  1. Hey mate, i hope it does evolve into a serius conversation. There is not one single answer on why people feel entintled to everything the game has to offer, i think for most ppl it is the fact that they pay for it and for another big part of the ppl its the fact that they grew up thinking they are entitles to stuff they somehow think they own. The reality of the situation is the purpose of the game is the game and not getting the reward of it, so you dont pay to get items in game but for access in it, no matter whats in it. This beeing an mmorpg the bar is set higher for a lot of things, the developers say they want the rewards system to be fair, or more like they use doublespeak to hint that they design stuff with that in mind so you cant call them on it when unfairness enters the game. So in one hand you have people that think they are entitles to ingame rewards by not playing the game and on the other hand the developers come across as ppl that scheme behind your back to cheat on you every chance they get (think legacy, think set bonus on pre-campaign item etc etc) I wont personally roll an imperial to get HK-51 unless he is an optimal need for my republic characters in that case i will be furius that they force a mini-reroll on me but i will bite the bullet or accept that i will be suboptimal. Another sub-topic on the entitlement of ppl is some narcissistic behavior, sadly the internet by providing anonymity brings out the worst in ppl, they tend to do whatever they wouldnt ever do in real life without any regard to the fact that ppl in games are real ppl also. So their narcisim leads to them thinking that some1 who has access to something they dont is either cheating them since they are better than the afformantioned persona or there is simply an issue with the game rules and needs to be adressed right now by the devs.
  2. this is like world of roguecraft, they will change the travel time of mounts and ppl will whine how its a nerf to operatives. All classes get nerfed and buffed (yes it may not be today it may not be in 18 months but eventually there will be a buff to operatives), a game is never 100% balanced, learn to live with it or change genre.
  3. i am not really good with economics also, but what i understand is the price of something is what ppl would pay for it. So instead of figuring out how much it costs you to send the companions to gather the materials, instead try to figure out how much the materials sell for. example: it doesnt matter if you can get 1 desh for 18 credits, what matters is ppl will pay 49 credits to buy one. so when you create an item that is made by 10 desh, you shouldnt charge less than 490 credits, if you do you should instead sell the desh directly.
  4. Vanguards dont share the melee weaknesses, they have a different set of those, you cant kite them. And proper burst and focus defeats healing 8 out of 10 times, though cc and focus fire is the way to go, especially working with flashbang combos and decimating them one by one should do the trick thats the ballpark of normal setups though so it should be hard if you play correctly and as always on their weaknesses and away from yours.
  5. Imho the resolve system should be broken down in to categories that are completely seperate, Physics and crowd control, thus routs should be in the same category as physics (pulls or knockbacks)

  7. not 1 reason, 400000 reasons. Some ppl checked the game and it didnt fit, some ppl went to the next game, be it fifa 2087 or another mmo or d3. Some left because their server never reached a critical mass of players and they didnt wanna reroll. The thing is bioware created their servers to small and any random event could kill a server, they are trying to rectify this, and in the long term they are gonna increase their server capacity, its all about patience now.

  9. There is a very big chance what they mean is the paid character transfers service and some other services of the kind (cosmetic revamp of your character etc etc) However there is a chance a full fledged in-game shop will happen, i hope this isnt the case though.
  10. if you play one of the force sensitive classes pick, slicing+archeology+synthweave if you play one of the other two classes, pick armormech+scavenging+slicing. You use slicing for cash, augment materials and selling missions you cant run. You use scavenging/archeology to gather materials to level up armormech/synth but you keep all the items crafted till 1.3. If you are/reach level 50 and dont have better than rakata bracers/wrists buy the materials required and craft them, dont sweat yourself on getting an augment slot for them. If you are done with leveling up the crew skills keep gathering grade 6 materials and try to learn and research augment schematics. When 1.3 hits, Reverse engineer all low level items you have crafted, sell the augment kits and craft augments for low level items and sell them, use the credits you have to gather grade 6 materials and buy orange belt/bracer schematics, craft and sell anything you can based on what offers the best margin in the GTN.
  11. we need 16 slots per server! 1 per advanced class per faction, if they add extra classes or advanced classes a corresponding amount should be added.
  12. keep it, keep running missions, make credits and sell the missions, hoard them for 1.3 and then buy everything you need. In case one of your characters (or both) is a non-foce class pick either armormech or armstech +scavenging and level it up so you can make augments.
  13. i cant for the life of me figure out why they tied this crew skill with synthweave, they should have just let it be treasure hunting and be done with it. then it would be: biochem=>diplo Armstech=>invest Cybertech+armormech=>UT Synthweave+artifice=>Treasure instead we have biochem=>diplo Armstech=>invest Cybertech+armormech+Synthweave=>UT Artifice=>Treasure Hell if it was up to me it would look like this: biochem+Armstech=> Research (renamed investigation) Cybertech+armormech=> Underworld Trading Synthweave+artifice=> Treasure Diplomacy=>gifts+random items of any type and rarity Or Random mission materials+ Datapads that provide ls/ds points to the user and work like gifts but for your character. Lets hope with the level cap the crew skills system will receive some serius love, rethinking and redisigning
  14. Stealth generators and personal shield generators, are closed to personal blasters and plasma grenades but railguns are within 2-3 years for battleships etc. we just need the force now. for the OP, as it looks now gunslinger/sniper is your best bet since the deck is stack in their favor.

The UI has a long way to go: -A combat log that a human can understand -An in game combat parser(including threat meter), YES its a user interface enhancement thats required for top game performance (sorry if its to pve-oriented for this post) -Operation frames enhancements to assist with dispelling, making combat easier to understand and a generic clean-up of the buff/debuff icons. -Stealth bar/stance bars (they said in the guild summit that they dont want to add them since ppl dont use the cover bar) However macros, dont really enhance the game and i totally agree with the devs, that mouse-over heals etc arent really macors. Addons over the years have flactuated from needed UI enhancement to clear exploits, i remember in the past that we were joking about how wow is 60% who has the best interface and 30% about gear and 10% about class. So more or less i agree with you on the fact that UI needs to be improved, but macros and addons isnt the way to go.
  17. First off all, you cant be kicked out of a warzone, even if 7 ppl vote-kick you and you do any activity like damage healing etc, you stay in. Second i doupt there is only 1 guild on fatman, maybe you should try searching a bit more. Third, how is the inability of the community to include you or your inability to be included in the community in any way an error of bioware?
  18. You cant just enforce rules on ppl, if there was an option to move to 2-3 different servers sure, but as it stands it would suck.

  20. The idea is simple, can we have only 1 server? if no then is there any meaningful reason to have server specific warzones? (eg wins provide some sort of planetary control points or anything towards a generic open world pvp bonus) if no to both questions then go to cross realm.
  21. lol, i actually thought they had less than this and the cooldowns mean practicly something is used/running 100% of the in-combat time of a warzone
  22. i am frustrated by jumps too and not just jumps, there are group datacrons, farm wierd item datacrons wait 40m on a platform datacrons etc... it isnt really an issue since its bonus content and the reward is practicly nothing except maybe the fleet datacron. But, for the matrix cube, they made a big mistake, all those should have been solo-able and preferably piss easy. So i assume what i am saying is, its bonus content, dont sweat it, lets just hope they will swap around the matrix shards so we dont need to drive ourselves crazy over them. Or better yet, make them once-per-legacy unlocks.

This is overall a pretty good post about how the changes will affect pvp in the short term, They should instead rebalance tank stats imho or better yet have only one damage type, one damage of static mitigation, chance based avoidance and chance based mitigation, that would take a ton of work to be done but meh, one can hope.
  24. I'd prefer if the game just had about 30ish servers, less if possible, if they cant make that work, then sure cross realm.
  25. That. Or make all offhands fully moddable, with different mod instead like barels, hilt for vibroknives, shieldings etc etc
