  1. I agree, the pool of B Rated PVPrs is dwindling rapidly. The A list guillds are scooping them up and bringing them into the fray. Meanwhile the F2Prs and Carebears are queing for their Daily comms. While those of us who are solid, albeit not specatacular are left to que solo or in groups of 1-2 others. Ultimately put on Terribad PUGs ripe for the farming. It sux, but it is what it is. Im not going to leave Pax in search of greener pastures, honestly community and family feel is too imprtant to me, and the Pax Pasture is as green as it gets. I would love to see The Middle class of PVP grow, but somehow we are a dying breed.
  2. Sorry for the late response. Long weekend. Anyway. Pax is primarily and East Coast Guild. We do have a large West Coast community, but there is usually only about 10-15 on after 2100est. Much later on Friday and Saturday nights of course. @0800-1200 you will be hard pressed to find more than handful on. Not many Paxians paly during the moring and noon hour. Starting around 1500est is considered PrimeTime. This goes till about 2100 and much later on weekends. Those of us who PVP play a little later from about 2100 to Midnight(0000) Pax isnt the best at any one thing. So if you looking for a leet PVP comminty or top lvl Raiding guild this is not us. We have something for everyone. We do Raid, quite well actually. We do PVP (a core group of us). But.. We are a community first, across many games, titles and genres. Thats the lure of Pax. I hope this helps, give us shot. At the least you will decide its not for you and move on. At best you will become part of our Gaming family and enrich your experience.
  3. Updated with those who posted. We can still do this provided it fills. Regardless, premades will roll out. expect it. Im putting this togeather for the community, not for the comms, and not the rating. If your in this to meet new people and foster positive community interaction then this thread is for you. If you are in it for the Comms and the rating, It may be in your best interst to apply to a PVP guild.
  4. First I would like to thank TeamOne, especially Nads for organizing and putting on a tremendous event. I would also like to thank HEX for so generously opening their TeamSpeak to the community. Many of you took away much different learning experiences, and I encourage you to share them here. However, this is what I got: I was glad to have had the opportunity to speak with you all regarding the viability of Ranked on our server. I have a host of ideas, but they are unfortunately misguided. I think it was Diz that talked about synergy. This small comment answered many questions for me. PUG night will almost certainly fail due to the lack of it. Its not that the talent pool is non existent, it’s just that a team with Synergy will almost always roll a team of similar skill with out it. This can only be developed through hours and hours on TS and in game play as a team. There is also a definite gap between the skill sets of those in attendance, and the vast majority of our server. It has nothing to do with gear. Those who participated most certainly represent the top tier of PVP on the Ebon Hawk. I however am a long way off from being counted among you. For me it’s a combination of factors. Im a 30yr old stoner who spends all my in game time Ihibreated, long story, but hence the legacy name. As a result my reaction times are not as quick. This isn’t an excuse; it’s just how I enjoy spending my in game time. If that means not being in the leet among leet so be it. This is also my first MMO or PC game and I simply do not posses the skill lvl to compete in Ranked as of now. This doesn’t mean I won’t always try to improve, take advice where I can get it, and stay involved on these forums. I will forever be the community minded guy who will help organize events and promote community involvement. I will play the neutral party and attempt to diffuse as much negativity as possible. I will group with Recruit geared Paxians and PUGs for the sake of meeting new people and playing with friends. If all my WZs are losses so be it. This is not a QQ thread, more of an honest realization. What I learned form participating in the tournament. Of course I will continue to PVP and improve over time. I at least hope to provide what competition I can, and look forward to having some of you in the PUGs on occasion. See you all at the next tournament. Mort.
  5. I suppose no one is going to take someone by the hand. But the information in this thread should help those who are intelligent enough to read it, and understand. Yes its off the rails, but I believe it to be in a positive direction.
  6. We were Sorcs before bubbles, Before Unnatural preservation. Back when a Sorc was almost a free kill. We learned to be elusive and frustrating for DPS to a point of being accused of trolling. I have played a sorc since beta and have more fun than with anyother class. Its a personal choice thing. But alas came the bubble. Not sure I would call it a crutch. Maybe for some terribads that have 0 clue. Its more of an exploit right now. Even tho its designed to be the way it is. Regardless, EVERYTHING gets the nerf bat in time. Good Sorcs will just move on, and play with new specs, rotations etc. Those people QQing about never playing their Sorc after it gets nerfed, are the For the moment crowd, and will forever be a pain in the ***. Happy with being a mediocre player. Howver this is not me. And not what this thread was designed to do.
  7. TY for the Feedback. I appreciate your comments, and you taking the time to look it over.
  8. So all you DPS guys are always going on about Pocket heals. How cool is it to be immortal in a WZ right. But what about us Healers? Where is our Pocket Peeler? Someone who will drop their bloodlust for second and help get the 2 DPS dudes attempting to violate me with their light sabers and Pistols barrels. Really I think we are in need of a "Healer Awareness Week"
  9. So I wrote up a Sorc Heals guide for my guild mates. Im by no means the best Sorc Heals on the server, but the most seasoned PVPr,aside from Arash, that Pax has. I was wondering if some of the other Sorc Heals could read it over and offer suggestions. Anything I may have missed or completely gotten wrong. WARNING: Its a TLDR Thread http://www.paxgaming.com/index.php?topic=17216.0
  10. Mortalya: Sage Heals Empire: 2100Est Gear: Full Min/Max WH (5 Peices of Elite)
  11. Preconditions: 1.You must have a full set of WH gear to participate. This takes a week of casual play, and under 2 weeks for complete Min/Max.. So there is no excuse for showing up in recruit, or galaxy forbid, PVE Gear. If thats turns out to be the case, your spot will be given to the next alternate. 2. Please refrain from Trolling, Griefing, or otherwise inflamatory behaviour. There should be 2 alternates for each team. In the case where an individual is clearly not ready for Ranked, the team may vote to kick and take the alternate player. 3. Any other thoughts about rules regulations etc, Leave them in the comments below. Sign Up Format: Name: Faction: Time: Gear:
  12. This Thread is for the purpose of organizing teams. I have seperated the teams into Empire and Republic. 3 teams of each. The teams are divided into Start times so that there is a beginging point for sign ups. Lets limit each team to no more than 4 people of the same guild. It is my hope that this will foster community interaction. Each week I will reset the names and teams and begin again. Please reply with your name, faction, and desired start time Pax will open 2 of our Teamspeak Channels for this. I have not selected a day yet, as I am waiting for community feedback. Whatever is in the best intreset of turnout. Date: EMPIRE 1700 Est 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Alt: 1. 2. 1900 Est 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Alt: 1. 2. 2100 Est 1. Silentstorm (Op Heals) 2. 13. Yes, we held an internal 1v1 in front of the Hutt statue a month or so back. Made for some cool screen shotz. Nice location
  14. Yes,, this^^^ Perhaps I misread your post or misinterpreted it. My bad.
  15. Ok so perhaps my last post came off a little D-baggish. Let me rephrase. There are tons of Class and WZ guides that are extremely well written and very informative. Starting there would be your best bet. This thread is more like step 5 in the process of becoming a top teir PVPr ready for Ranked WZs. Once you have a firm grasp of that stuff and have min/max your gear out. This will be a place to ask direct questions of people you see doing exceptionally well. Attempt to learn some of the finer tips and trick. etc.
  16. Are you implying that I am preforming verbal phelatio here. ??
  17. I had envisioned this program to be designed for individuals who already grasped 99% of this stuff, and need that extra little bit of perfection to push them to the next level. Asking individuals to take time out of there game or RL time to answer questions that could be taken from research and running WZs is kinda douchy. I agree that tactics are just as, if not more important. I just didnt want to give people the idea that you can come into this thread and have these dude PVP for you.
  18. Shouts to Animosìty, and Animosity. These dudes facerolled the other team and even grabbed both pylons. Last Night I was getting groupled with Terribad Pugs all night. Focus fired like its nobodys biz. Seriously Healer enemy 1.. Then Last WZ of the night I get a full Premade with these two beasts. All I did was grab orbs and run back and forth. It was a great way to finish the night off.
  19. So bummed my internet at work blocks streaming video. wil be looking forward to seeing these when I get home.
  20. +1 Nads. This has been a very well organized and marketed tournament. I suspect the turnout will be tremendous.
  21. People leave for a variety of reasons. I personally dont leave unless members of my group DC or dont get the pop, but thats just before the match starts. Once underway I will stay 99.9% of the time, unless someone is being a down right Douche and Trolling me. (not often tho) Most often I see people leave because of how badly they get rolled in the first encounter. They realize the Premade on the other side is geared and on voice comms and they punch out. I also have seen specific guilds and or players boycott eachother and leave the WZ. At any rate, short of DC or Douchebaggery Im generally down to stick out even the most epic faceroll typing in /say, well that hurt.
  22. LOL. Yes. i have some of them bound but not ALL. My circle straffing is getting a lot better, and unless I up against a Team that focus fires the crap outta me, I am ususally able to stay under 5 deaths.. But yes thats def an area that I could improve on. My wife actually just got me that SWTOR Naga for X-mas. Being my Fist PC game/MMO it has been and adjustment. So. at least I may have provided some comic relief right
