  1. I'm quite on the same boat there, if we wiped somewhere in a HM, it was usually due to sloppy DPS and not due to a healing failure. The "problem" I see with the enrages in this game is that people are used to WTFinstagroupwiping enrages and not this "oh, the boss suddenly does substantially more damage, but we can last through this for a bit as long as special ability xyz doesn't go off". The Enrage doesn't really feel like an Enrage and thus people are quickly blaming the healer, regardless of the fact that they failed to kill the boss in time.
  2. http://www.torhead.com/ability/eEqrPpt/hidden-strike with http://www.torhead.com/ability/hfeivpg/jarring-strike is the Opener. Note that this stun does not last long, but it is where loads of damage is coming from. You can't really avoid it, unless you see the Operative through Stealth. http://www.torhead.com/ability/avfFa1u/debilitate is the standard issue stun. Actually - agree. I can't take stone-throwing Sages serious for a second, but get annoyed over Force Lightning all the time, even though it is the same, just with different graphics.;P
  3. Rift didn't have that at launch either, but it was added rather quickly (only server-wide at first). PvP was x-server straight away though iirc.
  4. I prefer SciFi settings, never been much into elves and all the other stuff related to it. The fact that this game is SW themed is not totally important for me (I like SW, but I also like loads of other SciFi better), however, SW offers the chance to integrate "Caster" style classes in an easy way, and I see this being tricky in other popular SciFi settings. So yes, I'd play this if it wasn't Star Wars. I am a SciFi kid, always will be.
  5. And I already got impatient when I needed around 30 REs for a proc and found it hard to stand. I admire your patience.
  6. Yes. Actually, it has become more common that I am getting MVP votes for healing. I usually don't queue up alone, so when your friend votes MVP for you, you are most likely getting some more votes after that as well. Generally I find it a bit easier to get votes in ACW/Voidstar as people recognize your healing more than in the Huttball randomness.
  7. Should be able to find a bunch of different topics on this, it is happening everytime that Tactical Advantage procs. I am not sure if it is intended to notify you with the giggle, but that's what it does right now.
  8. I think the hugest issue would be to get that working for Smuggler with the Scatterguns, I mean, they are ridiculous as it is (where the HELL are they pulling that thing from, especially the bodytype 1 females? There is not enough room under that cloak!). Imagine the Scoundrels having the Scattergun out constantly to match the Operative, it would be a laugh. I am fully with you on the general complaint though, the Blaster Rifle in Melee doesn't make much sense - I am just happy we have the Knife and not the Scattergun...
  9. That's why all Sorcerers are always standing around somewhere tapping themselves down and then healing up. As lame as it is, it is currently an efficient way to cheat medals. Only real useful modification would be that you actually have to be in combat to make the heals count, but w/e - I have seen DPS specced Sorcs top healing done due to the current system, which means as much as you can guess.
  10. Yes. I am enjoying myself. Of course some things could be better, but a lot of things could also be worse. For an MMO this fresh, I am fine with it. Would have been nice if the general levelling process would have been a bit longer, but complaints about endgame are not on my schedule; more stuff is also coming eventually, and currently I have not seen everything available yet. Having a job and real life commitments really helps!
  11. But you are a Bounty Hunter and none of your Companions can use that loot! <- Companion need roll logic. So the guy still thinks he is doing it right
  12. "Supertrooper" made me chuckle a bit when meeting him in a Warzone, because he couldn't live up to his name at all. And all those masses of people with the legacy name being the same as the toon name - when the toon name already fails, multiplying it won't make it better.
  13. I am quite happy I picked the Operative as my (first) healing char (history shows I'll end up healing on all chars that can anyway). It is a nice change of pace to mix around a bit with playing offensively as well as plainly healing in a group setup, plus going away from the simple "heal until your secondary bar is drained" scenario makes it more fun for me. While I agree the amount of different heals is really low so far, I don't mind going with it as it stands. There is always room for improvement in a game that has just been live for a month - other games didn't offer that much more diversity in spells for a long time either, and we all know balancing is an endless game for Devs to play, so I am looking forward to changes to the existing spells as well as possibly new ones.
  14. His voice actor used to be a Power Ranger, if that doesn't speak for itself! Johnny Yong Bosch
