  1. Ummm legshot them at 30 , take 5 steps back, profit? If you fighting a sage in his range your doing it wrong. LoL at all the tracer missle spam complaint. Slingers have the only ranged interupt in the game...tracer missle shouldnt be an issue. Interupt them, los, and if you have to flashbang them to interupt. Commandos are **** compared to slingers my battlemaster commando gravity round hits OK but not impressively hard, and O wait I have to be completely IMMOBILE to do the ONE ability that is my main dps. Yet slingers/snipers are less mobile except that in 2-3 specs they barely use cover....go figure...

  3. Yozbick I like both you suggestions above. Although I don't "hate" cover like a lot of people, it really does need to be streamlined. Do you really feel that slingers/snipers are so squish? My Gunnery commando with battlemaster feels really squishy when i take ona sniper. And of course the outdps me considerably...

  5. Where did all you people who know what you are talking about come from! Thank God! I was losing my faith in humanity there for a second... My biggest complaint about Crouch is that it doesn't work in many places, close to ledges, eneven ground, and the like. But if you learn how to avoid these spots it really can be pretty awesomesauce.
  6. Sorcs can't run far from 35 meter range, very easy to out range them. And if your running from sorcs your bad...that's what they want.
  7. /slapsface I swear noone reads before they post. There is no other ranged class that can do the dps of a Slinger/Sniper. Those who keep saying that a commando and sage can put out the same dps as slingers are just straight wrong or completely misinformed. "Here's a question for you. Why wouldn't you just go Scoundrel because this is there fighting style plus stealth and some heals just in case. With dots and movement there is no burst damage. Dots only really work on other gunslingers and sniper since all other classes have easy ways to purge them on short cool downs. " First of DF sucks for scoundrel for many reason but basically becasue you have a 10meter range for most of your attacks which is kinda off for melee, i've seen people use if but the other specs are better for pvp. I wasn't aware that ALL classes have a "purge" on a short cooldown amazing how i must have missed that. The heal specs can spec to remove two negative effects with a relatively short cooldown. And if they waste a purge on my dot then gg i have done my job and can reapply that dot whenever. DF has ridiculous burst...just because its a dots spec doesn't mean Wounding shots doesn't hit hella hard. Two dots +sab charge and Wounding shots will put a hurt on any class.
  8. Setup for two Slinger specs. Run, dot, keep running , dot again, Channel or insta(depending on spec), keep running, hit Quickdraw, keep running, target dies or redo rotation. Setup for commando. Run in , channel or cast grav round, grav round, grav round, run to chase the target that los'd you after the first grav round, channel, run to chase him again casue you got losed with no root, die to the melee stabbing you in the back becasue you have a huge gun and are an easy target. Clueless posters are clueless...
  9. Explain to me then how my Gunerry commando can't do jack to anyone with expertise because they get Los'd like a troll after the first grav round. While snipers absolutely drop me with 2 dots and a channel(lethality)in 6 seconds. Yes i have the same expertise, yes i use my one crappy cleanse that does jack, yes I try to Los them but it doesnt matter because their root is always up. I could interupt them but damn i don't have an inturrupt and my stun is down...i'll just heal O **** my heals suck and i got interupted, damn that's right they get a ranged interupt on a what a 6 sec cooldown. Commandos/mercs have horrible utility unless heal specced. No root, no reliable slow, 1 crappy stun, a knockback that is great for huttball, a horrible 2 sec castable single target 10 second CC that breaks on damagepy heals if dps specced, and heavy armor...Yay. O and granted I don't have a slinger at 50 yet but I have played loads of games in the 50 bracket against snipers as a commando. And man do i have to play TWICE as hard to do half the damage as the snipers and slingers on my team. I'm starting to think there is jut alot of bad Slingers/snipers out there who don't know how good they have it.
  10. He's refering to the fact that good players will always target a sage first because they might be heal specced. And yea if you have a choice you should be targetting a sage/sorc first in most pvp situations.
  11. Again to anyone who says Slingers/snipers do the same damage as the other ranged if not paying attention to the discussion. They have the strongest ranged burst in the game. Sages/commandos and their Imperial counterparts just dont come close. And to those who think Slingers/snipers are immobile you never played a sage or commando lol. Much more Turret based than Slingers other than their 1 cover based spec. If you don't believe me look at all the other 50 Slingers POSTING links in THIS THREAD showing the ridiculous damage and burst they put out. And i don't buy the damage doesn't help your team argument. If I have 400k damage and 40 kills not only will I be getting 6-7 medals but i will be saving my healers/tank /dps by using my DPS to kill the nasties hitting them with lightsabers. Also the recent update did wonders for the cover mechanism, now it generally works as soon as i push the button. Still needs some work but ti's coming along.
  12. I think alot of the negative posts in here really don't have a clue how to play the class, or don't play one at all. Slingers have better burst in all 3 specs than any other ranged. I didn't believe it till i rerolled from my 50 gunnery commando but the difference is night and day. And they are by far more mobile than the commando/merc Gunnery spec, so much moreseo it's not even a comparison. Sages/sorcs need to cast or stand still for their nasty dps to be effective, while Slingers/snipers can do sick dps while moving in 2 out of 3 specs. Utility please. 3 second stun on a 30 sec timer, AE blind on 1 min timer, single target root on a 15 sec timer, knockback, cover can't be charged/pulled, better shields than Commandos/mercs. Cover can be buggy i will give everyone that. Nothing bursts harder than a Slinger/Sniper other than maybee a sent/maura with lucky criticals.
  13. I honestly think we have more utility then any of the ranged dps. Sure Sages can heal but if dps specced shouldn't be and if they are its pretty ineffective. Besides healing isn't as strong in pvp here as in other games. Gunslinger CC is very strong...it has helped me save myself and teamates numerous times.
  14. I agree with the above poster about the movement buff from Sages/Sorcs. Overall I think our passive stationary cover survivability somewhat makes up for that. Sages and Sorcs really are incredibly squish and usually should be a good players first target so they kinda need the speed boost for an escape mechanism. I do agree in its current form its way to powerful. Couldn't agree more about the second point....cover is great when it works right and a hinderance whe it doesnt.
  15. Lol at saying Slingers are less mobile than commandos/mercs...even sages/inq is a strech. After 50 i rerolled a slinger because of the horrible movement restrictions of gunnery. O yea and Slingers also do considerably more single-target damage than commandos also. By far one of the if not THE most mobile 35 range class in the game.
  16. FP's all day on Republic side on my server. Doesn't even matter if it's 2AM there are people on fleet making groups. And we destroy Imps in both 50 and >50 Warzones brackets...go figure. Republic is really strong here, even though we are outnumbered the community makes up for it. Also I have a 30 Maurader on the same server and I realy didn't like the class storyline at all, too much smacking of woman and emo Darkside choices. But in the end i guess it's all preference right?
  17. All the haters are blind, there is nothing on the market even close to as good as this game is NOW. They can talk smack about how the UI sucks and how the server populations are very empire heavy and bla bla bla. Why people think they are entitled to things in a game they are paying for will always amaze me. As i said before it's our "I want it now now now" society that propogates this very juvenile behavior. Enjoy it or don't play and troll the forums, it's as simple as that.
  18. Nice post OP. I find it histerical that almost the entire first page of responses were flames. I've played every mmo ever, like many here started with UO and moved on th daoc, EQ, wow and everything in between. I love the genre and have been lucky enough to follow its progression for almost 20 years now. I'm a casual player but have experienced a piece of the end game content in most mmo's. The major argument i hear against Swtor from all the naysayers is this, well this isn't 6 years ago and we expect more more more from our gaming experience. Honestly sociologists could come to the forums and read General after ANY new games release to better understand the wacked out mindset we have. All i hear from anyone complaing about a GAME they PAY for is I want this that and the other thing because I'm entitled to haveing the best gaming experience i can. Guess what, noone is entitles to anything in this world especially something you are paying for and can stop paying for at anytime. Youth today and really even people my age , 31, are so spoiled into getting whatever it is they want, when something they FEEL isn't right they cry, moan, and bish about it because they can't deal with the reality of an imperfect world. Or are just to emotionally unstable and spoiled to not realize that BW doesn't turn on the servers just for them. And to anyone flaming that , well RIFT failed and these guys failed and those guys failed because they didn't provide content or yadyadayada...guess what, Swtor it's already a huge success for many fans of the genre, irregardless of its obvious sustainability. I'm just blown away by posters who constantly gripe and moan about their problems with a GAME. Suck it up, and if you can't your too fragile for gaming and should most likely unsubscribe and find a new hobby.

  20. Huttball 5 - Great map but everytime i play it I feel like i'd doing Pve...lol Imperials Voidstar- 9- my favorite, love the LoS you can use there as ranged + knocking people of the bridge is win Alderaan - 7 - Great map, if it had more traps like the other two it would be better imo.
  21. I used to see ability delay in warzones, that was my only concern. After the patch there is still abit of server lagg in warzones but the delay is non-existent for MOST of the abilities on 4 different toons. The excpetion being Full-auto and Mortor volley on my Trooper. PvEI have never seen any lagg. My machine isn't great quad-core 2.5 with a Nvidia 9800 GT and only 4 gigs of RAM. I have to wonder if all those complaining about PvE ability lagg are A.) Trolling to troll B.) have machines that can barely run the game.
  22. Wow this patch has really helped pvp for the republic! I like most have a mid level toon which has struggled facing the 10 lvl 50 imps team! Thank god the lower brackets are much more even know, and it seems without the obvious level advantages that most Empire players are VERY easy to own. Who cares about the tons of 50's who are whining less than a month after release about their 50pvp being balanced. They still are, regardless of what they say, the minority. Thanks again BW!

  24. Shameless Bump. The warzones are tons of fun for sure, but as noted the ability lagg is really noticable. I'm starting to believe the Warzone servers are borked but what do i know.
  25. Yea Q's are nice, owning the imps is better. Glad to see so many heads on Republic that are healing/supporting teamates. I wish we had server forums. Go Po5!
