  1. Well most people are using lightsabers, and those cauterize the wound(with the exception of the one scene in episode 4 where Obi-Wan slices that guys arm off.) Blasters do the same. I figure they made the vibrosword combat the exact same as the lightsaber combat just with a different model, so thats why there is no blood.
  2. Oh the irony. I'd bet a million credits you'd get fed up and do worse under the same circumstances. People are human, and on the internet plenty of people can behave like they arent human. Any shred of decency is lost. And then you fools come along and say "If you cant handle it, get out" as if the internet is some exclusive club for only the toughest of manly men who have no emotion except hate. Get over yourself. The TB hate in this thread is just silly, and most of it is misguided or untrue. Some of you claim he thinks he is an awesome gamer who is good at everything, and in reality is bad, but this goes against what he has explicity said in many of his videos. He regularly puts himself down in regards to his skill in games. He never claims to be a great gamer. Hell, his stream is called "I Suck at Starcraft II". The man has no ego when it comes to his skill in a game. Now his skill as a commentator of video games is another matter. He does have a bit of an ego about that, but its entirely warranted. He is extremely successful and he entertains a large amount of viewers. He has earned that ego. Secondly, people claim he has an "Im right and if you disagree with me you are wrong mentality.", which on some issues is true, but on many issues it is not. He openly asks for criticisms, so long as they are constructive. Unfortunately most of his critics are not constructive, they are hate-filled trolls. You'd all react the same way to such criticisms. Thirdly, people complain about the interview, claiming he didn't ask anything new. Well, I hate to break it to you, but thats because we know everything they are willing to tell us. He can't tell you anything new because Bioware isn't letting anyone know anything new. The guy isn't perfect by a long shot, but hes a heck of a lot more proffessional and entertaining than anyone criticising him in this thread. Let your petty hatred of a random British video game commentator go, embrace the peace of the force like good jedi, and get on with your little lives. All that being said, the interview summarized issues that people would want to know but dont want to go digging around looking for. Its a nice compilation of knowledge straight from Bioware's mouth, and was nicely done. Did I want to know more? Yes. Did I expect that to happen? No, not really.
  3. My kingdom and a massive stack of credits for a Mandalorian title! D:
  4. Im a level 41 Merc. Up until 40 I was wearing pretty nice looking gear. I didnt look like a Mandalorian, I looked more like a space cowboy, but it didnt look terrible. (then again I kept my chest piece from hammer station the entire way lol) When I hit 40 I had already gotten all of the lvl 40 PVP gear and swapped out for that. 40 PVP gear doesnt look bad at all...unfortunately the rest of the PVP gear is horrendous...so is the raid gear (Though I LOVE the Powertech's helmet in the raid gear.)
  5. Asking a merc to stop using tracer is like asking a healer to stop using their heals...its just silly.
  6. As a Merc, in PVP the class I have the easiest time absolutely demolishing is definately the marauder. As soon as they get in range they just melt. Plus, the two saber thing is so over done. Fire, rockets, and blasters are the way to go. That being said, my first role was a Juggernaut and I loved it. Ive gotten to 41 as a Merc. So far, the Jugg story was more interesting overall. After the great hunt the BH storyline gets kind of boring for a while. However, something big just happened that has me interested again, so we'll see how this goes. Haha
  7. Yoda a sage? HA! Not a chance! Yoda only ever throws around force push and most of his fighting is done with a highly acrobatic force-assisted lightsaber form. He would definarely be a sentinel if he was anything in this game. And as for the OP, you think a lightsaber is more heroic than literally being able to call upon an element as destructive as lightning and hurl it out of your fingertips at someone across the room? A sorceror can tap into the most powerful of all powers, the deepest of the dark forces. He does not NEED a lightsaber. His power is beyond a simple sword made of light. If you wanted a heroic lightsaber fighter you have the warrior class to roll with. If Star Wars was just about lightsabers you wouldnt have any other class. Thankfully, its not.
  8. You know, this is acctually kind of funny. In my personal experience playing a Merc I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt the class type I have the most trouble with is the Assassin/Shadow. I can take down sorcerors fairly well, I can destroy marauders no problem, Im on even ground with most of these people... And suddenly an assassin comes out of thin air, stuns me, and proceeds to smash me into dust. Doesnt help that the assassins also seem to follow me around the dang battle field, always stealthed. I swear, I must have killed their brother or something for them to hold such a grudge. The only thing more annoying than an assassin is an Op/scoundrel, but they arent as deadly or tenacious when fighting me. Once you let off two tracers the Ops tend to stealth and run. Assassins stick around and go for the throat.
  9. Companions of ANY class arent the best. You really think Mako can compete with a player healer? Haha, no, not even close. Its not just the tanks. Companion tanks do their job just as good as every other companion, in my experience.
  10. As a Merc I usually whipe the floor with a Sorc, especially if they are also DPS specc'd. Now Assassins...those guys are just cruel. It seems like Im always getting stunned, smacked around, and by the time I finally get a chance to turn the tables on them they have dissappeared into thin air. And then the cycle completes. It doesnt help that I always feel like there are 3 of them on the map just hunting me down! Haha Out of all the classes I have the easiest time defeating Sorcs and Marauders, and the hardest time beating assassins and ops(who are just as annoying as assassins, but run away faster once you break their stuns)
  11. GUILDZ R SRZ BIZNEZ!!!111!!!!11 But seriously, I agree. If you need to fill out a detailed application involving previous experience in other MMO's(which does not apply to this game anyway) then you know that guild thinks far too highly of itself. As far as Im concerned, the game is suppost to be about having fun, not apply for a job. You can go out and do that in the real world and get more for your time.
  12. I dont understand this "Need to speak basic" thing...why do they NEED to speak basic? What reason? What, so that you can understand them? There are a ton of people in the game that dont speak basic. They give you subtitles. I always have the subtitles on anyway, so even my character has subtitles. If you have a character that doesn't speak basic it can just default subtitles to on. I would be perfectly fine, in fact more than fine, if I could have a character that DIDNT speak basic. It would feel so much more like Star Wars if not everyone spoke the same language. Some say its so you can "identify" more with the character...My main is a giant red skinned killing machine with spikes growing out of his face and glowing red eyes. He kills people for not calling him lord and weilds power this world has never even seen before. I could not possibly EVER identify with this character if I even tried. I am not a psychopath. Only a psychopath could possibly identify with my Sith lord. Language means nothing in Star Wars. We have subtitles! Hell, the opening to Star Wars isnt narrated, its written! Giant words that fly through space! A wookie is entirely viable. Now, their armor options would probably suck unless they made wookies their own class, but its entirely possible. Rodians and Trandoshians even more so. I want characters that don't speak Basic. Its the Star Wars thing to do. You think George Lucas would have said "Nah, lets take out Greedo and Jabba the Hutt because people won't understand them." No, he said "Lets put in subtitles! Language is not a barrier! More aliens!" You could then say "Well, all the main characters are human and speak basic." And to that I say "R2D2" You cant understand a thing he says and yet the entire saga is told from the perspective of C3PO and R2D2. Chewbacca too. The idea that we can't have a character because certain species dont speak basic is just uneccissary. It is extremely possible and I would welcome it.
  13. I play a bounty hunter mercenary. I have ONE stun move at level 32. ONE. And it lasts for about 4 seconds or less. I have a CC that lasts for 60 seconds too, but if you take any damage it turns off. Bolster doesnt effect the time of a stun or the amount of stuns at all. So yeah...keep believing in fairy tales.
  14. Wait wait wait... You are complaining that a level 15, who has worse gear than you and not even half of your abilities, is able to beat you? Im sorry, but either you suck, got double teamed, or are just extremely unlucky. Bolster only makes their stats equal to what they would be at a higher level. Gear is not factored in, and neither are abilities. So even with bolster YOU still have the advantage. I think you just want to run around the battlefield pretending you are a god while oneshotting everyone...until you hit 50 of course, then you are gonna be cursing PVP because everyone will be on equal footing and you dont have your advantages anymore.
  15. -_- 1) no matter how much you want to believe it, companion customization is not ESSENTIAL to the gameplay process. Its an extra thing. A vanity thing. Purely asthetic. 2) Think of it as a reward for being SAFE. The physical security key is cheap and it protects your account from being hacked. Not having one is just foolish. 3) Bioware probably doesnt make a lot of money on making the security keys. Its not about MAKING money on them, its about SAVING money. Every hacked account, every stolen item, every mess up caused by hackers and stolen accounts costs them money. They have to pay more people to handle the issue, work more hours, and deal with people canceling subs. By encouraging people to have a security key and protect their account(which is just smart) they are saving money. 4) Buy a dang key or get over the fact that you cant access 2 customizations for Mako that you will probably never use anyway. /endofrant
  16. There is a reason its called a need or greed system. You dont NEED the item for your companion, since you dont NEED your companion. You can group with others to fill that companion role. A companion is not something you NEED. If the item drops for a tank, and that tank would be better off in their role if they got that item, and they have been tanking for you, putting in their time and effort to tank for you, then they NEED that item, and they DESERVE that item. You dont NEED the item for your companion, you WANT the item for your companion. Thats why its called GREED. So roll greed, because thats what you are being, you are being greedy. Rolling need for a companion is just inconsiderate of other players. In flashpoints and against world bosses companions are useless. In a full group they arent there, and against a world boss they dont even fight. Your companion hasnt done any work for that item, while an actual player has. You've deprived another player of an item that is ment for their class so that your yourself can benefit while soloing. Thats called greed, which is why you are suppost to push the greed button. If need was acceptable for companions then that throws the entire need or greed system completely into anarchy. I mean, everyone gets a companion to fill every role, so everyone could just push need for everything.
  17. Just do all the quests you get. Thats what will level you the fastest. Quests give more XP than anything else in this game.
  18. You thought Black Talon was harder? Mabye its just because Im used to Black Talon, but I recently made a Trooper and tried out Esseles...that was like 2x harder to me than Black Talon, haha.
  19. Its a fleet where thousands of sith lords, bounty hunters, and agents hang out, all in one spot, shouting out "LFG Athiss!!!!111" and SPEEDERS are what ruin your immersion?! Look, I get where you are coming from, but Im also a lazy person. I'd much rather be able to use my speeder to quickly move around the space station than not.
  20. Yeah, I noticed this when I was leveling my main(Jugg tank). I was overleveled or consistent up until the late 30's, and then suddenly BAM! I was underleveled by 4 levels by the end of the next planet, and it more or less stayed that way until the end of my class quest. I had to do warzones and flashpoints to finally push myself up to 50
  21. You aren't a sith. The only people who closely resemble sith in real life are psychopaths. Literal psychopaths. You acctually have to be born with a mental defect that doesn't allow you to feel any kind of remorse, guilt, or happiness. Only then can you attain the heights of evil that a sith is capable of.
  22. Gotta admit, I ignore the heroics. Id rather just move forward with my quests and story than wait for 3 more people to answer a group request. It took me like 5 hours to finally get a group for Red Reaper, and thats a major flashpoint! (I dont know why, it seems like no one does Red Reaper. Same for Directive 7, but I found out the hard way that Directive 7 is bugged...or at least it bugged for us on one of the bosses.)
  23. Anyone ever visited the bridge of the Ziost Shadow at the Imperial Fleet? Hehe, well you'll find a nice little scene being played out there. Lets just say if you've seen Empire Strikes Back you'll know exactly what Im talking about. I know this is definately not new, but I thought it was a funny thing to point out.
  24. Ordered mine Oct 10th, its getting here on the 16th. I verbally expressed my excitement when Amazon sent me that text. lol. CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY THIS YEAR!
  25. You. People. Are. PATHETIC! I have loved Star Wars since I first saw A New Hope. I have loved video games since I first shot a demon in Doom. Among all the people I know I am know as the Star Wars guy and the gamer. That is how fanatical I am about both games and Star Wars. And yet you dont see me ready to crucify Mr. Reid for not being in EGA on day one. No matter how much you want it to be, it is NOT an issue. Its a freaking video game! Get over yourselves and your selfish sense of entitlement.. Grow up and be patient, young padawans. You will get what you paid for. Let Mr. Reid help people with real issues. Go back to constantly refreshing your email or something.
