  1. Windows Phone doesn't support Java, so "universal" app won't work on it.
  2. Still didn't have a chance to heal Operations, but I did come back to the Battle of Ilum with a guild group. We wiped several times on last boss. I seemed to fall behind in healing almost all the time, so Mercenary DD had to throw in heals as well. Unfortunately, we also wiped because people interrupted wrong abilities, so we had 12K lighting on everyone a couple of times and that didn't help either. Eventually we killed the boss though. Also I did Kaon and the only problematic fight there was the bonus boss. We certainly didn't have good DDs (one was fresh 50, other was the same Mercenary healer who specced DD, but didn't have much experience as one). We had 2 adds still up by the time boss started attacking us, so AoE damage from droid and pulls were really hard for me to heal through. Since I had to CC one of the droids it also stopped me from topping people up when adds spawned. Eventually we killed this boss as well. I still have to do other hard modes and Operations to feel more comfortable about my healing though. Hopefully the patch that is coming today will actually fix Medical Therapy and it will be slightly easier to keep people up.
  3. I have a level 50 Sorcerer that I leveled as DD, but had to switch to healing at some point. After I got the idea of how to use my spells, I never ran out of force or had trouble keeping people alive. I never healed Operations, only Flashpoints though, but normal Operations seem easier than Hard Mode Flashpoints anyway. However, I got bored at some point and decided that making an Imperial Agent might be interesting. I've run into trouble while leveling a couple of times as a healer, but the hardest encounter was a pack of 2 strong mobs that were ****** me and my companion in 10 seconds at Voss. Apart from that I "tanked" all elite mobs with Vector helping with damage dealing. Last night I joined a PUG for Battle of Ilum HM. Before we started tank asked me if I had a healing spec or gear as it's a hard instance. I did reach level 50 a week ago, so I guess my gear is OK (14.7K+ HP, 1500+ cunning with Rakata Stim, nice crit/surge). We cleared a couple of packs and the tank said "Well, your healing is not great, but at least damage is good", so I offered to leave the group, but they asked me to stay. I admit that Operative healing is worse than what Sorcerers can do, but what my group didn't notice is that instead of keeping tank at 100% I was trying to keep myself from dying as the group ignored normal thrash mobs which was firing at me of course. I didn't tell them that, hoping that it will improve or I will able to keep everyone alive (that's the point of having a healer in group, right?). So we reached the first boss (jedi/ranged guy) and tank pulled. Jedi jumped at me of course, so I broke the CC and started healing. Everything went somewhat fine though at some point I got way more aggro than I should have and I had both the jedi and the ranged guy on me. I remained silent and kept everyone alive. When jedi died group switched to the ranged boss and since they all were melee I was able to cast AOE HoT and top everyone up. Then boss summoned the turrets, I CCed one and one DD died (he flew far-far away from the stomp and tank and other DD dropped significantly) at that point three turrets got me and we wiped. I posted in group chat that I was "***** by turrets", so tank told DDs to kill turrets when they are summoned. I proposed to pull bosses away from where they stand, so we won't have to deal with them until after the bosses are dead. Since tank didn't say a thing to that, I thought we are going for another attempt with normal tactics. ...So when the jedi died, tank decided that it's time to pull the ranged boss away from turrets... and ran into a pack of mobs which DDs had to kill (that was one strong mob and 2 normal mobs; turrets are 4 normal mobs, but with one CCed it's just 3 normal making it actually faster to deal with them instead). When they all switched to boss again, one DD died from stomp again (same guy) and tank and other DD dropped significantly. That's where I've noticed that boss is actually glowing red. Hm, what does it mean? Well, that DPS was actually low, so he enraged. I tried to keep tank and second DD alive, but eventually failed. I rarely leave a group before it fails three times in a row at the same encounter, so I've decided to give at least one another go. I posted at chat that I'm having hard time healing through enrage, so they better do something about the damage. Also I've made some clarification about "pulling bosses away" which shouldn't be done in the middle of the encounter, but at the pull instead. On our third attempt we all grouped together on tank, so it was easier to heal than other two attempts. DDs switched to turrets, but it didn't matter since boss was already enraged and instead of staying on tank, switched to DD first. At that point we wiped again and I looked at chat only to see yet another bunch of complaints about my healing. I told guys that since my healing and not low DPS is wiping us to enrage I will leave and let them finish without me with another healer. The point I'm trying to make with this post is that even though Operative's healing is really low compared to Sorcerer's (no synergy, running out of resources is possible, Diagnostic Scan is hardly a "healing spell"), but sometimes actually killing stuff in proper order and doing more damage is what makes group progress. There were close moments when someone was going to die, but all deaths in that group happened only when boss enraged, not on thrash, not when both bosses were alive and doing their regular damage. I hope that eventually class gets more love in PvE and less silly changes for PvP that affect damage of those few who try to run Operations as "rogues". Tonight I might be healing my first Operation, so I will definitely have a chance to see how bad my healing can be in a big group, but I'm optimistic as at least I won't be running it with random people who have no idea of how to work in group.
  4. For me killing a new boss is rewarding on its own. When you're doing something in farm mode that's a different story though. Gear is there to keep you coming for more and stop moaning about 7 flashpoints, 2 raids and nothing else to do at level 50 if you're not into PvP. I don't really see how dueling a friend to check if you can win 1v1 with your PvE spec against certain class should be rewarded. Dueling should be a zero-sum game, with no valor rewards or it will be exploited the day it comes to live servers. We will get a hotfix the next day after of course.
  5. I know that certain game shouldn't be mentioned at SWTOR forums, but in WoW you duel for nothing as well, yet there are a lot of people outside both Orgrimmar and Stormwind. Something tells me they do it for fun and that's the best reward.
  6. One more Windows Phone user here. Want the app as well.
  7. I agree with these points. However you can buy mods or enhancements if you have 2 commendations. That's true for Dromund Kaas/Coruscant and above, but not for starting planets. Since all vendors are available at the fleet, you don't have to travel to each planet. Those mods might be useful for your alts or for selling at GTN.
  8. I have the same "issue" at level 50. I double checked all preferences and there is nothing in there that allows to turn those "New Codex Entry" messages to display. I'm pretty sure that I did see a couple of those pop ups at level 50 and then they just stopped displaying, so it must be some sort of a bug.
