Please don't turn this into a flaming match please. The argument is that Imperials get a quest to obtain a modable offhand from saving face [+2 heroic] on their capital planet and Republic DO NOT. How to obtain a rare drop is not the issue here. It's about yet another discrepancy with unfairness when comparing what can be achieved from both factions. Yes you can get a rare drop in republic's most wanted, Yes you may or may not get one out of a box. Yes you can maybe win one in the Esseles Flash Point if you are lucky. Yes you can BUY a scattergun or vibroknife(only usable by HK-51 on republic side). Yes you can PURCHASE ANY OFFHAND from the Nar Shaddaa Equipment Commendation (On Fleet or NS) vendor for 14 planetary comms that can be equipped at level 22. Yes you can pay a fortune on the GTN for one that was looted and be exploited in the price because of the rarity of actually getting one. It is not that easy to obtain a low level 9-11 offhand on the republic side. There are so many repeat rewards such as chest piece after chest piece in the republic low level heroics, so what would be the big deal if BIOWARE actually changed the items on just ONE of these quests so that republics too could get a low level modable offhand just like the imps do. If anyone is objecting to this suggestion it would seem like they are scared at losing the opportunity to extort unsuspecting players in to buying the offhands off the GTN for sometimes upto 250K for something that is level 9. I really hope BIOWARE pay attention to this imbalance that is blatantly obvious. Safari

if you do as I suggest below, we would be able to give gifts to our companions without having to get off our ships. This would be easy to implement if you just made it so we can target the desired companion and right click the gift from our bags. Easy then community happy. I fully concur why in blazes name do you offer so many chest pieces that are super ugly at that. You could easily fix this with one of the Heroic 2's, the face merchants that offer stupid prototype legs would be an excellent quest to fix this issue with. Oh and dont forget for 14 comms you can get any offhand from Nar Shaddaa Equipment Commendation Vendor which is before tattooine in the scaling of level, but I believe you must be lvl 23 to equip them. So the imps still get an unfair advantage once again. I have no idea why you have such double standards across the two factions.

Yes, OTG has never had a member cap, so recruiting is always open, with certain newer chapters, their maybe a slight freeze during launch etc. But for OTG general membership recruiting is always open. Being Level 45 and just turning up to the event is all you need to get the uber datacron that gives you a +10 to all main stats. The clones are so funny to watch. The event was a fantastic success, from the chat afterwards, seems like we got close to 200+ people their +10 Datacron. Cynn as always pulled off yet another successful event. This is a really simple suggestion, not much to it but would like to see this happen please developers. How it works is like this: The moment you open the mail box, you enter a rested state. The moment you Close Mail Box, you exit a rested state. Can make it so that it does not extend beyond log out. Mainly because the mail box would then close therefore rested state will cease. So people would still be encouraged to go to Proper rest zone before logging out for the night. I spend so much time mailing things back and forth to my crafter's that It would be so nice to do these chores and gain rested. There are many alt-a-holic crafters like myself, that loyally subscribe that would really appreciate this. You could always make it a subscriber feature too. Not sure why or if they updated it/took it away, but C2-N2 and 2V-R8 seem to have lost or never had a weapon proficiency. It's rather funny really because a friend who does use ship droid for heals, said to me, that if you use them for healing companion and deck them out in droid armor bits. If he gets caught having to attack instead of heal, he goes up and punches them in the face, BECAUSE he has no weapon to use. I think it would be rather hysterical to see. I might try it out for the laugh factor.

The "Warlord's Chestguard" which is a crafted item wearable at lvl 47, has the same graphic as the BT jugg body armor, but the inverse colors to it. I got that now, it looks fantastic plus its augmented I have the matching augmented "Warlord's Greaves" it looks really nice as a substitute.... But one that looks identical to the BT one is "Echani Riveted Breastplate" but that is a green rated lvl 15 heavy armor I picked up in DK, cant wear it for long (I have it in my bag, you could have it if you are on the same server as its BoE). It has 14 str 16 end. So you out level it really quickly. All the best in getting these BW to put it back in/fix the drop rate so it will drop. IF they really did take it out. But there are some options as alternatives.

I don't have enough technical know how to understand what needs to be done to actually see things through to implementation of an idea, but this sounds really good. Also, In response to a few posts up I TOO will happily rename anything to get the population sorted. Do any of you guys that understand coding, think this is a real possibility?

I just had to say something, because I was OCD about getting that piece of armor, because I liked "The Look". I started my solo running of it at around level 20 which you might already know you don't get XP off the trash mobs only boss fights. I think it was around 565 xp from the bosses. I gained light 5 and 10k affection with vette, by level 22 and in all my runs which got me to level 24. I decided to call it a day and admit defeat. I was never going to get my chest piece. I even reported it as a bug to CS. But their response was to tell me its suppose to be that way. That they could not award me the armor manually. Well I was a little OCD in the number of times I did this run, I did not want to believe that it does not exist any more. I think it was in excess of 200 runs, my guild asked if I lived in the Black Talon. I have been told by many that it was taken out in BETA, but I don't like to believe rumours or heresay, I have to prove things for myself. But I have yet to meet anyone that has it. If you check out the site that lists that chest piece, the last time it was sited was in NOVEMBER 28th or so, which was before release. This kind of holds creed with the rumour and speculation. I would Love for them to return it to the loot table for BT. I really have to conclude from experience of my obsessive runs that it does not exist any more. The only positive thing about my experience was, my title "The Pure" and being able to display it at level 22. I really do hope that BW get this back into the Flash Point. I concur 100% I love this idea and miss it because we had it in rift. Great Post. If this gets coded in. I will be the first to enable it. This builds a sense of community to know people close by are trying to interact with us. With so much visual to this game. The last place I want to look is General Chat. As it stands I have say and Emote going to my main active chat windows. But I am way too busy enjoying the awesome animations for the game, to fully monitor what is said in say and emotes and yelling. Being able to turn it on or off will make everyone happy and give us the freedom of choice. LoL if you really want to develop this idea with keeping in theme to the game ... rehire those voice actors and let our characters actually SAY it out loud like the NPC random conversations. LoL yeah I know that is a big stretch, but maybe something you genius developers might be able to do and really PULL a NEW idea out of the hat, something NO ONE in the Galaxy has ever done before. With Text-to-Speech technology now in our grasps. I would have to say its not entirely impossible. I am sure we can all be accommodating with a slight mispronunciation. But I would be happy with speech bubbles too.

HMMM, where to start? OK I love this game. I am new to MMO's (Rift & SW:TOR). I am not a Sci-Fi fan either. Though this game has given me a passion for things relating to star wars, I even watched all 6 movies (LoL yeah I am a late bloomer hehe). This game has also succeeded in making me feel like a HEROINE (real female gamer here not a G.I.R.L.). I thoroughly enjoy the story driven aspect of this game. I wont rush through my cut scenes for anyone. The way I describe it to my NON GAMING friends is; "Instead of just watching the movie, YOU are in the movie, THE Hero of the movie!" This kind of sums up the feelings and emotions playing this game has me experiencing. Rift was also a wonderful MMO. But the community no longer exists, even though I still loyally log in and see what's happening round the place. It has become a ghost town. I am extremely concerned this is going to happen in sw:tor too. It has already started. Players are taking off to new games that haven't even been released yet. Each day another friend tells me they cancelled their subscription. I have about 22 days to convince them to re-subscribe. I am getting worried. AND I will not continue with this game no matter how great the story is, if there is no community to play with. I am in one of the largest guilds in MMO's and I am still seeing a major decline in player activity & population. I had a discussion with some players on the fleet after the first GW2 open BETA event. I was a little gob-smacked at the lack of people on the fleet in what would normally be considered prime playing time. We were talking about the downfall of the SW:TOR community at large. I am getting depressed at the loss of my second MMO. I will follow my friends be sure of that, as I will not stay in a game if there is no one to play with. During the discussion with other players on the fleet, one of the things a player (devout star wars fan) told me, was that I should not stress yet at the loss of players in-game. Star Wars has something special that no other MMO can ever compete with. That is the fans that LOVE everything to do with Star Wars itself. He also told me that when they do the merges of servers, the staying community will get put together to even out our populations. Then we should see things returning to normal. Sad thing is just yesterday I asked him if he had any idea when the merges would happen. His comment "Well those developers have not come through with that yet. Just another thing they are messing up.". They are pushing this MAJOR FAN to cancel his subscription. So far I have convinced him to join my guild, where we still have a rather large player base.
