  1. You do realize that the entire point of this change is that they can merge PvE with PvP servers afterwards, right?
  2. No offence... but what did you expect from the trooper story? Maybe it's because we don't shoot enough. When I started my trooper for example, I took Vanguard because I was hoping for that "trooper with a rifle" experience. Silly me for thinking it was actually a ranged class. Well ok, dps is a bit, but you still have quite a few skills that don't even use the rilfe, or at least not the forward end.
  3. So you saved up to 5 millions to buy a piece of armor you wanted and decided to transfer to a server where it's cheaper instead of farming some more or waiting for it to get cheaper? Yeah, I don't care if anyone tells me to grow up, that's a lesson you had comming.
  4. Maybe, but I would gladly take it to get rid of KotFE.
  5. That would be the case if all unlocks in this game were either just for one character or legacy wide unlocks, but many things like the collection of cartel items are account wide unlocks.
  6. Agreed. I keep switching between Kira's original look and the blonde without a scar myself. And before anyone asks, no it's not because women have to look perfect, it's because it makes no fu..... sense! Anyone who's played the Jedi Knight story surely will agree that of all people Kira certainly won't need that scar to remind her what she ran away from.
  7. What's the point of skipping it? If you start Shadow of Revan before you do Markeb, the empire will still already have isotope-5, because historically it happened, whether you played it or not. If a companion should indeed not come back, then this companion will never ever get a new dialog option, whether you played KotFE or not and every future expansion will treat this companion as not being around anymore also whether you played KotFE or not.
  8. Obviously the two of us have a different view on what good writing is, because for me, those two sentences contradict each other.
  9. I have to agree. Frankly I don't get the praises for any part of SWTOR's stories, because the problems already begin with a huge flaw in the 1-50 part, but I'll get into that with the next quote. The KotFE story is downright horrible! It doesn't fit to any of the classes we have (no, not even the Jedi Knight or the Wrath, check my history if you don't know why, it might have fit them during the original concept, but the try to make it fit all ruined that). It's full of clichés. The jokes are patheticly bad. It doesn't make any sense in connection to the previous emperor stories unless they explain it with something stupid or done to death like Valkorion being split like Revan or having secretly been our father too. Your encounters with the current main antagonist always results in fights you have to win, only for him to be protected by plot-shields in the end each time and it's full of lucky coincidents that range from highly unlikely to downright absurd! Just check the opening of Chapter 4 again, the swamp we crash into is basically right outside the city! And we didn't stumble upon the Gravestone, right after we crashed, HK-55 detects a large metallic object and later says the scans indicate it has been here for several centuries and we are the first to fu..... notice it??? Also Koth's crew would have been a bit big for the tiny ship he originally planned to rescue us with, don't you think? What a lucky coinkidink that we picked up a larger ship on the way! I have to disagree here. One of the main problems with the stories is that 1-50 was never structured to be stories of an MMORPG in the first place! These stories are structured like stories of singleplayer games where you reach the height of your career at level cap, because that's when the game ends! How do you want to make a convincing story when you're stuck with the concept of members of the Jedi Council and the Dark Council still acting like errand boys? Edit: So? We can make scars almost disappear even with our technology! Kolto tanks bring people back from the brink of death. Luke gets a cybernetic hand that looks like a normal one in "The Empire strikes back". It's one of the reasons I've had a problem with so many companion looks having scars. Especially in the republic, no one has to keep a scar unless they choose to.
  10. Just get rid of Courting gifts already... they were a stupid idea from the beginning.
  11. Say since slicing lockboxes give so much money now, are the missions for techparts enhanced aswell? I'm asking because the one with the cheapest per unit price (7500 credits) for purple/pink grade 9 sliced tech parts on my server currently has a total of 7300 such parts for sale on the gtn, and while you could get those the regular way (I guess), oddly he doesn't have a single blue grade 9 or 8 sliced tech part on the gtn.
  12. The headband from Mira's outfit should work for both sides.
  13. This problem really isn't that difficult to solve. You could just determine it by conversation options during the mission briefing, like they did with Revan's gender and alignment at the start of Kotor 2.
  14. *rolls on the floor laughing* I... I just... *bursts into laughter again* I just imagined they'd start their livestream and then can't even login to their own game... *bursts into laughter again* I mean I know it won't happen... they'll probably use some local office server for those streams, but wouldn't that be hilarious?
  15. It probably would if people treated it like that. Unfortunately there are enough morons among the gamers that treat devs like friends and family, are happy to pay them for nothing and consider it good manners to say thanks for getting pissed on. It's no wonder incompetent devs never learn.
  16. It didn't take that long for me. I considered republic Taris to be annoying when I wasn't even halfway through. If the main quest wasn't "kill so and so many rakghouls" then the bonus quest was. Apart from the heroics, I remember one quest with droids, one with nexu and apart from that I only remember rakghouls. By the time they came up with the rakghoul event, I wanted to strangle whoever had the idea...
  17. Going by my previous experiences with EA CMs during Warhammer Online, my personal feeling was always that their job was not to give information, but to distranct people when things are bad and generally keep them from revolting on the forums. I don't see Eric succeeding in that either.
  18. So? You're not paying him, are you? Nevermind, just a lame joke that was hard to resist, but in all seriousness, that's a perfect example for you not getting what I meant with all this. Again, the post above your last one in the other thread gives more details as to why I answered to that thread in the first place, it even has a link to a longer post from another thread that's basically about the same, you can read it or leave it, I don't care. I think at this point no one can blame me for not putting enough effort into trying to get people to understand, so I'm done.
  19. You really are too funny, you know? Here and in the other thead you go on and on about how saying thank you is good manners, but the one thing you and the others apart from TUXs and DarthDymond actually did not do in this "thank you" thread, is saying thank you for the feature the thread was about. Instead you just came in to tell me how wrong I was, sounds familiar?
  20. No, I sure as hell am not going to thank them for doing a job that they got paid to do ages ago, especially not when it comes to repairing something they broke in the first place! You are free to disagree of course and don't have to hold back your opinion either. In fact this and many other forums on the internet have done alot to help me understand how we mananged to end up in this political chaos worldwide. Thanks, it always feels good to know there's someone left who understands you.
  21. Btw when it comes to "things you might want to rephrase", you have some yourself there, because while I think (hope) it wasn't intended, you made that sound like someone should tell you to get a life away from the monitor.
  22. Well congratulations on your royal fu.. up then! Exactly, and just to drive the point home:
  23. I recently criticized a thread on this forum in which people thanked Bioware for adding the outfit designer. I don't want to repeat everything, so on the off chance that someone is really interested, you can read it all here. The point is, in that thread I said I do think one should give credit where it's due, so I'll do that here. Thank you Bioware for Area Loot And on the off chance that those people who were taught to say thanks for getting kicked in the balls are still able to learn something, I'll even explain why. Features like the group finder or the above mentioned outfit designer were already established MMO standards by the time SWTOR came out, but SWTOR didn't have them when it was released. They had to patch them in later, in the case of group finder with 1.3 when subscriptions were already in freefall. If anything, those features being missing was a testament to Bioware's failure, and patching them in was merely trying to make up for it. This one is different. This is a feature that SWTOR had since the beginning, and it is one that wasn't common in MMOs at that time, even WoW patched it in after it was already known that SWTOR had it. As I said in the other thread, I'm of the opinion that you should thank them for having something special for that kind of product or service, and with that I don't even mean you have to be the first with this feature, but it should still be special in the genre like area loot here, the public quests of Champions Online and Warhammer Online or the open groups and raids of Warhammer Online, and not something you're expected to already have anyway. So yes, this is a feature that you can truly thank Bioware for, that you can truly pat them on the back for, proudly announcing that by putting this feature into their game and by thus giving it attention, this was their contribution (small as it may be) to help MMORPGs evolve further.
