  1. I put this under the title - BioWare hates pvp healers... Rating/commendation system is horrendous for pvp healers. We get no credit for kills of the people we heal and people can get the same commendations as us simply by using buffs and medpacks. It's absurd. The OPS panel and the right side of your console do NOT update properly. I can be healing someone and it appears that they're health isn't moving and they're going to die, then suddenly, it's full. Similarly, someone's health looks full and then splat, they're dead. TARGETING - Targeting players directly is impossible. Names are difficult to identify quickly due to the titles and legacy on nameplates... this makes looking for a name and then finding that person on the ops panel time consuming in a fast paced, damage intense fight. People die because you're fudging around looking for someone's name. I should be able to see their health on their nameplate and click on it to target them. Ilum is a giant mess. Standing around trading kills and trying to pull repubs out of their base to achieve daily quests is pathetic. It is poorly designed and the antithesis of fun. PVP is meaningless. It has no impact on the world, the guild, the faction. It's boring. People farm it for gear and that's it. Warzone's are stupid and the worst sort of pvp out there.

    I beat the game.

LOL spoken like a kid who just learned what MMO's are. I guess you're unfamiliar with UO and Asheron's Call (darktide). Personally, I (and much of my guild) are looking forward to Tera and Arch Age... also open world pvp games. I don't need millions to play a game. Just enough to keep the game developing well and a populated server where anyone can kill anyone. Enjoy your wildly popular, buggy, unfinished and boring gear based pvp with lots of epeen and ratings. Me, I'll find a game that lets people get killed for ninja-ing quest items or saying stupid stuff in general chat. That's fun for me.
  3. It's not 2005 anymore. They should've built a 2012 product. They didn't. I'll be happy to give them a few months - if they stop charging me for a few months. How many products do you spend your money on that are incomplete? Will you buy a car without a speedometer or seats? You don't actually NEED those for the car to work. Perhaps you'll be fine with buying a house that has no drywall or faucets or whose lights aren't yet hooked up? MMO's are the only product I can think of where people happily pay for an incomplete product with shoddy, workmanship. Stop comparing the game to WoW... That game was developed 10 years ago and came out in 2005. If you want to buy 2005 products - I've got an old cell phone I'll offer you for 200 bucks. And an old laptop with 1 gigs of ram... and solitaire on it too!

    I beat the game.

Arena's aren't pvp... they are multi-player duels. PvP happens out in the real world when you're not prepared or expecting it.
  5. So in several months you will have properly completed the game that we are paying full price for today. Good of you to bill us for beta access. Interestingly, I bet most people would've paid for beta - even full price. Had you just said it was beta and that it was incomplete but that beta access would be made widely available for 15 bucks a month, you'd have saved the public and yourselves a lot of frustration.
  6. Nobody is proud of anything - we're bored and we'd like to see you guys out fighting in the world more often. Not in Ilum for rep or valor or quest rewards... out in the world - for FUN. I know with all the dailies and other work-product they put in these god forsaken games, it's hard to remember what fun is... but personally, I find it fun just to jump in and enjoy a good brawl with 40, 50, 60, 200 players having an all-out battle. Surely some of you on the Republic side must enjoy that too?
  7. An Operative in our guild regularly heals for 400K in a single warzone... that sounds pretty good to me.
  8. Silly Kyoji - everyone knows Repubs don't pvp outside of warzones.
  9. Bump - because this should be a priority...
  10. LOL - they aren't listening to you or anyone. ALL of these items were brought up by beta testers months ago. Bioware knew they could release the game and suck in your hard-earned dollars without fixing it, so they did just that. Also - if you read the entire post, many of these updates are months away. Only a couple will happen in the near future. Some of them are at the "we're looking into ways" to do it. Which means they don't know how to do it and they aren't even working on it yet. If Bioware cared about or even understood pvp, they would never have made a pvp quest for Ilum that requires you to NOT kill the enemy in order to get the rewards. They would've take the WAR part of Star WARS seriously and integrated pvp into the story and created meaningful pvp where players would reap rewards beyond gear... and where territory would be owned and fought for - and rewards would result for the victors. They would've created a world that wasn't "phased", splitting up 40 players on the same planet to ensure that players rarely come into contact with one another as they quest. I could go on... this is a band-aide, to cover a gushing artery. A lot of pvp'ers are killing time here while they wait for Guild Wars, Terra or Arche Age... the issues with this game are so ingrained into the game that it will never be a proper pvp game. This will always be pvp light for casual gamers who like to do their pvp in game arenas, rather than risking being ganked or losing something as a consequence of being killed. If any of the DAOC Mythic people are working on this, they must go to bed and cry at night... I'm confident they have/had lots of great ideas for making pvp fun and exciting... and i'm equally confident that EA/Bioware has nixed most if not all of those suggestions. Welcome to the big business of gaming... fuel the mass market casual gamer and rake in the $$$... while the audience that really build this genre through their support and loyalty gets left with nothing to play that suits their preferences. The pvp MMORPG is dead. Let's hope one of these upcoming developers locks in on a niche and makes something we can enjoy.
  11. I just spec'd into damage and out of healing altogether. Healing in WZ's is pretty useless. Targetting is horrid, the UI sucks, and heals aren't strong enough to hold people through - unless you're fully geared - in which case why are you in warzones... Top that off with the fact that we can't play as a full team and it makes this a boring and unsatisfying experience. I've played a healer in MMO's since Asheron's Call - and this is the first time I've felt mostly useless and largely unrewarded by the game. The person who said you just have to be interacting is wrong. You have to do damage. If you're focused on doing damage, you're not healing.
  12. I'm level 50 and I can't produce those stats... care to share your build and armor details with us?

    This is PVP?

Yep - i wont' be staying after my month ends. They should've named it "tales of SWTor"... for a game with "star wars" in the name, there's no war to speak of, where pvp is concerned. Sadly they will still make money - the star wars brand is like Apple. You'd could label a steaming pile of poo with the name and still make a huge profit. It's a shame. It's a fine single player RPG with some multiplayer elements - but it's not an MMO and it's certainly not a pvp MMO. If you like PvE, I'm sure you'll enjoy this game. But for me, PvE is a means to an end. I don't care about the story... I just want to max level and get out there and have some epic battles with other players. Sadly - on my server, there is no significant world pvp.. and there's no compelling reason to leave the space dock when you can sit there and farm the market while you wait for huttball que's (because 90% of the games are huttball against your own faction - if you're empire).
  14. I have now been waiting 1 hour and 37 mins to get into Veela server... where I and my guild have played since day 1 of early release. As was noted earlier... many of us are lucky to have 2-3 hours to play (if we're lucky). If we can't log in during that time, we can't play. We pre-ordered. We participated in beta and answered your surveys and provided feedback. If you can't increase caps - then immediately offer server transfers. You can't honestly have launched an MMO without also planning to provide server transfers to people. This isn't new technology and these are problems that MMO's have faced for years. You should have been better prepared.
