  1. I hear WoW had TONS to do at end game a week and a half after it came out! Oh wait... no it didn't. I hear WoW has TONS to do at end game now! Oh wait... it doesn't. Seriously if your friends are level 50 already, tell them to get a life and/or play the game the way it's meant to be played. I've got over 2 days played time on my character and I am level 24.
  2. Jesus, the game has been out for a little over a week. The fact that there has already been a patch addressing some issues is a good sign. People will complain about anything. Congratulations on speeding through the game. Seriously, the developers won't look at end game stuff for another couple of months because they are focusing on content that the majority of people are experiencing.
  3. I'm glad I'm not in your guild. You rushed to 50, rushed through normal mode content, and skip dialogue and cut scenes. Sounds like you're playing the wrong game.
  4. I'm running a GTX 570 and I've had absolutely no graphical problems, runs at 60fps. Well, I take that back.. the trees flicker strangely in cut scenes but I'm pretty sure that's something to do with the game and not my hardware.
  5. I usually play a female in games where there is a third person perspective. I like to play casters or a stealthy type character, and usually the male models are muscle-bound meatheads that do not fit the character type at all. For example: the human male models in WoW are atrocious for Mages and Rogues, etc. Whereas females are lithe and agile looking. That's my opinion anyways. The body options in this game take care of the problem though, so my first character is a male. To each their own.
  6. I sincerely hope that they never implement the ability to change your Advanced Class. As others have said - this IS your class. The Jedi Consular, Sith Inquisitor, etc. just serve a base function. For what it's worth, I also hope that they never implement Dual Spec. Choices should serve a purpose in this game, as they once did in WoW. I shouldn't be able to do damage to max potential and heal to max potential just by pressing a button.
  7. I like this game and all.... but those reviews literally mean nothing. A game has to be exceptionally terrible to garner anything lower than a 75 from most of those sites.
  8. I've said it before and I'll say it again: so many people posting here on the forums have NO idea how an MMO works, or even the video game industry for that matter. People cancelling their subscriptions after less than a week after release is absolutely absurd. If people did that for WoW, and trust me WoW had it's fair share of problems at launch, where would the almighty king of MMO's be today? WoW has brought up a generation of instant gratification babies that want everything to be about them. The biggest contributor to the success of an MMO is the patience of it's players. Unfortunately, it's a rare commodity these days.
  9. It actually does say the suggested level for the quest. If you go in your journal and click on the quest, it says "Lv. X" right next to "Tasks".
  10. I have the feeling that a lot of people complaining on this forum either have never participated in an MMO launch before, or they put on their rose-colored glasses and forget what it was like. I have been a part of numerous MMO launches in the past: WoW, LotRO, Warhammer, Aion. I can honestly say that this is the best one of them all. I know some people have had technical problems, but I have literally had zero. Either I'm extremely lucky, or those other people are doing something wrong. Either way, this has been the most successful MMO launch I've witnessed. People like to forget how WoW launched. I remember waiting days to play and re-rolling on several servers because they constantly went down. I remember the loot bug and many others. Also, an MMO does not come out of the box finished and completely polished. It is a constant work in progress, unlike single player games. I read about people complaining about instancing and the world feeling empty. Bioware themselves have stated that instancing would be removed once things got stabilized. People complain about the graphics not working as intended. Yes, this should have been fixed before release but it WILL BE fixed. Bioware is not stupid, and EA wants their money. The problems people have will be dealt with. Anyone throwing a nerd fit and threatening to cancel their subscription 5 days after an MMO launch is being an impatient baby. Plain and simple. I went to college for video game production for a long time, before finally changing my major. I learned a lot of things. I would like to see the people complaining make their own MMO, and release it without any bugs or flaws. Then they would have a right to cry. As for me, I'm enjoying the game despite the small flaws and annoyances I've run into. And I know I'm not the only one.
  11. I agree there needs to be Neutral gear. I don't understand why there isn't, considering a lot of people like to play a morally gray character. At least this would be a pretty easy fix, I just hope they decide to do it.
  12. Quests are color coded in your journal, including quests for Flashpoints. People should be able to tell the difficulty of a quest this way even if they've never played an MMO before. Not to mention quests also say "Heroic +4" or the like. It's not rocket science. Neither is crafting. There's a journal entry for each crafting skill that tells you what it does, and also what other two skills go well with it. You click the skill, send your companion(s), and it's done. It's also not difficult.
  13. Oh man, how true this is. It's not possible that people started "flocking" to other MMO's because they weren't satisfied with WoW! That's just absurd. It's obviously the fact that they were bad at WoW. I mean, WoW takes SO much skill, you have to press buttons and stuff. It's quite complicated.
  14. There's always Skype, which is free. There's Ventrilo. Hell, even AIM and Yahoo Messenger. I don't see the problem here.
  15. People complaining that the game has too much story, and people complaining that the game doesn't have enough story. The internet makes my brain hurt
  16. Honestly these small problems are things that can and probably will be fixed with time. I'm sure Bioware was more concerned with bigger things, and also pressured to get the game out I'm sure. I'm not aiming this at you, but at complaints in general.... the game literally came out two days ago. Give it some time. If you played WoW (yes I said it) at launch, it was riddled with problems. And not all of them small. Playing an MMO at launch requires more patience and understanding than playing other video games.
  17. The last five quests that I did tonight were with random people that got together in general chat and decided to just keep doing quests together. Now... I may be crazy... but I've never done that in a single player game before.
  18. People complaining about $15 a month is hilarious. I make that in an hour and a half at my crappy food service job. $15 is nothing. You can hardly get a decent meal for $15 at most places. I just don't get it. Also, you shouldn't be playing video games if you only play them because you feel like you "have to." They're a hobby, something you do for fun.
  19. This right here invalidates their opinion in my eyes. They knew the game was heavily story driven and had a lot of cut scenes and dialogue..... and they chose to play it anyways. They lose the right to complain about it, they knew the game was more than likely not their cup of tea. I'm having a ton of fun with the game, and honestly the dialogue and cut scenes and story are what makes it most interesting. Also, when it comes to reviews the minority is always the loudest. They didn't like the game and therefore no one else should like it, and they'll do whatever they can to turn people away. Just have fun and don't pay attention to these kind of people.
