  1. After reading the Vanguard Q&A I'm fairly certain BioWare's responses will be something along the lines of: 1) Powertech has like 3 or 4 very-low-damage abilities with 30m range, that's why you don't get defensive cooldowns, DPS or survivability. 2) But SHOULDER CANNON GUYS. That's a WHOPPING 30 dps. No healer can heal through that! 3) Copy to PTS. We gave you more burst. Now go roll a mara/jugg and shut up. BioWare hates PT/VG. /thread
  2. I wish I could link this to every PUG tank ever Bravo +1000000 internets
  3. Sorry, didn't mean to imply that it doesn't happen, only that the progression community doesn't seem as large on this server as on others and it seems imbalanced in favor of the Republic faction.
  4. Well, yeah, there's that. "I'm so sorry for your financial loss" Translation: "Thanks for the credits sucker. Transferring to Harbinger. Peace out!" If it's a problem or you think he's done something in violation of TOS, concisely write your grievances and provide links to forum posts, screenshots of in-game conversations or general chat logs, explain what part of the TOS you think he violated and submit a detailed report to the devs/community support. BioWare has shown in the past that it has NO problem banning people for much less shady things. If you truly think this is aggregious violation of TOS, then you owe it to other people to report it. Will you get your money back? Probably not. If he did in fact cheat and/or violate TOS, will other people end up sucked into his scam? Probably not. Roll of the dice; and you'll get no satisfaction or refund from it, but it's basically your last option- aside from throwing poop on the forums.
  5. I've been in raids with people from both Proper Villains and Silent Council and I've been impressed by both! I got my Warstalker title running NM EC with Wisteria and a few other <Proper Villains> after we were less than successful PUGing HM Toborro's Courtyard. We had some issues with the PUG tank loosing aggro and when we heard he was opening his rotation with a taunt we all /gaveup. I'll check out the threads, thanks to both of you for the suggestions. Hopefully with some luck we'll have a dozen raid teams come October and we'll finally be able to take a few server firsts from those stinking Republic swine!
  6. Why is this not a thing? Seems like there's only 2 or 3 guilds Imp side that have even attempted progression and most everyone else is sort of "meh" about the concept. There are 3 or 4 Rep side guilds with 2, 3 or even 4 raid teams. Which is strange, because we have a large community Imp side (Reps claim much larger than their side) and a lot of good players. I've talked to a half dozen people interested in (and capable of) progression raiding.
  7. Goodnight, sweet prince. Dead class is dead. Move on. Roll a Sin. That's obviously what they want you to do.
  8. Goodnight, sweet prince. Powertech Born: Dec 2011 Put on life support: Apr 2013 Pulled the plug: Oct 2013* *pending 2.4 live release
  9. So it looks like with the new "no respeccing while queued or in WZs" rules as of 2.4 this (admittedly quite cool) spec's days are numbered, unless you plan on leaving WZs if you don't pop Huttball.
  10. As several others have said, save your Basic comms for 5x [Vial of Stabilized Isotope-5] so you can get a crafter to make you a lvl 72 barrel/hilt. Use your classic comms on Dread Guard Relics, since those are better for most classes at the moment than the ridiculous Arkanian relics. Run HM 50 FPs until you have a good set of Hazmat gear (6+ pieces) Run HM 55 FPs until you have at least 6+ pieces of Black Market gear. Congrats, you're ready for 55 Ops. Also, don't forget, if you're DPS, crit sucks now (with rare exceptions), stack power for mods/enhancements. Stack main stat for augments, ESPECIALLY if you have taken the 9% main status bonus talents. Try to find a crafter in your guild who will make the 66 purple augs for you and buy the Thermal Regulators in bulk for 25-28k each if you can. Also, a full set of 12 MK-9 augmentation kits, plus installation costs, plus the augments is going to set you back about 3 million, so make sure you've got a set of gear you like the looks of before you start augmenting for endgame content.
  11. Our role will be giving the opposing team free wins when half the team drops after they see a PT in their group. /thread
  12. Well, your english wasn't the greatest, but as a PT of 2 years (8 months of beta), I have to agree. We used to be glass cannons. Now we're glass pea shooters.
  13. Player issues in Powertech forums: >No viable DPS specs >Not a viable tank >No burst >No survivability >melee but no gap closers >so few people even play the class anymore that there were no class reps for PT/VG Player issues in Marauder forums: >2 viable PVE specs >2 viable PVP specs >good survivability cooldowns >feelsgoodman.jpg ...and yet BioWare is focusing their attention on Marauders, Juggs, Mercs and Snipers. feels really bad man
  14. Seriously? Two words: "No" and "No". People work hard for their PVP gear and don't want it cheapened by someone in Arkanian getting bolstered to Conqueror, and vice versa.
  15. Any chance you could explain a little bit about how you pulled this awesome parse?
  16. As someone who's been playing PT since beta I've seen them go up and down, but since 2.0 they really are next to worthless in PVP. The DPS just sucks now. Nowadays an match over 600k is a good match. Back in the day it was possible to knock out 1,000k. Now that's practically impossible on a PT unless people are just lining up in front of you to get AoE'd and die.
  17. Honestly the Aim augments are probably your best bet
  18. Since Powertechs are (contrary to popular belief) basically a melee class, I believe they need a proper gap closer. It sucks getting knocked back by a boss and you're the last person in the raid to get back to DPSing.
  19. Buying 20 shares of Plutus ETF @ 100k per share on Jagerbombs
  20. Title says it all. The lack of a confirmation dialogue when deleting mail with attachments is bordering on silly, especially when the button to delete mail is *literally* a fraction of an inch away from the "get attachments" button. All it takes is a tiny slip when you're picking up your mail- just sneeze when you click- and you can lose a fortune in credits, GTN purchases, twink gear from alts, etc. Simple, easy fix for a really big oversight.
  21. I used to think the same way. Then I did some homework and theorycrafting, a little reading and watching PVP vids/streams, redid my keymap and practiced for two weeks. It turns out, the gear wasn't the problem. The player was just not as good as they could be. Now I'm better, and I crush fools. Still, sucks that I didn't hit Valor 60 before the BM bag patch. Some of my guildies got head-to-toe battlemaster gear in a week and a half. With the new system it will take me two months. GSFARGADPOP@#$%^!. Oh well. Back to the queue. *shrug*
  22. I walk out of every match with 9-12 medals, but I always give MVP to good healers and encourage the rest of the team to do so as well. I also do my damnedest to hunt, interupt and kill healers on site. Not surprisingly, I can always get a healer to PVP with me. PVP w/pocket heals = god mode.
  23. NOPE.avi I solo 90% of the PVP WZ's I play in... here's a summary of TONIGHT'S warzones... http://i44.tinypic.com/1q21vr.jpg See chart above where quite a few Warriors/Knights come in right next to me. A Juggernaut in my guild is literally the ONLY person to have ever beaten me 1v1 and I duel a lot too. If they're kiting you and you're just linearly chasing them instead of strafing out to Force Leap range when they try it, you're doing it wrong anyways. Also, for other posters griping about various things PT/Vang has and why it's a better class than your tank spec: You're talking about abilities that they don't get if they're Tank tree'd. Like Hydraulic Overrides (30% movement buff), 4th tier Advanced Prototype tree.
