person unless they are a tank with crazy gear or have guard on them.
  8. Sorcs have basically 1 true cc saver that will save them a whooping 4 secs and that's providing the person you use it on doesn't just break it instantly. Don't even get me started on our overload as the healer spec version doesn't root you when you land, it only tosses you a few yards. It's not hard to re-close that gap. As for our whirlwind, any competent team or dps will EASILY interupt this before you have a chance to get 1 sec into the cast time. So in reality as a heal spec, we have our 2 sec burst of speed which is usually a 50/50 on wether it even works. Most times you're either stunned at the end of it or just grappled straight back to where you started. Killing healers isn't hard in this game at all unless they've got guard on them. The two work arounds for this imo are try and seperate the healer from the tank and just burst em down with all your dps or better yet, stick one dps on the healer to keep them occupied on them-selves and focus all your burst on that tank. Kill the tank, no guard left. If they've got a second healer in there, well unless you can coordinate a cc on them at the same time, just reque imo ) Now a solo healer with no guard, it generally won't matter how good the healer is, if 2-3 dps that know how to play their class get on them, they're dead 99% of the time. This game doesn't revolve around pushing 2-3 buttons for most classes like WoW did. PVP, you are meant < and not saying all classes with their various specs as I know some just press a few buttons > to utilize all the abilities you have at your disposal. If people actually did that every match, these forums would turn into a "OMG, HEALERS NEED A 300% INC IN OUR HEALING IN WARZONES CAUSE WE DIE INSTANTLY EVERY MATCH".
  9. Get more gear. The fight is a gear check plain and simple. You go into it with basic 50 gear after dinging, yeah you're gonna get rocked. Spend a week or so pvp'ing and doing other flashpoints and then come back. The fight is a joke and easily doable with 3 melee. As i said though, it is a GEAR CHECK.
  10. Has anyone ever managed to get the 5k heal medal just via a actual heal and not by the use of a medpack pre-nerf? Not sure really what you'd have to stack besides surge and power to get it, if it's even in reach atm.
  11. Why heal when the game doesn't encourage it? we get more medals for dps'ing and killing people then we do for healing. Just look at the new ilum changes, if you heal in there, you will NEVER get your daily done. So, dps it is!
  12. I don't post a lot on forums ever but, with this latest patch, I figured I'd voice my opinion. Not that it'll matter as we know all to well Bioware doesn't heed anything from the playerbase. Basically what I see happening now is this game is definately taking the route of the old Warhammer. There are sooo many glaring issues with the current system that I'm honestly not sure Bioware could even fix it at this point with out a major over-haul of every aspect the system has in place atm. Let's face it, the odds of that happening are slim to none when we still have beta bugs that were present 4 months back still un-fixed at this point. Probably the biggest complaint I see on the forums is champion bags and the rng that goes along with it. I look back at past games and RNG is by far one of the worst things you can put into a game when it comes to loot/upgrades for gear. The only thing it accomplishes is rewarding the lucky 10-15% while pissing off the other 80% of the player-base due to the rng which in relative terms is saying "lol at you sucker". Everyone knows the issues with this system and I can guarantee that a ton of avid star wars fans/players have quit the game due to this. Then you look at the class balance issues that go along with the champion/battlemaster gear. Great we have 50 brackets now, it is imo a good change as rolling level 20's doesn't take any skill at all. The inherit problem with this change now is the new 50's w/o the champ gear are just going to get steam-rolled into the ground by those with champ and more so those with battlemaster. The expertise on the gear has basically turned a lot of dps classes into almost importal tanks that are damn near unkillable w/o your full team on them. Tanks are meant to take a beating, dps classes imo should be no different then healer counterparts regardless of their gear or if they have guard on them. You throw a few champ geared dps on them, they should drop like a wet noodle. Aside from the obvious, cc is outta control in the game, broken resolve system that sometimes works, sometimes doesn't, broken medal system that is EVEN WORSE now with the new patch. < well hell it's a rng half the time as well that doesn't reward the way it should >, all coupled with the horrid disaster that ilum and even 50 warzones are to an extent now. Ilum on most servers isn't even worth doing. Who wants to spend 2-3 hours running circles in the middle of the zone competeting against 50 other's for the arnaments to complete a daily that will almost guaranteed give you some useless cent tokens or champ tokens for those that are battlemaster. Everyone knows the population imbalances and what the result will be from it in a weeks time. Ilum will be a barren waste-land with no one bothering with it what so ever. So looking at this patch, they basically killed any notion of pvp in ilum (not that there ever was any), bandaid fixed the 50 warzones that will rapidly decline in #'s, nerfed the one crafting skill in the game that was actually where it should be ( the stack of all the relics/expertise pots/red pvp zone buff/stims etc was the problem, not medpacks). So in ending, where do I see this game and pvp heading. Pretty simple. Pvp in the lower brackets isn't a gear check, it's actually a lot of fun. There's no rng champ/battlemaster bags to make people rage, there's no expertise that seperates people into peasants/gods...etc etc... Welcome Warhammer 2.0 where a good majority of 50's I can see if they even decide to stick around will just say f#$k the system, time to play the alt instead the 1-49 bracket will become the new Tier1/2/3 of warhammer. You did a hell of a job for a first patch Bioware. I've played pretty much every mmo out there and to date, this patch definately takes the cake as the most poorly implemented patch ever. Can the game be saved, I wish and pray it could. Given the complete lack of Dev communication on the forums and complete negligence towards thoughtful and logically design choices, things don't look promising at all...
  13. To a very small extent I agree with some of what the OP says. Basically the only thing I agree on is the medals to be honest and that is to a limited extent as well. Healing in pvp is nothing like other games where you can just sit there and be a spam bot using 1-2 heals an entire match. With the way the classes are designed, healers have got a ton of tools at their disposal to use in any given circumstance. Now I'm not to familiar with all the healing classes, primarily the sorc so perhaps things are different on the other two healer class fronts. Speaking purely from a sorc/full corrup spec, you could call the class somewhat easy to play and perform adequately. The people that only know how to use a couple abilities are VERY easy to point out in matches are die very quickly unless they are carried by their team, which is the case more often then not. I've seen countless scrub healers decked out in full champ gear that pile up 500-600k in heals, yet that's the ONLY thing they do. Stack them up with their whole team, yeah they won't die and can rack up huge #'s. Get them solo, it's like watching a keyboard turner having a seizure when you put any pressure on them at all. Healing #'s imo account for maybe 30% of a actual healers job in these warzones if played to their full potential. A good healer that utilizes all his abilities from their stuns, to interupts, to interchanging dps/heals on the fly, slows, cc, everything.. can turn the tide of any fight. When I look at the score-boards at the end of the fight, regardless of which team wins or loses, the good healers imo are the ones that have the 25+ kills, have wracked up 75k+ dmg, and done their job keeping their team up at the same time. Take the time to practice new things while in the warzones and see what works and what doesn't. You'll find a happy medium as you go. Simple things during a big fight like tab targeting the enemy in between heals, finding a person with 10% health, takes 2 secs to drop your instant nuke and chain lightning and boom, one more person outta the way. Same thing works for interupts on other healers, stuns, everything helps. The faster their team members die, the less pressure there is on you. And let's face it, just straight up spam healing is b o r i n g...............mix it all up and it's a blast. Looking at other classes, yeah sure, some classes do seem a bit op and I'm sure some abilities will be fine tuned down the line. Some classes have way to much burst, others not nearly enough. Our survivability at the end of the day is for the most part entirely upon you. We have the tools to get away most of the time if used properly. Even the players that actually know how to play their class you can still get away from if you're smart. I don't die a lot in matches, but when I do, it's usually due to a bad keybind press, I'm suiciding myeslf to buy time saving a capture point from being capped for the rest of my team to get there, or simply which is 90% of the time, you just simply get over-whelmed. It doesn't matter what class you are from a healer too a tank or dps, if you get 3-4 players that know what an interupt is and how to play their class, they will burn you down faster then you can blink an eye. Even 1vs1, if you're full heal specced against an equally skilled/geared player, simply, kite and run. You will not out-heal their dps. That's just a simple fact. The sooner healers learn this, the easier their lives will be. Kiting as a sorc healer is probably the #1 thing you will do in most warzones and it is a skill that you either better pick up on fast, or the qq will just continue. You have a lot of get outta jail free cards from your sprint, to your 4 sec stun, to using affliction for a minor slow if it's talented too your default slow to keep dps at bay. At the end of the day, being the better healer falls upon yourself. Learn the class, learn to use all your abilities, learn the strengths of your team-mates and it will allow for a much much more enjoyable experience. You'll look back at these posts and just laugh at how ignorant so many posts made really are. The only thing they do need to possibly look at is adding a couple other healer medal rewards. Maybe something for shielding when we use our bubbles, possibly add in another tier for healing so it's 75k/150k/225k/300k kinda thing for those that just want to do nothing but heal. I'm sure there's other options but all I can think of atm. All I can think of
