  1. Amazing seeing what a highly skilled player can do. I'm interested in playing a shadow in PvP but I am not to your level at all (though I'd like to be!) What would be a good spec to start with?
  2. Is Zurko the best in-game contact? I'd be looking at the crystals, if you still have them.
  3. Great thread. One could make the case that any guardian with sufficiently robust focus generation/management is "tanky" from a PvP perspective. I'm contemplating something like this, running Shien or Soresu: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/guardian#17d6ek-21di28e2f-0 Or maybe this: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/guardian#217d6ek-211i28e2f-0 " 11.19.2012 , 01:44 PM | #23 REPORT POST QUOTE thanks for the reply and thread discussion link. So recently I have stepped away from focus smash spec to try this spec out. I have to give a shout out to Divine for his help on this spec. Very versatile. I'm exchanging the 5.8k-6.8k smashes for a 5.8k-6.8k dispatch that too always crits. I'm eager to hear the critiques. As well as replies from anyone who has tried it out. I like it since its a good change of space spec when I feel the opposition is expecting smash spec." Interesting - I hadn't noticed the Dispatch buffs in focus before! I like the additional leap too. You really, really need a point in Effluence. You have 2 points locked in Swelling Winds anyhow.
  4. Obi-Wan's armor from the Clone Wars cartoons! I would pay large amounts of real-world money for it. http://images2.fanpop.com/images/photos/2900000/Clone-Wars-obi-wan-kenobi-2951795-1280-1024.jpg http://images5.fanpop.com/image/photos/25300000/Obi-wan-clone-wars-obi-wan-kenobi-25345302-1280-960.png More black armor. Luke spent all of episode 6 in black, after all. Armor without t-shirt style upper sleeves. Imperial knight armor - maybe in white over black (that'd really be awesome!) http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Imperial_Knight This, with no cape or hood: http://tor.zamimg.com/torhead/uploads/screenshots/11544.jpg For good measure, this! http://www.swtor.com/holonet/classes/jedi-knight (I'd pass on the cape - you may be noticing a trend here). <edit - ah, in-game armors> The jedi guards on Ilum The Sith combat sports bra (in black): http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/gear/21721/warriors-pulsing-chestguard Vanguard Elite Upgrade armor http://tor-fashion.com/2012/05/19/vanguard-elite-upgrade/ Closer Quarters armor: http://tor-fashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/rd-05aclosequarterfront.jpg Hutt Cartel armor, in a different color scheme http://tor-fashion.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/huttcartelfront.jpg
  5. I haven't been able to find the loot system or conduct articles mentioned on the application page - am I missing a link?
  6. Um, yes. A spammable AOE snare is awesome in PvP.
  7. This for sure, though I've been impressed by the conduct of my fellow players on Ebon Hawk. Instead, how about instanced areas in world events? Instead of lining up for the robot race, we could jog down an alley and pass through a green curtain. You could even re-use the areas for different events later! ------ I'd really love to see more armor/clothing options. Dyes would be great (and I'd pay real world money for them). More custom armor would be great, and would likely sell well in the Cartel Coin shop as well. Luke Skywalker spent an entire movie dressed in black, my Jedi should also be able to! If people really want to hide their faction, they can use social armor already. ------- How about a custom title? (Okay, you got me. I just want my JK to be ...the Redeemer.) Thanks for posting this! Great thread.
  8. I'll look forward to that. Have you math-ed out the defense/absorb/shield scores that you recommend? (I think I may try this: http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/guardian#11cke8-21di22e8f-0 )
  9. This is an amazing guide! Thank you for sharing it with us. Do you mind if I reddit this?
  10. Context: Guardian Vigilance spec, with enough Defense to pick up Solidified Force. Most endgame context has been PvP (valor 50-ish). I love me some PvP and enjoy playing my toon. This is my first MMO and there are likely some LTP issues. http://swtor.askmrrobot.com/skills/guardian#e8-7kddi28e2f-2 That said . . . 1) Others think: DPS is not as good as a Sentinal in PvP or PvE. Good utility and good PvP mitigation with taunts (not everyone uses these well, sadly). Poor team player - benefits to the group are subtle and so most people miss them. 2) I think: DPS is indeed inferior to the Sentinal. The problem here is that we are also more fragile! Our defensive cooldowns are not even close to our dual-wielding brethren - in particular, Guarded by the Force is crazy good compared to what we pack. Heavy armor does not make up for this in PvP. Also, Plasma Brand has underwhelming upfront damage and can be cleansed. Overall, Vigilance is a fun spec but lacks a bit in the power department. Thanks for asking.
  11. This sounds interesting - I'm enjoying Vigilance, but don't mind a support role at all. What sort of build and strategies do you use?
  12. Sounds like you've made a good call. for the rest of the crowd, you can use this to find out current populations and trends: http://www.torstatus.net/ ...and this to see the faction mix (from Dulfy, of course!): http://dulfy.net/category/swtor/population/
  13. Fatman is the best, but my server (The Ebon Hawk) is bustling lately.
  14. -- Scoop up commendation chests in the Outlaw's Den. -- Manage lots of auctions (business is booming on The Ebon Hawk)

    armor question

Specifically, you can move War Hero armorings and the set bonus transfers. Putting them in augmented custom armor yields a strictly better result than the original!
  16. One source of confusion is the change in Master Strike / Ravage. Category 1 abilities (like Force Kick) worked on this before and don't post 1.2. People mis-interpret this to mean that MS cannot be stopped by any means. Knockback and many other category 2 abilities stop it just fine.
  17. Master Strike is great post 1.2, and the damage boost is one of the semi-hidden reasons that Vigilance is so much better these days. Here's some theorycrafting: http://mmo-mechanics.com/swtor/forums/Thread-Juggernaut-Guardian-DPS-Discussion To the OP - yes, you get the 2 focus regardless when Zen Strike procs.
  18. Cool beans - will be needing a lot of commendations! (Orange shells was too easy, but I can dream...)
  19. Have we established whether the vendor will accept: -- empty purple gear (original with mods pulled) or, -- empty orange gear ...when exchanging gear + ranked warzone commendations for war hero gear? Thanks in advance, apologies in advance if this is common knowledge.
  20. Where did you get the chest? That's very cool and I want one.
  21. That's awesome. I have the Commando Elite Chestguard and really like the overall look. What is that?
