  1. Dang it... I went the wrong advanced class twice! Jedi Shadow instead of Sage, and Powertech instead of Mercenary. I think something is wrong with me. Do you offer self help classes for learning to click the right advanced class when rerolling? I'm afraid I might make the same mistake again.
  2. I picked Frost for my first character, and saved the name Winter for later. I ended up giving that name to my Bounty Hunter, so now my pyrotech specced powertech is named Winter Frost. She shoots lots of fire.

    First Target

Why target the battlemaster healer with guard up when killing the fresh 50 anything right next to him is more efficient? He wastes his resources keeping up a target who is going to die (if he even can/tries to heal him at all), and you decrease the number of people on the field who could hinder you from completing your PVP objective. Keeping someone on the healer can always be helpful for interrupts, but calling people bad if they don't automatically focus the healer does not a good player you make. Good players learn over time how to prioritize targets in the heat of the moment. There is no definitive "kill this first".
  4. When I went Shadow, I was subscribing to the look they gave me at the character creation screen. Please don't take away my dress.
  5. This is deserving of a bump. Please add a way to do this! I have a 17 button mouse, and I hate having to set up all of the keybinds for that on top of my normal keybinds every time I make a new character, plus the other miscellaneous changes I like to make.
  6. They also stealth added Slow Time to the list of abilities that proc Harnessed Darkness. Not a nerf like the others, but it wasn't mentioned in the patch notes, either. I wonder what other stealth changes they've added.
  7. I played the Consular story the first time around as Dark side, and it always seemed laughable for most parts. I went out of my way to make my character say and do the most twisted things she could, but the Jedi Council still hailed her as a saint. It didn't make much sense to me. It seemed that the bad guys acknowledged the terrible decisions you make, so why couldn't the Jedi Council? They just kind of blow it off like "Oh, that was regrettable... But you still did a great job and we couldn't have sent anyone better than you!" I started a second Consular, and really... The story is a lot more enjoyable as light side. It's a story that was meant to be played light side.
  8. Nope. We're called ma'am here, too. Bioware does it in all their other games, too. Well, the sir part. They properly call people "Lady" instead of "Lord" in their other games. I believe Bioware's response to using sir was that it's easier on the voice acting, and apparently somewhere in the world they say "sir" for everyone. I feel more like they are just alienating their female player base... Especially with this Lord stuff! How hard would it be to give me the Lady title?
  9. Wall of Light is a PVE West server, and the Republic are still fighting strong! While we would absolutely love to take in a stream of new Republic players, we would definitely need some Imperial players to back that up! We definitely don't want an imbalanced server, even if it's imbalanced in the opposite direction.
  10. Come to Wall of Light (PVE)! Republic hasn't given up there, yet. In fact, they are the dominating PVP side. Imps are putting up a good fight, too, though. Our level 50 population is lower, so we never had any of the problems in Ilum. But if you're looking for a balanced server, come try Wall of Light! Imps and Pubs welcome!
  11. No thanks. Full Kinetic is better for tanking.
  12. lol? Kinetic Combat Shadows use Telekinetic Throw all the time. It's one of our top priority abilities.
  13. Wall of Light (PVE). As far as I can tell, we're pretty even on population. If there's more of one faction than the other, it's more Republic than Imperial.
  14. Informative post! I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter.
  15. Don't worry, your Rakata geared people will get all the Columi gear. I get gear off of every boss I've killed without fail. Do I already have something better? Sure do, but that doesn't matter. Do I already have that piece of gear? Yep. Still get it, though. Doesn't matter. Hey, at least my off-set is coming along nicely. I could probably out DPS the other people I've been running with since we started raiding if I decided to go DPS! Please fix system, Bioware.
  16. I can't speak for 16 mans, but 8 mans are 1 Tank, 2 Healers, 5 DPS typically. Sometimes my healers complain that the healing is too easy, though. You might be able to get away with 1 healer if he's very good.
  17. I love the way datacrons are right now. They are a fun challenge, and I would hate to see them dumbed down. My only problem with them, right now, is the way certain character body types are favored over others for gathering the datacrons. I play a female character with a 1 body type. My friend who lives above me plays a male character with a 2 body type. He is able to do all of the jumping across platforms with little problem on his character. He rarely makes a mistake, and if he does it's only once. I was having trouble with a few jumps in the Shadow Town area of Nar Shaddaa. After half an hour (of him making fun of me the whole time for being bad at jumping), he came down to do it for me, and he ended up having all of the same problems I had in the same areas. It took him at least 10 minutes before he finally made it past the two difficult jumps. Given the relative ease he had on his own character (I watched him do it several times), the only conclusion we could come to was that the gender/body type of my character inhibited my character's ability to do some of the jumps. One specific instance of this was a stand still jump onto a higher pipe. He could stand there, jump, tap forward, and land on the higher pipe. My character was not able to do that, and had to make a running jump in order to leap onto the pipe.
  18. A lot of the higher level planets, including the main level 50 planet, are all planets that land in Orbital Stations. It's such a pointless waste of time to walk through an orbital station and the loading screens that go with it. I thought they were mildly annoying but manageable while I was leveling. Now that I've been 50 for a while, I absolutely hate them and they are getting on my nerves. If I don't log off at the fleet, I have to fly to the shuttle, take the shuttle, go through the orbital station to get to my ship, fly to the fleet, get the daily quests, run back to the hangar, run through the hangar to my ship, fly back to Ilum, run through the orbital station, take the 2+ minute speeder ride to the PVP area of Ilum just to find out if I'm even able to complete the PVP daily at that moment, fly back to main part of Ilum, do my dailies, take the 2+ minute speeder back to the PVP area, see I still can't do the PVP daily, go back to the fleet, etc. There is just so much time wasted in traveling in this game. If I wanted to spend just an hour a day playing to get my dailies done, I'd probably spend easily half that amount of time just traveling across planets and I wouldn't be able to finish them.
  19. I remember those days, too. I had a lot of fun back then. However, I don't miss those days. At all. Just because players prefer new systems over old, it doesn't make them lesser than you. Stop being so stuck up.
  20. I agree with a lot of what you say, and I'm sorry if this has already been said but... I'm not sure how much of an issue this is with modifiable gear. If you like the appearance of something with mod sockets, you can use it for as long as you want. All of the stats come from the sockets, so it's just a matter of updating the sockets. If you get something with better sockets but don't like the look, just take them out and put them in the one you like. Now, I don't know if this changes later on, but in my experience, this is how it's been. I'm still using the cloaked tunic I got at level 10 on my Sniper, and it's better than any quest reward I've gotten because I've been keeping it up to date.
  21. I didn't say anything about the rest of what you said. I was just pointing out the illegitimacy of the one part of your comment. You can't complain that there's no one on the planet with you when there isn't even anyone else in your level bracket. Before I rerolled, I was the third highest level person on my server. I understood the fact that I was going to be alone in everything I did. That's why I rerolled. I see people out in the world all the time now.
  22. Yeah, that happens when you get early release and speed level. Not really a legitimate complaint. I had the same experience on my first character until I rerolled at level 33. Now that I'm leveling with everybody else instead of leveling ahead of the curve, there are plenty of people on the planets I visit.
  23. People have been asking for a way to disable the auto camera since beta. Please add the option!
  24. I think there are more than enough people who would like this feature. Bump!
