  1. I can see how the Enforcer 2 pc set would be useful. How is the Field Tech PVE 2 pc useful? We don't have access to illegal mods as a Scoundrel.
  2. I saw a lot of other ppl with 10+ medals. The rest of my premade got medals at the end for the fast win, but I didn't. Edit: Xxxdragonragexx I finally get your comment after reading today's patch notes. It's a good change, but I'm wondering if the fast win credit will be applied to you then and give you your additional medals. Or if there are other requirements for obtaining credit for a fast win I'm not aware of.
  3. Ok, this has gotten silly. I've had 3 Hutt Ball matches where we get perfect team vs weak teams, and we literally have 4 min wins. The problem is, I'm not a great ball carrier. But I excel at locking out other classes and giving our ball carriers the best chance to score. Here's the problem, I usually don't track my medals when we're rolling, and ended a few matches 6 to 0 with 1 medal and get 0 commendation for the win. Worse is when I know I was productive in the match. Last night I ended with 70k healing, some minor damage I'll admit (but on fast games you really don't do that much damage as a healer), and yet still only one medal for a 2.5k heal. But at the end I got 4 MVP votes. I know it's a QQ post. I just don't fully understand the system. I thought fast wins were a number of medals on their own? Do you not get credit for that if you didn't meet the 3 medals minimum requirement? It just seems silly to force us away from playing the game intelligently so that we can farm our minimum 3 medals.
  4. Ok, I'm in love with the spec. But I have an itemization question in 1.2. My understanding is Alacrity is useless on SRMP. I can see some value to Alacrity on UWM casts, but even then it seems like I'd only see benefits if I stack it. The other problem is, I feel my options are very limited. It's either Crit/Alacrity or Crit/Acc. My question is what Mods and Enhancements should I be looking for in 1.2? Are there Crit/Surge or Crit/Power ones I should be looking for from other classes? Or I'm I screwed and should just stack Crit/Acc? Thanks for the replies and Thanks for sharing this gem with us Wohast. I've already had a number of 0 death high medal wins with this.
  5. What do you mean by that? Recruit is above BM? How so? As far as I know, it's now Recruit < BM < War Hero.
  6. Just to clarify, I do not play for medals. My overall strat for medals just fits what I believe is milking every bit of usefulness out of going 31 points into Sawbone. There are idle healing times in PVP or times when the other healers have things well in hand. I never just heal, too many Emp premades stack healers on our server. So I HoT, interrupt, stun, cc, and damage. We are very mobile healers, and the new changes have made us even more so. I like taking advantage of every tool in our arsenal to make overall winning easier.
  7. I'm not sure what's going on with the HoTs, but they don't seem to count for much. Either they are barely doing any healing, or there is a bug causing them not to count towards medals. I'll usually HoT my wife's Sage during matches because she becomes a focus target every time. I'll also HoT some melee and a tank with guard up. My first match last night, I went for almost 2 min with just HoTs testing things and got 0 medals. As soon as I cast 1 UM, boom 1 medal. My strat for medals is simple, and the patch didn't change much: - Find a focus target on your team early in the match UM and KP them. That gets you 1 fast medal. - We are one of the most mobile healers, so I'm always looking for enemy healers to annoy. Find a healer or weak target and hit them with BB and BW for a damage medal - Use Orbital everytime its off CD to force IA Snipers and Inquisitor healers to move, or when they have a melee heavy team bunched up. Also keep vital shot up on a couple of targets. This should speed up your # of kills medal Overall with the patch and my playstyle, I went from averaging 3 to 4 medals a game pre-1.2 (I liked taking advantage of my stealth, and getting sneaky caps) to averaging 9 to 10 medals last night.
  8. The community is pretty young, and I bet there are numerous forums hosting anything from hardcore to the more gut feeling theorycrafting discussions (I did a quick search and couldn't find a list). I've been mostly reading the discussions on sithwarrior.com. However, I was wondering if I'm missing out on other bits of information that might not be included on those websites. What other websites would you guys recommend for class discussions and theorycrafting? I'd prefer forums that include Smuggler/AI, but as a guild officer I'm also interested in the mechanics and community consensus for other classes. Thanks
  9. I think it's a temp fix if anything. The 1.5 from KO will help most people from getting owned too quickly, but the damage reduction will last until 1 or 2 tiers from now. Health values in MMOs generally grow slower than damage with tiers, and eventually we'll be back where we started with people getting burst in an indefensible amounts of GCDs. I like the idea of the OP better, but it will also have the same results. Maybe if KO made Dirty Kick last a shorter amount of time or something, but that would probably swing the pendulum in the other direction too strongly. Not sure what the answer is, maybe fletchette should only affect NPCs with the armor debuff. But most developers hate that kind of stipulation as it confuses new players .
  10. I like the idea, but it will not work. Server communities have been formed, this would be almost impossible to push through. These posts are getting tiring. Bioware (or I should say EA) give us an official stance so we can decide if this is a game we want to stick with.
  11. Putting the train back on track, what I really need -functionality wise- right now is a Buff/Debuff tracker. Heck even in FPs it becomes hard to keep track of my dots vs everything else cast on a mob. Those little tiny icons are very useless and they are not separated into yours versus others as far as i can tell. Plus the fact that I prefer progress bar style for my own debuff because they are so much faster to visually read for me.
  12. Yeah I'm a big fan of keeping it simple yet functional. After a lot of experimenting I really liked the concept of information being displayed from the center of the screen or character growing outwards in order of importance toward the edge of the screen. That way you minimize eye travel time and optimize overall pvp and raid performance.
  13. All I want is to get my UI to look and to some extent function like RealUI. I used RealUI for months before quitting WoW, and it was one of the most optimal interfaces I ever had. Here's what it looks like Screenshot
  14. I knew it was going to be an issue, but my first 10 min of playing it didn't seem so bad. I then queued up for warzones, and that's when frustrations began. As a smuggler, not being sure if dirty kick and flash grenade are back up yet is just silly. I'd hit dirty kick a couple of times before I'd realize that it wasn't up yet. Whatever you were trying to fix Bioware, this was not the correct approach.
  15. I was thinking about it and understand why they wanted to change something there. They are trying to separate the feedback users get between "out of range" and "on cooldown". This is useful for classes with Short-Mid range abilities. However, I cannot see how this got past class leads and other game leads. It kind of escaped us too, it was in the patch notes last week or even sooner iirc. This really feels rammed in there, for a problem that was minor at best compared to a number of others. They just need to revert it and think on it some more, or just give in and open the UI up to us.
  16. That excuse is getting old. Yes WoW has had the time to get very polished, but SWTOR feels like such a finished product, that small things you expect to just work catch you off guard. I've honestly loved the game so far, but the social portion of the game is very poor. Between the GTN, current LFG system, and guild being no more than chat channels it really does often feel like I'm playing a solo game. These are not some small perk features to the game, they are core. Right now there is no incentive to use the GTN or the LFG.
  17. I'd rather boycott the current LFG system. That's historically been one of the best ways for devs to decide to fix things (along with countless QQ threads). I'm just glad I can do most of my grouping with my wife and the guild. You can't even have a macro right now to spam chat with for advertising.
  18. GTN is unusable to me. I was looking for a helm to put on my companion, and it took me 20 min to come to the conclusion that there wasn't one. It's become simpler to ask crafters on the guild if they have this or that pattern. So far the only good thing that's come out of the GTN for me is people selling things for under what they vendor for. I've made decent creds with that. Keep in mind that a lot of people probably do what I do. Every blue and green gets analyzed for use by companions, if not I send them to alt for later use. Also 4 of us close friends send them to each other when we can't find a use for them.
  19. Yes you can. My wife made me the level 29 blue one. Re engineering seems to be chance based. I have green stim recipes that are grey skill wise that took me almost 20 tries before I learned the blue version on Biochem. It's very frustrating to dump so much money to learn the blue then purples.
  20. Yeah I got stuck using cover yesterday. It sucked, and "/stuck" didn't seem to work or help. I have to warp out, which luckily at the time was not on cooldown. I guess you have to avoid cover that is a tight fit between two objects is what I learned.
