  1. Has anyone tested the trees to see which spec gives better dps on the test dummies and the new combat log info?
  2. I am very curious, in your video at approximately 58 seconds your companion appears to be Kira. However she is wielding a single light saber and it is yellow. My Kira only seems to wield a double bladed lightsaber and has always been green. How did you get her to wield a single bladed blade?
  3. sorry McVade You posted yours while I was typing mine. Your post was pretty decent I was in fact referring to the posts just above yours. I didn't see your post until after I posted.
  4. Guy you are missing his point. He is stating that he doesn't think the MS ability is doing enough damage and was wondering if it was normal or a bug. He is not complaining that it isn't bursty enough. We are to quick to assume that someone is complaining or trolling when they are in fact just looking for a response from the community that is both fair and intelligent. Lets try being more helpful and less criticizing. As for the OP. Firesprit_ea,I am not level 50 yet but I will check my tool tip for the MS ability and let you know what the actual damage is on a mob.
  5. I have never had a problem with my Sentinel not making jumps but I know with a body type 3 there are a few places that I cannot readily get to that some of the smaller body types can. For example the Data Chron on Alderan at the Castle.
  6. I honestly cannot believe that this tread is still alive. I remember reading it when it was first created and then through each page until about page 4, then I stopped reading it. People need to realize that you cannot go in and just DPS down the class quest boss fights. For our class, Sentinel, it is more about surviving them. Case in point: I am using my Master Strike ability but the boss is starting to cast his big ability so I had better interrupt my attack to interrupt his attack or I will die. Most of these fights are like this, you HAVE to use your interrupts. You HAVE to watch the cast bars. You CANNOT just stare blankly at your screen and push some buttons, you actually HAVE to react. I specked into Watchman a while back and have found the Close Quarters and the Watchguard Talents to be invaluable. For this fight do not leap in try to position yourself so that your back is against a wall use your Force Leap when he knocks you back, use your Force Kick on the OMG his lightning is going to kill me ability. Use Force Stasis to help interrupt, and oh ya use Crippling Throw Those abilities along with Rebuke, Saber Ward, Call on the Force, Zen, Stims, and a Med Kit are key defensive skills used in taking down 90% of boss fights This ends my rant on this topic. Maybe the information will help maybe it wont. There is nothing game breaking there and every bit of it has been covered already. Now for the love of GOD let this tread die. :::EDIt::: Oh, I forgot to mention that we are also extremely gear dependent so make sure your gear, and your companions gear, are up to snuff or all the skill and timing in the world wont do you any good.
  7. I'm not sure why you are so low level after finishing Hoth? I was 44 when I left Hoth and I do not pvp at all. I do all the quests and the bonus missions, a lot of the heroics I have never done, I have never ran a FP or an OP, and I have only done about 4 space missions. I haven't gone back to Alderan yet to do some of those level 40 quests but that is a place you may choose to revisit.
  8. Excellent response. I would guess that if they do play IMp/Sith more its due to the red light saber and the better looking armor choices. Also I think there animations are a little flashier.
  9. I wish people would realize that fights like the Valis fight are more about survival instead of dps. This means you will spend most of the time interrupting key attacks and using your defensive cool-downs. As well as utilizing your med kits and stems.
  10. No matter what they say it is a nerf. Anytime you take a 30% flat damage increase from a skill, and make it so that it only increase the Critical Hit damage by 30% it is a decrease. Unless you can get a Critical Hit 100% of the time, in which case it wouldn't change anything. So they gave a 9% increase on our burn/bleed effects and took away the 30% flat damage increase. I am no math whiz here but i think that still comes up to -21% damage. On our burn/bleed effects. Yes I am aware that the 30% flat damage increase was a bug and we technically should not have been getting it anyway, but come on. People list bugs and problems with the class and they are basically ignored. However, the 1st time a bug gets listed that gives us something that it shouldn't it is fixed in 15 days. Something seems wrong with this picture.
  11. I had a friend with a smaller body type go through the crack and then I dueled him and forced leaped through. I also did this on Tatooine as I had just missed the Balloon, and on the Alderon for the one with the broken lift. I love force leap lol
  12. The bug is not what you think it is. If they fix it they will actually nerf us. The bug is giving 30% increased damage flat not just a 30% increase to the Crit damage. You can check my source here http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=190194&page=7 close to the bottom.
  13. Thanks for the info and yes I am referring to male body type 3. I tried jumping at it from different angles and such with no luck.
  14. I was at Castle Panteer and tried to get the willpower +3 data chron but was unable to get my character through the door. I have body type 3 and had read before that some people were having problems getting this. I'm guessing they have not fixed this yet?
  15. I would think that in a war zone you would do more damage specced into Focus as that is the pvp tree. Sure Watchman and Combat have some nice things as well but Focus is the main tree for pvp.
  16. There is a thread here that can help with that. I tired figuring out a rotation for it and posted it, but it gets very complicated.
  17. From what I have read Combat is a better build after you can pick up the Blade Rush skill. I played Combat until level 18 I think, and then I switched to Watchman. I wasn't having any problems killing things as Combat but everyone was saying how great the Watchman tree was so I tired it out. I do think Watchman is a good tree but holy crap you constantly have to apply Overload Saber. I wish it were a persistent buff instead. I am thinking about trying the Combat Tree out again in the near future. Try this link out. The guys name is Faroh and he has posted a few videos on the Sentinel class all of his earlier stuff was in the Combat tree but this linik he tells you about the Watchman tree and why he chose it over Combat.
  18. So I am a little confused? What skill are you referring to? I can only find one skill, Crippling Throw, that we can toss our light saber on. This Dispatch skill, when do you get it. Also I keep reading in TorHead how we get a 2nd jump called Zealous Leap that is separate from Force Leap but I can not find it on the skill trainer anywhere? :::EDIT::: Never mind I found the Dispatch skill you pick it up in the Knight skill list at level 46. :::EDIT::: It also looks like the skill Zealous Leap is in the Focus tree and is available at level 20.
  19. EasymodeX I agree that you do lose out on some higher dps abilities by trying to extend Overload Saber during Zen, I'm not even certain that Zen will be used over Transcendence in a Flash Point or an Operation. They main problem with trying to fit them in is a focus generation and cool downs. It may not be as beneficial to do it as everyone thinks. Not to mention the rotations I have listed are extremely complicated. I did however enjoy doing a little bit of theory crafting while exploring the idea and I do hope that we start seeing more post like this and fewer post about what everyone thinks is wrong with us. I do wish we had a target dummy and some combat logs grrrrr.
  20. For Merciless Slash it could look something like this: Starting with a full focus bar of 12. 1. Overload Saber + Strike = 11 focus 2. Bladestorm = 7 focus 3. Merciless Strike = 2 focus 4. Force Sweep = 1 focus 5. Zealous Strike = 7 focus 6. Bladestorm = 3 focus 7. Zen + MasterStrike = 3 focus 8. Force Stasis (to build back some focus) = 6 focus 9. Overload Saber + Strike = 5 focus 10. Bladestorm = 1 focus 11. Strike = 3 focus 12. Force Sweep (talented has a 12 second cool down) = 2 focus 13. Zealous Strike (to build back some focus) = 8 focus 14. Merciless Slash = 3 focus 15. Strike = 5 focus 16. Slash = 3 focus 17. Overload Saber = 0 focus 18. Strike = 2 focus 19. Cauterize = 0 focus 20. Strike = 2 focus This is extremely complicated but should let you get in 3 Overload Saber rotations, even though only 2 of them will be in the Zen buff. It also utilizes 2 Merciless Strike rotations and a Cauterize at the end. This is all given a 1.5 second GCD, and I put how much focus you would have left at the end of each move. This could possibly be better if a person were to factor in a talented 0 yard Force Leap for another focus builder. What are your thoughts?
  21. Merciless Slash actually has a better chance to reset the cool down of Cauterize Mind Sear: Slash has a 33% chance and Merciless Slash has a 66% chance to finish the cool down of Cauterize. This effect cannot occur more than once ever 6 seconds.
  22. I don't think any one drops Slash for Merciless Slash as Merciless Slash has a 12 second cool down. Even with the 3 stacks of Merciless reducing the cool down by 4.5 seconds it is still a 7.5 second cool down. Also I would imagine that you would only get to a 7.5 second cool down on a boss fight.
  23. So I found a post that said the base GCD is 1.5 seconds. this means we could do the following rotation: Starting with a full focus bar 1. Cauterize 2. Overload Saber + Slash 3. Bladestorm 4. Strike 5. Force Sweep 6. Strike 7. Zen + MasterStrike 8. Force Stasis (to build back some focus) 9. Overload Saber + Strike 10. Bladestorm 11. Strike 12. Force Sweep (talented has a 12 second cool down) 13. Strike 14. Zealous Strike (to build back some focus) :::Edit::: If my math is right then at this point it should now be back at 10 focus. Here you start running into cool down issues. Well you get the idea. Its very complicated but if you can do it will just keep building focus and pulling off the moves while keeping the buff up for 6 stacks. This of course would be a static target with very little moving, and I didn't add in any force Leaps at 0 range for focus building as not everyone will spec into that. As I said earlier I am only level 27 right now so it also does not include Merciless Slash. I have also left out Crippling Throw, Force Kick, and Cyclone Slash Thoughts? :::Edit::: Forgot that the Tier one talent Quick Recovery reduces the focus cost of Force Sweep by 2 and reduces the cool down by 4 seconds.
  24. This is a fantastic post. I used to read through all of the Elitist Jerks forums for, errrr umm, a different game, and this is the type of information we need here. I want to chime in on this but I can't remember if the GCD is .5 sec or 1 sec. Can some one help me out with this? I am working on a good rotation starting with a full focus bar and a 2 cycle Overload Saber rotation. Which I will post when I get the GCD answer. Keep in mind though that I am only level 27 and do not have Merciless Slash. :::Edit::: If Overload Saber has a 15 second duration and only a 12 second cool down then why can we only get a 2 cycle rotation?
