  1. Thanks for your responses. OK I know what to do . I have a level 30 Inquisitor so I will hop on that to unlock the buff Cheers
  2. Hi All, I recently decided to use my free instant 60 and as I didn't have a Consular/Inquisitor that had completed chapter 2 I thought "ok I'll do that one". On completing chapter 2 the class buff becomes unlocked. When you are on a different class, you apply the buff from all classes you have unlocked in this way. I cannot complete chapter 2 as the boosted character starts with the 1-50 character story complete but I do not have the unlock for the class buff. Do I have to level a Consular/Inquisitor to the completion of chapter 2 to unlock this? I can't find any info on whether this is just a bug or an intended feature. Thanks
  3. I wish more MMOs would use the Warhammer dual targeting system where you could target 1 enemy and 1 friendly target. They used it so the damage healers could work (healers that healed with damage). I still think it's one of the best targeting systems, shame I haven't seen it more (or anywhere else for that matter).
  4. I noticed this the 1st time I did a WZ on my Sniper at level 15 or so. I'm sure it all evens it's self out with what you lack to gain great burst (level 45 at the moment). If I'm left alone I can massacre players at range. If I get noticed I have to uproot pull out some tricks (stun and sutch) and am far less effective in the burst department till I set up shop again. You need to be aware of where the Sents/Maras are, they just love popping that short stealth of theirs and flattening Snipers with little warning. So yeah, Sniper/Gunslinger is great when players let you kill them, but lose that bursty edge when being pressured by melee. Oh and don't take this as gospel, I'm no PvP head, just my observations.
  5. I picked Vanguard as my first char in this game, however I am not new to MMOs lol. I <3 Vanguard as a Tank and DPS. If you play well in PvP you will be happy with Vanguard as it is mobile and has loads of tools to use. You have stuns, Harpoon (pull players to you just like Scorpion in Mortal Kombat ), lots of instant abilities, taunt for helping healers, interrupts for casters, Storm for SS spec (charge), with Ion Cell up you can protect healers/hut ball carriers with guard, the list goes on. Vanguard is a real team player and can be deadly played well. Commando I don't know too much about, they have all of the Trooper specific moves which includes Cryo Grenade (stun) but any more than this you will need a Commando to chip in here. I have played Mercenary (Commando mirror) to 35 and in PvP you can tear people apart and be torn apart but this is to be taken with a pinch of salt because it's pre 50 with no PvP gear and not all of the abilities. The short answer the way I see it is Vanguards are mobile and most effective in 0-10m range and can tank. Commandos are less mobile but have an effective range of 0-30m and can heal and have a 60 second CC (incapacitate) which for PvE is real useful. Now, just because Vanguard is most effective at 0-10m doesn't mean it's incapable of 10m+ as Vanguard does have a lot of 0-30m abilities. It's just that you will be much more deadly at 0-10m.
  6. I have levelled with a mate of mine to 29 so far as a Juggernaut (Tank Spec) and Sorcerer (Heal Spec) combo and so far we have Duo'ed all the content FPs and HC quests using our companions as DPS. It has been very successful and we have farmed all the gear we need and our companions need from FPs. Once we hit Colicoid War Games (and other content that you can't clear with companions because of game design) we will need to look for DPS but so far we are breezing through the game. When your companions are well geared I would argue that they do a better job at DPS than randoms. You can turn their AoE off and on and tell them who to attack and they actually do it . They will only break CC if you tell them to lol, there very reliable
  7. Yeah, I do keep Smash especially for the add spawn but have used it to maintain threat on current adds once and subsequently it was on CD for the next spawn which started me thinking. I use Scream, Choke, Ravage and Retaliation off CD also working in Vicious Slash as I move between targets. I tend to Choke the most annoying mobs with high damage output (and secretly RP while doing it, especially against Jedi ;p). These moves tend to provide the biggest hits, Ravage especially as it hits three times. TBH after finding that I will get an AoE taunt at 30 this should solve it as the 6 seconds should be enough for Smash to come off CD. I tend to use Smash at the begining of a pack for initial aggro and only during if its a big pull and its taking me a while to work my way round all the mobs.
  8. Cheers for the replies. Yeah, I think this is a symptom of using companions for DPS. They can put out the numbers but lack the AI to deal with and control situations. We have them both set on AoE for that encounter and our tactic kinda relies on me having them all hitting me so the splash damage off the boss kills the adds. TBH as all the mobs on the boss I mentioned are normal toughness I’d probably just leave them for the DPS to sort out. However companions just stand there and get whacked and if they go to the healer the casting push back is a real hindrance. Oh well, but yeah I really like playing Jugg Tank so not going to change and would be stupid to do so before properly experiencing it with all its abilities. Thanks
  9. I Like SWTOR. I used to like WoW but now I like SWTOR. I have no major gripes with either game but WoW bores me now.
  10. Hi All, I have been reading these forums and I have been reading a lot of negativity towards Juggs as DPS and I know to take all I see here with a pinch of salt. Now onto Tanking, I saw one comment probbably from someone who is clueless but they said that Juggs are also the weakest tank at the moment. Is there any truth in this? I have a level 25 Jugg and I’m playing as a Tank with a healer friend as we level (planning on staying Tank at 50) and from what I can see so far I can generate enough threat to keep mobs/bosses looking at me BUT when it comes to AoE threat I find the class weak right now. Smash is great but 15 second CD makes me cry inside and I hear it is being increased in the next patch. Ok there might be more AoEs for Juggs in later levels but do these make it easier to pick up adds? Example, Giant Beast Boss in Athiss. Set up X2 companion DPS (actually better than most random players ;p), Jugg Tank and Sorcerer Healer. When the waves of adds spawn if on one of the waves Smash is on CD it becomes a hopeless mess of an encounter and if we pull through it’s usually only just. I have a level 50 Vanguard and I leveled it also as a Tank and never had any issues with any aspect of Tanking. At the moment I find myself constantly switching target frantically trying to hit them hard a couple of times before switching to the next in between going back to the 1st kill main target so I don’t lose it to a DPS. Will Tanking as a Jugg become more comfotable and methodic and less edge of my seat frantically trying maintain threat on multiple mobs?
  11. I can speak from experince, I have just rolled a Jugg Tank with my friend who is playing a Sorcerer. He is DPS spec for the moment but he will spec heal when content becomes harder. For all tougher stuff right now he slips into Mr Heals very easy as DPS. We do all our questing, HC quests, etc... together we don't play these characters without the other. We destroy everything we touch, X2 DPS mode companions and we Duo FPs. Granted later we will need randoms for FPs (level 20 right now) but as a Tank & Heal combo finding those will be easy I think. You can't loose with a Tank & Heal combo, most fun I have had for a while and once we get our Sith companions it will be Lightsabers all round
  12. This is a lucky chain of crits and procs. Hardly OP and TBH against Battle Master geared 20/21k HP Sorc most of that will be eaten by their shield.
  13. Have you paused to think that it may be YOU that is OP and that this problem will stay with you no matter what class you play? Then you will come to the forums systematically calling for nerfs to every class that you grace with your God like grasp of computer games?
  14. 1 - I said 15+ 2 - Yes IMO it's not OP, but I have fun. Does this mean that if you enjoy a class it's OP? 3 - 4 - Profit
  15. And no, I don't agree. I don't think PT or VG will be hit with any nerf bat. I play VG and do not think we are OP. I think that if you play with 15+ keybinds on your Razer Naga, you will have full access to all the utility that the class brings. I think that if you limit yourself to only using abilities that are in reach of your fingers and thumbs and don't get the right peripherals for gaming, your are nerfing yourself. I only have Sentinel at level 11 so I will not comment on if it is great or crud. I will say that so far I enjoy it and I'm already making shift+keybinds to smooth out gameplay. This is something I do with every class I play.
