  1. Oh, Gungan GODS let it be cross-server Ranked PvP queues! It's cool our server has a 'leet' few, but MAN do we wanna get rid of them, come primetime.
  2. Wow, jeez, Vin! Recall you from SWG, never had any idea you did this kind of stuff. GREAT work, man! Really professional and clean-looking. Really liked the call-back to the droid-dogs of Galaxies - had entirely forgotten about those. /ThreadSub
  3. Since <THE JEDl ORDER> of Begeren Colony requires it's members to make a video guide for our Master Trials guild-rank advancement-requirements, yours truly put in some time making a mixed live-action/in-game video that'll give you some laughs AND help you track down those pesky Rakata Energy Cubes, in the search for the Belsavis Green Matrix Shard! Here's the link to the video: Yours truly has some special Roleplay used in the 3rd Master-Padawan excersizes done with my padawans that involves this area as an "ancient proving ground" - feel free to spread and use this idea for your own in-game adventures! http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/Screenshot_2013-03-31_17_52_08_895353_zps8c40e530.jpg
  4. Haha! Thank you. I enjoyed your response the most. And a big LOL at anyone who does not believe me mentally capable of comprehending "random" chance. I get it; it just frustrates the bantha poodu out of me. It's not the first time this has happened to me, though it is the first time yours truly has posted about it. Still thinking an un-seen max of RE'd items should be implemented before guarantee'ing a proc for under-50 items. They're not end-game items anyways, and especially things like the color crystals to make the crystals can be hard or very time-consuming to come by, if not on the market.
  5. Just RE'd 2 different items, 15 each, both with 20% chance to RE. And? NOTHING. 20%? Yeah, right. You're going to tell me that 30 items, each with a 20% chance to RE didn't ONCE hit within that 20% range? What unseen element is it, exactly, that stops the random rolls in RE'ing from differing? For those of you who don't know, computers are unable to generate truly random numbers; their choice-selections are based off a time-clock, multiplied, sometimes several times within the same algorithm, off of said time-clock. Is it based on the minute? It should be on the hundreths of seconds. This is far from the first time that I've wasted hundred of thousands of credits, either, in pursuit of the same thing. It wasn't level 47 stuff, either; the Might Mods were level 29, and the Blue Vehemence Crystals were level 31. We need either a re-write of the "random"-number code in SWTOR, or a queue to guarantee that you get under-50 items to RE after so many tries. /EndNerdRage
  6. Whoa - I just came back from the future, SUH! People who are playing toons across multiple factions (Yeah, that's right, there's 'Pub, 'Imp, Hutt, AND Ugly by the great year of our Gungan Lord 2015) have a *shared* cross-faction chat. I am hea' to inform you that by our such great time that not only are there no longer bugs in any portion of the game, but also that SGRA's, non-RP'ers, and also moon-habiters *ALL* share common rights and respectability in this hea' game, suh! Whilst there remaineth those who wouldeth oppose equal rights for our fellow gamers, time moves along at its own pace of development; no one can preventeth the forward-march of our great online societeh! Be theah any disseneth, let it be spoken of hea', or let this issue be foreveh laid to rest, herein!
  7. Indeed - at LEAST guild-mails. I read awhile back a DevTracker note on this taking a lot of in-game memory. Would it *really*? Why is that? Why was Star Wars: Galaxies able to do this seemingly without effort or memory issues? And what mechanic exactly would rob game-performance by allowing guild-mails? Alliances was a neat idea pre-launch for importing guilds to the same launch-servers, and gave hope to in-game alliances. This would really help lower-membership guilds find external help, and decrease the number of players who quit playing just because their own guild goes down/collapses. Meh. Yours truly thinks this would likely only result in levelling players fighting other levelling players in shared-zones. All the devs really need to do is to allow world-sharding by guild-request. Get 20+ guildies on the same planet, a guild officer requests a world-shard, and if enough guildies planetside click-in for it, a separate shard forms that the opt-in's are taken to. Anyone else needs to specifically map-click in to get to the shard; no one is placed there automatically. Would certainly reduce the trolling we've experienced multiple separate times during our events. Feasable. Purely aestheic, might mean a slight increase of memory-usage, but would be nice to have available. Gungan GODS, yes! *Why* is the limit 500 if we don't have an in-game voice system? Everyone and their grandmother uses TeamSpeak, Mumble, or Ventrilo as a 3rd-party voice system, and the devs' stance is that this is what they want. The traditional (meaning across most MMO's) guild-cap is 500 for purposes of sizing in-game voice servers though, isn't it? Why else would you limit guilds to this size of membership? It's the reason only the Jedi alt I'm presently levelling is in the guild; any other jedi alts of mine are purposefully kept out of the guild to save member-space.
  8. You've got to be kidding! It shows up fine on my computer, neither too small nor too large. I'll have to come up with a solution another night, though; it's off to bed, here. Thanks for saying something! I never would have realized it, otherwise.
  9. Have recently become curious about the RP and RP-traditions of the other guilds of Server Begeren Colony, so yours truly thought it would be neat to share JEDl's RP-system of internal guild-rank advancement requirments in order to get such a thread started. For the TL;DR version with pretty pictures, here, must you click! In initially joining the JEDl Order, an Aspirant is accepted into the guild and becomes a Jedi Initiate. From here, JEDl has Padawan, Knight, and finally Master Trials. Here in this thread, I will share the Padawan and Knight Trials, since the Master Trials are really only relevant to other JEDl-community members. PADAWAN TRIALS The Trials of the Padawan, for millennia, were based on The Jedi Code; There is no emotion, there is Peace. There is no ignorance, there is Knowledge. There is no passion, there is Serenity. There is no chaos, there is Harmony. There is no death, there is the Force. Trial of Peace: Where there is Emotion and conflict, a Jedi can bring Peace =Defeat Vokk (The Esseles), and Defeat SD-0 (Coruscant World Boss). Trial of Knowledge: Where there is Ignorance, a Jedi can bring Knowledge. =Attend ONE of the following classes: RP 101, PvE 101, PvP 101. Trial of Serenity: Frustration, anger and temptation can fuel Passion.... However, a Jedi can bring Serenity. =Acquire the minimum level of 100 in your choice of any 3 Crew Skills: Crew Skills being any combination of Gathering, Crafting, or Mission skills. Example 1: 100 in Bio-analysis, 100 in Biochem, 100 in Diplomacy Example 2: 100 in Archaeology, 100 in Scavenging, in Bio-analysis Trial of Harmony: In the Chaos of battle, a Jedi can bring Harmony…. =Seek out a member in the guild who is Guild Ranked as a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master to become your mentor or "Sanctioned Master" in a Master/Apprentice Relationship. =Reach Valor Rank 20 and obtain the Duelist title. * or* =Complete an RP-task from your new "Sanctioned Master". Trial of the Force: Learning that Death is not to be feared and is a natural part of life, a Jedi can bring the Force to those in need…. =Present your knowledge of combat by dueling a PvP Master. KNIGHT TRIALS Trial of Skill: Jedi are not just masters of battle, but also hold many diverse skills…. =Attend ONE Advanced class type, either PvE, PvP, or RP. =Acquire Level 300 in all three skill crew areas. Trial of Courage: Even a Jedi needs to summon Courage to face the challenges that will certainly present themselves…. =Have completed every non-heroic flashpoint up to level 40. =Have defeated all major planetary world bosses up to level 40. BOSS: Subject Alpha LEVEL: 21 LOCATION: Taris BOSS: Trapjaw LEVEL: 30 LOCATION: Tatooine BOSS: Battledroid R4-GL LEVEL: 32 LOCATION: Narshada BOSS: Ulgo Siegebreaker LEVEL: 35 LOCATION: Alderaan BOSS: Rogue Cartel Warbot LEVEL: 38 LOCATION: Quesh Trial of the Spirit: Padawan have to look deep within their souls, on a quest of self-discovery. =Complete Act 2 of your story. =Assemble one relic from acquired matrix shards at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Trial of the Flesh: All the Lightsaber trainings offered at the Temple cannot compare to the training received in battle…. =Reach Valor Rank 30. *or* =Recruit at least 2 new member to the guild, and complete an RP task for a Master. Trial of Insight: A Jedi Knight learns that he is not responsible for his training alone, but for passing along that training and mentoring others…. =Interview with your school's Council and present your Trials. =Speak the Jedi Code at a Knighting ceremony as your final act to become a Jedi Knight. After becoming a Jedi Knight, one becomes a "sanctioned master", meaning that one is now free to take 1 Padawan or Initiate to become one's own Padawan. Eagerly waiting to see what RP-systems the other guilds of the server are employing; please do share!
  10. <THE JEDl ORDER> of Server Begeren Colony possesses a great deal of internal roleplay, and yours truly sees no reason to keep it private, when it can inspire others! The Order has a well-developed set of advancement requirements to attain higher guild-ranks with us, and you can find out more about that by clicking here. Along the duration of advancing from Jedi Initiate to Padawan then Knight, each member finds a master to 'guide' them through their Padawan and Knight Trials. While there are many differences between the learnerships offered by the different Knights and Masters of our guild, yours truly wanted to share some of the sights that my own Padawans' experience as they complete a padawan learnership, as well as sights everyone's Padawans are prone to. INITIATES' CEREMONIES We JEDl host two weekly Initiates' Ceremonies each week: 1 on Saturday mornings, and 1 on Sunday evenings. While you do not need to join the guild at one of these, everyone is expected to go through one of these as a new-joiner at some point before advancing. They consist of three phases: Orientation, Force-Affinity Measurement Duels, and finally Induction. Phase 1: Orientation http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2013-01-06_21_05_52_131944.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-11-04_21_29_34_045804.jpg The Ceremony moves from Phase 1 to Phase 2. Phase 2: Force-Affinity Measurement Duels http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2013-01-06_21_27_56_360685.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-09-16_21_22_05_233631.jpg The ceremony moves from Phase 2 to Phase 3. Phase 3: Induction http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2013-01-06_22_00_42_364134.jpg ACCEPTANCE Acceptance of a new padawan for Master Ahlvis No'vaik is not completed in Teamspeak or even on our guild-site's forums; it is completed in-game and in-character. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-03-02_20_42_30_611583.jpg SISTER GUILDS To refer to JEDl is to intentionally or un-intentionally refer to a community of 5 guilds. Every now and then, cross-faction action tends to occur.... <Republic SpecForce> Recruitment Drive, Weekly http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-11-17_21_03_41_131565.jpg All-Guilds RP Class, 24JUN2012 http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/618354.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-06-24_18_18_27_994297.jpg Galactic Racing on Nar Shaddaa, 06JAN2013 http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2013-01-06_17_12_30_072072.jpg Blood on the Sand, 31DEC2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6IHOjbb4McY MASTER-AND-PADAWAN EXCERSIZES Now, I can't speak for the rest of the guild's masters, but yours truly has 3 master-and-padawan excersizes, fully in-character, that Padawans complete in order to finish their learnership under my guidance. Here are some assorted pics: http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-12-17_21_59_52_592585.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-11-23_20_47_42_770531.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-12-29_01_49_51_444345.jpg It should be noted that the DARK JEDl are *NOT* a part of our community; whenever a Padawan completes the 3rd excersize, we invite anyone on Belsavis to head to the Green Matrix Shard before unlocking it. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-11-25_23_26_26_596139.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-09-16_19_03_54_502428.jpg PVP MASTER DUELS Each of the 4 Schools that comprise the JEDl Order has a PvP Master. In order to become a Jedi Padawan from being an Initiate, one must duel and screenshot said duel against any of the PvP masters. In this case, since a PvP master was not online, yours truly was allowed to complete Ramus-cortan's duel, since I am the Headmaster of the Sage School. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-11-25_22_06_29_943786.jpg KNIGHT INTERVIEWS Held in a location of an aspiring Knight's choice, a panel of no less than 3 Masters/Elders/Arbiters/Councilmembers and whatever number of witnesses we can rally gather for a special pre-knighting interview. Each panel member asks a number of questions, and then the panel votes on whether or not to approve a Padawan for Knighthood. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-12-28_23_50_04_624283.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-12-07_22_49_28_712378.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/nn118/Ahl-Vinn/SWTOR/Screenshot_2012-06-22_22_55_17_635874.jpg While this thread is a poor summation of what it's like to actually go from Jedi Initiate to Padawan and then full Jedi Knight within the JEDl Order, it's still a good collection of screenshots and sights that one would experience in being with us. Special mention to those who have become knights under my charge thus far: Vibius Maximus, Derc Denolo, Holywrath, Iso-Jor Accendere, and Arspoetica Ellisande. I expect Jia-wen and Mohiam to be joining this number any day now! Art is a many-faceted thing; some of it is created and conceived by a single person, while some of it happens in the course of everyday life in a community.
  11. Would reccomend <THE SlTH ORDER>, which is part of a 5-guild RP-community. Poke around in-game for people to ask for contacts. SlTH has weekly ceremonies (guild-meetings) and RP events, and it's members partake in both PvE and PvP.
  12. <THE JEDl ORDER> is constantly having to remove in-actives to make room. Also, our community is: <THE JEDl ORDER> <Republic SpecForce> <THE SlTH ORDER> <Imperial BlackOps> and <Mando'ade Aliit> JEDl and SlTH both have unique leadership, while the other community-guilds are led by people who are mostly also in the 2 main guilds. JEDl and SlTH are both spelled with lower-case "L"'s, a tradition carried over from Star Wars Galaxies, and celebrated 8 years old as a guild this year.
  13. This is a strong possibility. On the other hand, PvP is 1 of the end-game areas; it'd be worth to put some people on some coding for an additional amount of time to effect such a change.
  14. Oh, I can dig on the community arguement; This was the reason yours truly posted against cross-server queues, pre-launch. However, solo'ing isn't really the territory of Ranked WZ's - but also, the neccesity of 8-man groups is a bit much; Mechanics that allowed 2 or 4-man teams to be grouped together would work much better! A tank-and-healer duo can do *so* much. On our great Server Begeren Colony, the #1 PvP group is called <Grim Determination> - and the reason they are #1? I've identified their main strength to be the fact that they use the U.S. Army's system of "battle-buddies"; They never fight alone, but rather, in pairs. There's so much possibility yet to be incorporated to Ranked WZ's in SWTOR. Perhaps it's been conceived of by the devs, but unless they are playing alongside us incognito, this kind of possibility has to be voiced by us whom live the WZ's day-by-day. By allowing 2, 4, and 6-man teams (not to exclude 8-man) in Ranked WZ's, cross-server queue'ing might not even be neccessary.... But it'd be a nice-touch, even if cross-server PvE still wasn't in the picture; Yours truly keeps up with *both* PvP and PvE, and has never had an issue with queue'ing for PvE. Who says the PvP community HAS to be same-server? PvP's a contest of eachothers' strengths against the strengths of others; This is a scale that can be applied to the GAME-community, and perhaps should not be a measure kept solely to one's own server. I just can't say the same for PvE!
  15. Under *current* mechanics this makes sense; if you didn't HAVE to have a full team of 8 to compete in Ranked WZ's, then yours truly forsees far-greater possiblities.
  16. I, too, look forward to a day in which there is 1v1 in PvP beyond secluded, chance-meetings in Warzones - 1v1 in which one's PvP gear still serves one better than one's PvE gear does. Now, have they fixed the bug where you can flag someone for PvP by buffing them, and vice-versa? I don't believe they have, and this could easily be used to troll such an event/event-series as you are describing, herein. Also, in order to be a "top" gladiator in 1v1 PvP as the game-mechanics currently stand, one must also become advanced in PvE-gearing to fare well in such pre-arranged matches; the uber-leet PvE gear outside of Warzones serves one far better in non-Warzone PvP, atm.
  17. Thinking most of us had the mentality the servers would each host larger populations; yours truly posted a couple of times against the notion of cross-server queues, pre-launch. Now, though, pre-mades typically OWN non-ranked PvP matches - except, thankfully, the occasional Huttball match. "Ranked" would hold a lot more meaning and value if you didn't HAVE to play on the same server as eachother.
  18. DO NOT TAKE THIS THREAD'S COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY, PLEASE! The original poster is simply heated after losing a few warzones matches or underperforming. Bubbles are a team-capable defensive tactic that has a cooldown *ON THE RECIPIENT* of the bubble; it's just fine and does not need any tweaking. The few defensive abilities currently in that aid other members of a team are great as-is.
  19. <THE JEDl ORDER> for 5/5 EV SM & HM 5/5 KP SM & HM 5/5 EC SM and hopefully next weekend's TFB SM will go smoothly. Heh - took us 4 1/2 hours to get all the way through the EC SM, but we did it.

    Ego

Dude, people get steamed about the way teammates perform in PvP. Yours truly considers himself mild-mannered, yet every here and there, I find myself yelling loud enough for the neighbors to hear about something someone is or is not doing in Huttball. It's just human nature, I'd have to suppose. 'Ego' may be the wrong word you're looking for, though. That'd be more a case of someone bragging about winning, putting it in your face. I despise Grim Determination because they are so good - but at least they don't go around shoving people's noses in losses.... Though this may be because they don't all speak english Not sure on that one, but *wow* are they good. -Ahlvis

    Lag

Funny thing about lag and measuring your Ping.... I've never done it, and have never - in any game - ever seen anyone benefit even ONCE from knowing it and having a meter with these readings in front of them. I just play the game, and accept that occasionally, there's a couple seconds of connection-lag. Am I happy? You bet I am - and I can't even tell you what key-presses/menu-options to use in order to bring up your Ping nor FPS readings. Just food for thought: maybe you'd be happier *not* knowing.
  22. Does this server not off-let any decent PvP videos? I'm no Xaos Kun; I don't have the time to put together such things. But doesn't anyone in PvP?! Is Server Begeren Colony devoid of any PvP film-artists? I only made 1 good PvP video, and it was as a trader in SWG. Grim Determination doesn't keep any in-German videos? Do I really need to start filming myself? Yours truly is no egotist.... But anyone familiar with YouTube knows this game is lacking some good PvP vids - and Begerern Colony is the proof of it! Will start loading up my Fraps before logging in from now on - but yours truly is operating on a sub-standard system. Anyone else care to be forums-rivals for the best PvP vids?
  23. So... This is a private event, just for your guild, that you are making public so that.... they can quit their own guild and temporarily join yours?
  24. The design behind the mechanic of having 1 Crafting skill per toon is working JUST FINE! In fact, /ThankDevs. YES, it is hard to dedicate time to alts in order to have ALL of the Crafting Crew Skills - but should we all *really* be able to craft everything on a single toon? Oh, HELL NO. The mechanic incorporates the ability to buy upgrades with Planetary Commendations, along with the idea of community trade; if you want everything available by your own means, you either need to dedicate a LOT of time to mastering all of the Crew Skills between 6 toons, spend your Planetary Commentations on upgrades, or - *GASP* - buy upgrades/items made by other players. The system is FINE - PLEASE DO NOT LISTEN TO THE COMPLAINERS IN THIS THREAD AND KEEP THINGS THE WAY THEY ARE! You are not meant to be able to craft everything inside of 1 month. If you have a family and don't have time to master all of the Crew Skills between 6 toons, so what? I don't care! I don't WANT you to! It was your choice to spend all of your Tatooine Commendations on those shiny objects; you want upgrades, BUY the ones that *I* made! The system was balanced with the notion of an MMO in-mind - a game-community where you don't get to have everything at your fingertips without effort or exchange of credits between different players. Sorry if your kids demand most of your time, but I don't have kids. Instead, I have time and money - time and money spent towards crafting crap in an MMO that you can buy from me!.
  25. A 'vigo'? I've not heard that name since.... Oh, before most SWTOR toons were born! Haha - great to see you around the galaxy, Anishor! Yeah, geez, what freakin' irony! I only noticed the other day that generators/focii even HAVE crystals in them, didn't even think to check out my own. But low-and-behold, I swapped the bumblebee from my saber to the Focus, and am now armed with a saber with a yellow +41 expertise crystal! And yes/no, Vimm; I have 3 level 50's, but really only play on my beloved Sage. The others are more for Crew Skills than anything else.
