The primary reason there are only a handful of guilds that have cleared HM and why topics like this generate so many polarized responses is simple: this game may have a healthy amount of subs and came back from the dead with the F2P model, but the player base that raids is TINY. Problem is less that things are too easy/too hard, its that the pool of non-terrible players that like to raid isn't large.

This game has a tiny PvE community, which is a shame. But it has been said for over 2 years now - SWTOR didn't really attract hard core MMO fans, it attracted Star Wars fans. That's why the community is so small, that's why the competition at the top is tiny, and that's why stuff has been and will continue to be cleared so quickly. Let's not even get started on PTS vs. how other games test content. I've been playing Wildstar since private beta and have literally played that game since February. It's a hard core game, a huge grind, and feels extremely rewarding. The problem is - we'll never get that with SWTOR in my opinion. The development team is tiny and this summer in particular is going to be extremely rough with no new *real* content until probably around October. Sad day, and I'm sorry for all the guilds that aren't even able to complete the content due to server issues. Hopefully Reckoning rethinks their wanting to "back out" and is able to jump in tomorrow. Killed Brontes after this, one of the Hands after the 6 Finger phase had full health. Additionally, one of the Hands in the final phase was at full health as well. Doubt it's working as intended but wasn't too difficult to work around.

This mechanic can be cheesed pretty easily. The first Beam is always at the entrance where you come in, so just stay out of that hallway. After that he bounces between the other hallways. He always (at least in two weeks of kills) goes to an opposite one. All you have to do is round the same corner back and forth.

If you think the KD gets to 21 stacks because of a lack of DPS and not on purpose then you don't understand how that fight works at all. I'd suggest you look at what Brontes is at during that transition. It's okay though, glad you got to watch our stream before your kills and ride our coattails. -
There is a graphic, it looks like a line going from the player to the boss. If you have it, run to the boss and it drops off. You're doing the fight wrong.

Wasn't accusing, probably should have said similar strat. The way we dealt with adds using a DPS, but we were tanking and not kiting so it was really tough on heals. -
If memory serves, Kephess in EC dropped two helms. Should go back to that, or keep the current boss at 50/50 and guarantee the implant on the last boss for at least 1 a week, shot at 2. There are a few solutions to this I think, but you won't convince me that the current way it's set up isn't a problem. I don't care enough to make a big huff, however, if Bioware holds true to what they said about new content patches every 9 (8?) weeks. I'll just be excited Nightmare is out.

Grats on your kill. We're often streaming live from 2 or 3 perspectives every raid - progression or farm, HM/NiM, and PTS. Good to see 7S posting their videos as well, grats on your kill. Glad to see we both came up with the same strat for Council on PTS, should make for a relatively easy night tonight (fingers crossed). -

For those stuck on Brontes you can watch our kill at http://www.twitch.tv/fridge_sa. Fight isn't bugged (although the circular-add burn phase sometimes spawns no adds) but it seems over tuned compared to the rest of the HMs. Fun fight, we 1 shot it once we got past the 6 Finger 2 Hand phase. -
Wait, you think we didn't participate in the SnV progression thread because we didn't raid a full night the first day and dropped out? We said from the get-go we weren't participating in that particular thread, and Ansalem posted at his own behest with the single solitary update. If you're concerned with our ranking however I am sure you can find the original post on http://www.dtguilds.com. Think it fell 3rd or 4th according to the Google doc. Let's not derail this thread though, it's for suggestions for those that want to participate. Thanks for putting this together, maybe we'll participate in NiM mode but no interest in HM. Fingers crossed for an API/armory type system.

His main is his Merc. I like having him on his Op for Thrasher because he can deal with Demolitionists the fastest, been doing that since progression but probably not necessary anymore. Old habits die hard I suppose. We don't Diversion them. -

Good to know, thanks! That's the consensus we came to at the end of the night (having to DPS them down) but we wasted a good 3-4 attempts out of maybe 10 total by Taunting the boss in the middle, which comically makes her turn and fire the laser in your direction but it's still "moving" (invisibly) clockwise. Made us think that was the mechanic but then we clearly kept dying. We were running pug Marauder, pug Sniper in UW/Arkanian, Sniper in UW/KD and KD Marauder so the DPS was far lighter than what we're accustomed to bringing. -
