  1. Oh, is this so? Will check this out. I *so* hope you're right. Have defended the "bumblebee" +41 expertise crystal against critics because black cores symbolize affinity with PvP, but would far rather have a plain yellow one. Wow - and the list above about the PvP boxes is quite revealing. Bought a 2nd box today, got materials, but also a purple Treasure Hunting mission. Still wondering if the schematic is obtainable, though, given it's shown on multiple sites as being in the game-inventory.
  2. I know it was available pre-1.2 from the Geologist vendor, but I bought a White +31 Endurance, instead - just because white crystals are cool. All sites report that "it is rumored" you can get the Yellow +41 Expertise crystal schematic from the 1k blue-quality PvP crafting box, but is there any confirmation on this? I bought the 1st one today, having both gotten a whole set of War Hero gear, plus 3 duplicates to stat the PvP suit how I want. Can't complain that I received only 2 crafting materials, as it states random-ness on the package. But do we know it is available via these means for certain? The schematic shows up in the game-inventory. If I should be outfitting a companion with War Hero gear instead, would really like to know ahead of time.
  3. /Support! Can't have too much of a such a good thing!
  4. This seems quite advantageous, really. We sages are getting more-powerful, if anything. No complaints from me, based on this excerpt in the notes. Force Speed should always have been this, /WayToBe to the PvP devs!
  5. It's taken me since the release playing regularly and pvp'ing every day to obtain every last piece of the War Hero gear. I completed it today. I feel I'm likely one such Sage that you speak of, but only because I stack fully in the Healing branch and know how to use and time my shields, 2 heals-over-time, stun and slow, and when to attempt to cast something rather than favor insta-abilities in 2+ vs You fights. Even though I can heal through almost anything not coming from an overkill-loaded DPS'er, it's only because the array of specialization-gear is used wisely in-conjunction with well-timed and experienced decisions. I use Noble Sacrifice *all the time* in PvP, in-combat and out in order to remain knowing when to and when not to use said ability, but have 21.5k hitpoints; continuous healing and typically thousands of hitpoints more than most sages works well to toughen us "squishies" up. Despite all this, I am exceptionally vulnerable to multiple interrupts and am most-easily killed by not being allowed to use any casted abilties. The most-significant Sage damage and healing abilities require casting - something experienced enemies know to continue finding ways to interrupt. /Agree that Sages are just fine.
  6. You are definately not alone in sentiment towards the 'feel' of the SWTOR worlds. SWG was probably the most-spoiling, though; all of the different worlds looked and felt quite different between daytime and nighttime. Let's hope it's not some set-variable that isn't adjustable, and receives more attention as time goes on.
  7. Wow - thanks for the heads-up, you guys! Thinking I'll focus on Crit for 35-40%, Crit Incease for 75-80%, then focus on Alacrity, which normally pairs itself with Power. Always good to check the forums before making a long effort, and buying the corresponding duplicate pieces for the Mod and Enhancements will certainly be a long effort!
  8. A clarification: I presently am stacking higher than the 35% and 79%; I have 36.5% Critical Chance and 81% Critical Increase for Force abilities. I'm asking if, despite being able to stack over this, is the 35/79 the maximum effect?
  9. A guildie has been insisting that, despite the fact that you can stack Critical Chance above 35%, that this is the maximum effect of it in PvP, and that Critical Increase caps at something like 79%, even if you stack it higher. Is this true? I've talked with him a couple of times, and he's not online atm, so I can't verify where he has supposedly found this on the PvP forums here, as this is where he claims to have found this information. About to get my final piece to complete the War Hero gear set, and was planning on buying 5 copies of one of the pieces I already have, to move the upgrades from. The plan was to stack up 51% Critical, then put all the rest of my extra space into Surge. Before making such a long effort, I knew it'd be best to ask around the official PvP forums. Can anyone verify/dispute the validity of my guildie's claim? Is he just blowing smoke because he *thinks* that this is true?
  10. What pride, not being SWG2. When credits change hands, they go to NPC hands, the vast majority of times. When events are held, they bear no relevance to the format of the lines of code that surround our avatars. And when we look at the skies? It's *always* the same time of day. /applaud, for the things that are well done in this game, but it's missing SOUL; /NeedMoreSandbox. Full voiceover makes for some great gameplay, but it just doesn't deliver a pizza with the toppings we wanted but didn't know to order.... No offense intended. I, for one, appreciate the guys and gals behind the scenes. But don't let the writing on the concrete tell you what the imagination yearns for.
  11. Were there specifics as to the trouble of adding more space for mails? SWG just stored your un-read mails for up to 3 months on the game system, then once you opened it, the mails were stored in text-files on a player's own computer. Did they state cost as an issue? 2mil+ players @ $15/month = $30mil+ revenue/month; can't afford some extra terrabites with that kind of cash? There's really no reason not to add at least a bulleton board or guild-calendar in the game. It's *so* odd that we do not have the ability to send guild-mails.
  12. Update: I did manage to solve the problem, but only by reverting to an older outfit I was fond of, in which no hood was on the chestpiece I was wearing. Kinda sucks that we don't have a hood up-down yet, but said request has been acknowledged by the devs in the past, and seems like an idea forthcoming.
  13. No, there's not a barber in the game, now. I've loved wearing the Death's Claw Mask (Republic respirator) with all my robes so far, as it caused the hoods to appear down. But with 1.2, robes now make your toon's head bald. I seriously cannot live like this. If I take the robes off, then the hair appears with the mask on. But re-equipping the robes then makes my toon bald. Is there something I'm missing to reverse this? Anywhere I should post this to save my toon's hair? I haven't been wearing the PvP headpieces specifically because I've had the mask.
  14. THANK..... *YOU*. Just because you can't move an inch without a slide-show doesn't mean that YOUR SERVER IS ****DYING****! CALL GERALDO RIVERA! The game's population continues to rise, and yes - I know, heaven forbid, there aren't neccessarily 4k people on your server at 3:13am CST. The game is healthy, it's growing, and we should all be happy that we're here to behold the first few months post-launch, even with the manageable bugs and un-resolved tweaks in the game.
  15. There are people STARVING IN AFRICA, and.... ....I love this game. Yours truly will play till lights-out. /SignPetition Get level 7 loots out of elite chests in bonus world areas. They don't belong there, they have no business being there. They sell for a whopping 30 credits after your equipment took 45 credits' worth of a beating from the uber-leet champion level 19 you killed as a level 37.

This greatly expanded upon our experience in hosting events in non-traditional locations, taught us about server-latency, and we learned much else about hosting events in crowded areas. It also gave many of us more experience in 1v1 duelling, since our guild has a wide pool of character-builds and specializations. Congrats go to Kyson-lorex, who was our very 1st tournament champion. There were many other guild-meetings and Initiates' Ceremonies in January, but I figured posting them here and now would be redundant. Once I'm caught up through February, I'll start posting weekly about events with new screenshots, but for the sake of artful-ness, it's not neccessary to post shots from the other meetings here, at this moment. Stay tuned for more Art-of-Life shots and chronicles!
  17. Yours truly has always found the happenings of some guilds to be like art: unique and colorful. While many guilds may do the same things, their takes on things are often quite different, and no event is hosted in the exact same manner. Herein, I will seek to chronicle the "art of life" produced by our community - watch as simple events grow and expand, to include a depth and uniqueness that greatly colors a guild as different from the one next-door. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Jedi_Group_Template.jpg Vrook Lamar's beloved <THE JEDl ORDER> keeps quite busy around the galaxy, with more than just boss-raids, flashpoints/operations and PvP; we also host a wide variety of get-together events to keep things interesting and the RP alive! The first few posts here may be a bit long, as we've been active since 13DEC2011! DECEMBER 2011: The game went public on 13DEC2012, 7 days prior to it's official launch. December was a very fun time, since few people had true experience with the game, and no one began above level 1. While a Roleplay guild, our first few days started just like everyone elses: full of wonder and exploration, with a primary focus upon levelling. December only saw 1 major guild event, and pales in comparison to January. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2011-12-19_00_16_56_571970.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2011-12-18_23_53_25_255248.jpg A simple world-boss raid, hosted 18DEC2011-19DEC2011, 5-6 days(before and after midnight) after the game went live. Not a lot of Orange-quality gear, hand-picked by guildies just yet, no level 50's. While smaller groups of higher levels can experience the fight now as much less of a challenge, we nearly wiped with full or near-full ops groups. The first few days of the game were very interesting, in retrospect, compared to our guild's current community-resources; we can now take down SD-0 with just an 8-man group. JANUARY 2012: January was when the guild began to host our to-be regular events. Guild-organization and the transition from SWG to SWTOR had completed, Masters(officers) within the guild were picked, and our roleplaying began to pick up. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_08_24_664373.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_15_06_937381.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_23_27_187994.jpg Scenes from the guild's very first Meet-and-Greet. hosted Monday 02JAN2012, we answered questions from local passer-by on Planet Tython, and made a few new recruits. This also tested the guild's ability to host large get-togethers in a single location, and familiarized a lot of people with the world-shard/instance concept. This would lay the foundation for our weekly Sunday meetings, which have come to include many mini-events. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/PVE_Class_03JAN2012.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/PVP_Class_08JAN2012.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/RP_Class_07JAN2012.jpg Pictured here are 3 separate guild-classes. As a Jedi-RP guild, Planet Tython is host to the majority of these. The first guild-class was hosted on 03JAN2012; the bottom two are pictured from 07JAN2012 and 08JAN2012. This is what I mean by unique guild-coloring - while other guilds probably have classes, they don't cover exactly the same material, the sights and sounds of the class-events are different, and the locations inevidebly vary. Master-rank players in our guild must host offer 2 classes/week to the guild, to keep newcomers of recent-advancers up-to-date on the game's mechanics, and to offer experienced advisement to those with questions. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-08_13_22_18_254813-1.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-08_13_23_27_527775-1.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-08_13_36_16_959784-1.jpg The first JEDl guild-committee, aimed at determining a location for a cross-faction tournament. We had planned to host a mixed-faction event once a month, but instead chose to opt for a single-faction tournament first. In retrospect, I am quite glad for this, as Master Daesh'cor's guild-tournaments have taught a lot about server-latency, sharding/instancing, as well as event-timing and capacity. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/Screenshot_2012-01-08_21_02_54_090933.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/Screenshot_2012-01-08_21_17_19_146411.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/Screenshot_2012-01-08_21_40_28_608884.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/Screenshot_2012-01-08_21_51_42_661438.jpg This was the very 1st JEDl guild-meeting, which we call "Initiates' Ceremonies". New members seeking to join the guild on Sunday are directed to these if they will be logged in at the appropriate times, to give them a taste of the guild's size and the caliber of our events. New applicants stand before the online Masters, recite the Jedi Code, and are instructed in what to expect, and what is expected of them. This is followed by for-fun duelling with a Master, and then a wrap up in the Archives Room, where they are finally admitted to the guild. This is a tradition carried over from JEDl's days in SWG.
  18. In a guild-class tonight, a small argument came up around how far after the Treaty we are currently. I was under the impression that we are about 10-15 years, but a prominent guildie seems to think we are approximately 35-40 years after the Treaty. Any links to good timelines?
  19. Updated thread with the to-be location. The guild chose a great spot via committee, in the south of the Lower Promenade on the Nar Shaddaa Moon: Map Location Scene This tourny is exclusive to force-users only. Again, PM Ahl-Vinn on the forums here, of Ahlvis in-game with any questions!
  20. You can go into the options preferences and allow up to a 1 second pre-stack of your next ability to use. Otherwise, there is an intended 1.5 second Global Cooldown (GCD) between your use of each ability.
  21. Is the 'search' feature just straight up gone, or is it not loading because of website volume? Anyone know?
  22. Very nice! Will likely add some recaps and photos this weekend! Thanks for the heads-up.
  23. *LOVED* Planet Belsavis, can't sympathize with you in the least. Heroics are more fun once you've out-levelled them and come back with guildies to complete them.
  24. Will try again tomorrow. Have attemped a few variations, but no luck so far.
  25. Was a huge success, though there was less meet-and-greeting outsiders than was hoped for. It was the guild's 1st post-launch RP event, and we formed 3 raid-groups afterwards to perform a world-boss tour. 3 of my best screenies: http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_08_24_664373.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_15_06_937381.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-01-02_19_23_27_187994.jpg Myself and <THE JEDl ORDER> (lower case 'L') hope to see you around the galaxy. NOTE: No, we are *NOT* the same as <The Jedi Order>. JEDl originated in SWG 7+ years ago and the name-spelling is intentional. It was only by oversight on BW's behalf that both of our guilds ended up on the same server.
