  1. Let me sum up this thread, and every other thread regarding the launch thus far (and to come).... "Well I am a mature adult, and even though I didn't get in yet, I can patiently wait for my turn. Anyone that disagrees is a whiny brat that expects to have everything exactly how they want it." "I didn't get in, and it sucks. Anyone that likes this system of invites is either A)already in or B) a BW fanboi, both of which are morons." There, saves about 60 pages of replies.
  2. Those people really are random. I was one of them. The only problem is that if they don't like your question, it gets tossed. I asked, "Can you comment on staggered EGA and the delay between invites today to tomorrow?" and got the error message, "Your question contains personal info and cannot be answered." They are filtering out anything of real value.
  3. They won't answer questions about EGA and such. I submitted my questions 3rd in the queue: Can you please breifly comment on the staggered EGA and why there is such a long period between invites today and tomorrow with servers at light loads? After about 5 minutes I got a response window stating, "This question contains personal information, and as such cannot be answered by our guests. Please edit and resubmit." So what do you think the chances areof them answering any real questions?
  4. Quoted for truth. Incidentally, there's no point to bothering with questions about the EGA in this chat anyway. I submitted the following question: Can you please breifly comment on the staggered EGA and why there is such a long period between invites today and tomorrow with servers at light loads? The question was returned as "you must edit this question and resubmit, as it contains personal information and is unanswerable by our guests."
  5. Welcome! Please note this chat is queued and moderated. The question queue may be intermittently opened and closed to allow questions through. We may not be able to accommodate every question in the time provided, but will do our best to cover a variety of topics and keep from answering the same questions multiple times. If your question is rejected back to you, please try to submit a different question. You will only see content in the chat that has occurred since you joined, so if you miss the beginning, check out the transcript after the chat at http://bbyurl.us/SWTORChat (currently links to the chat page). Assuming there is any type of chat, you'll be able to see the transcript there. Though as of yet, still 0 chat going on. Note that first line though, "Please note this chat is queued and moderated. In other words, submit a question about the EGA or it's structure and don't expect it to be answered.
  6. "We couldn't take the chance of more servers reaching a moderate population or worse a high population. This could result in problems with the space-time continuum and our flux-capacitor can't handle..... oh wait, wrong project."
  7. I absolutely love people like the OP who think that simply because someone doesn't agree with them about how the launch went, that said person is immature/whining/mentally deficient in some manner. There are many people that have made excellent points regarding how this could have been handled better. That doesn't make them whiners. It doesn't make their opinion less valid than yours. A large part of the complaints could have been alleviated through simple communication. You can't seriously expect anyone to believe that a company the size of BW/EA couldn't manage to have a small group of people sit down at some point in the last 10 days and determine a schedule of when people will be allowed into the game. Simply send a mass email to all pre-orders stating "Check the chart and match your redeem date to see the general timeframe you're in." Plus I think it threw a lot of people for a loop that invites for day 1 stopped at 2pm CST, especially when coupled with the fact that for some inexplicable reason they decided to start the next round of invites 2 hours later tomorrow than they did today. I can easily see how some people would take this as insulting treatment from BW.
  8. So according to Twitter, the 3rd wave just went out.... The third wave of Early Game Access emails have been sent, one more to go! Am I just reading this wrong, or are they seriously intending to only do 4 waves today?
  9. The waves aren't going to hurt BW, but I do think that the lack of communication regarding them will hurt them. It won't have people leaving the game but will make people think twice about future projects like this.
  10. Irony: When Individual C makes fun of Individual B's jab at individual A over comprehension, but doesn't comprehend that the mispelling is an intentional poke at the first person.
  11. Yeah, I absolutely love how anyone that is fine with the way BW is handling EAccess is "mature" and anyone that thinks it could have been handled a different way is immature and whining. That is certainly a mature POV.
  12. I fail to see how he was acting like a 6 year old. Personally I agree with him, tiered early access is ridiculous. You are correct, early access is a gift, not a right. So if that's the case, then why should someone ordering a week earlier get a better gift? Put in the terms of a 6 year old, that's like saying you are a twin but you came out first and are therefore getting a bigger birthday present. A tiered early access period will not by default mean an easier or better launch period. The only thing that a tiered early access period allows for is slightly less competition in the newbie areas.... which is an issue they CANNOT guarantee, because how many of the EAccess people are at work and unable to take advantage right now? If they were so insistant on using a tiered entrance system, the least they could have done was to provide people with some advance warning regarding when they are getting in. You're right, they've been working for years on this game, but there are players out there that have been WAITING years for this game. Sending the emails out a few days in advance would have allowed their playerbase to take full advantage of the gift of EAccess without the waste of taking days off work when they can't even get in.
  13. I can't imagine that it WOULDN'T be 24/7
  14. It's not just a matter of the EU servers, though that does suck for you guys=(. It's absolutely mind-blowing to me that a company the size of BW can work on a game the scope of TOR yet can't possibly manage in the 10 days since previous beta to compile emails and send them out AHEAD OF TIME letting you know when you are able to get in.
  15. It's not a matter of reading SR's posts. The fact of even doing it in waves is ridiculous. They say it's to "manage stress on the servers during EA" but isn't that what the stress-test Beta was for where ALL pre-orders were invited?
