  1. I have a bad feeling about this

Same here but I'm reserving judgement until I actually see what sort of games start coming out.

No one really knows how this is going to affect the Star Wars games franchise at this point but consumer trust and loyalty has to count for something rather than just the quality of the games themselves.

If EA manage to get this right they could start building that trust again which would be nice to see.

Time will tell if they bother to do that though or if they just treat this as another cash grab like SimCity with no regard for the consumer.

  2. I didn't say it was for sure coming in 2.1 only that it was possible.

    In this video...

...it's stated that the hood-toggle will be coming with the next Quality of Life update. Given that 2.1 is all about player customization and not all the features (of 2.1) have been announced yet, there's a chance that it'll be part of 2.1.

Good grief, those IGN commentators are awful..

  3. There is probably no level restriction except to be high enough to access those areas.

But seriously why pay 800 CC ( the price for a race change as a sub ) on a lvl 10 character when it really takes 2hrs to get to that level. Same goes for appearance except if some choices are not in character creation i don't see the use.

    This.

Really from level 1-20 I would just delete the character and start again if I didn't like the look of it... In fact, I've done this many many times already :o

  4. Hello everyone I am making my first video and it will be of this game. Do I need copyright permission? If so, then how do I get in touch with someone.

Where are you going to use the video? If it's for Youtube you will get a copyright flag for any music from this game that is in your video, however, it won't stop you from publishing it. You will just have to acknowledge that it contains copyright material and ads will appear on the video.

If you making a video to publish somewhere else.. that may be a bigger matter.

  5. Because they didn't use WoW as the template for their MMO.

I wish we could customize our Ships and had a selection of other ships to choose from, and they would add Apartments a least to our Capital worlds.

Actually Wildstar is being mad by ex WoW developers. That's why the art style is similar.

Looks amazing and I'm definitely going to give it a try since it's sci-fi fantasy!! :D

  6. That is all well and good.. F2P changed that and made it all irrelevant.. Sorry.. You also notice that at least in the first video, he was specific in NOT calling Makeb an expansion.. Apparently that changed.. Which most certainly within their right to do..

    Enjoy reality.. ;)

In reality if someone is kicking you do you just lie there and let them keep on kicking you? Perhaps, but I choose to fight back and try to stop them from kicking me.

  7. And see that fact is largely irrelevant.. F2P was a game changer.. If you can't understand that then, again, that is your problem..

Other than knowing that Makeb was being worked on.. I never heard them specifically say it would be free.. Me personally.. I always assumed that something as big as a new planet would always be an expansion.. Sorry you didn't share that obviously correct assumption..

Feel free to show where they ever said that Makeb would be free.. I know that it was debated here on the forums.. But you can't believe everything you read on the forums...

Let's assume they did say it... Again... F2P was a game changer.. If you are not smart enough to understand that then I can't help you.. I have no problem paying $10 for the expansion.. I don't feel my privileges as a subscriber have been violated.. I feel that for what it was.. It was worth the $10 dollars.. I am really enjoying the seeker droid and the macrobinoculars.. It is a nice change of pace to just dig stuff up.. I have got some nice stuff from that..

If you want to sit here and cry about it then do as you wish.. Bioware has done nothing wrong.. I am just sad that people doesn't seem to understand how F2P impacted this game.. Everyone screamed for it.. Well.. Now they have to live with the consequences of getting it.. What is the old saying?? Be careful what you wish for?? You may not like what you get?? Well.. F2P changed everything.. People need to deal with that.. :)

Here it is again for you then:

    Right here

Go to 5:05 where it's stated: "It's basically the biggest NON EXPANSION PACK piece of content"

    And here http://www.examiner.com/article/ea-and-bioware-go-back-on-promise-to-release-makeb-free-to-subscribers

  8. So where is the announcment of it been a content update?

Was it ever actually confirmed and then backtracked on?

If you have no answer to these 2 then you have no argument your just speculating and you dont with arguments that way you win them with actual facts

    Right here

Go to 5:05 where it's stated: "It's basically the biggest NON EXPANSION PACK piece of content"

    And here http://www.examiner.com/article/ea-and-bioware-go-back-on-promise-to-release-makeb-free-to-subscribers

I knew that inane post would follow what I said so I had it ready for you.

    Enjoy. :D

  9. Thats funny, I dont remember a single expansion (in any game genre) that is free. Content (thats your key word) update, yes. Expansions no. Now, go lurk under a bridge or something :p

Makeb was only made an expansion when F2P was announced. Before then it was always planned to be a free update. But seems people have short memories, or weren't in the game when it started.

  10. Wrong.. Expansions are different.. That is your error.. My statement is 100% correct.. There is a reason the word expansions is not there.. You adding it to suit your own needs and views is your own mistake not mine..

Did we pay for TFB when it was added?? What about Section X?? That is content.. Makeb was an expansion.. That is different.. You are just grasping at straws..

So your saying expansions aren't content.. which makes no sense. So who is grabbing straws now?:eek::p

  11. Makeb was an expansion.. Just like Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, and Mists of Pandaria..

All of which every single sub in WOW has to pay for to play.. Do you have an issue with subscribers paying for expansions?? I mean it isn't a new concept.. What is it about paying for expansions do you not understand??

Subs paid $10 for the SWTOR expansion.. I paid much more for the WOW expansions..

And if you are going to roll your eyes at someone.. At least have the common sense to make sure you are correct in your statement or views.. Because in this case.. It is pretty common for subscribers to be charged for expansions.. Like Makeb..:rolleyes:

Need to look at your own posts. I was just quoting what you said and said exactly this:

And yes, subscribers have free access to all content and all new content..

Subs don't have FREE access to ALL new content, such as expansions. Your statement is false :rolleyes:

  12. Some people dont care about endgame. Alot of people actually. They are happy just soloing there way through the stories. If you dont do endgame then you dont need the fancy gear so no luck is needed. I was hardcore for quite some time. Lately I just been leveling alts and not doing any of the endgame content. It would make no difference to me at this point in time.

I'd say I fall into this category and which is why I don't think a sub is for me. I don't do end game stuff since it seems repetitive but I like to level new characters with a couple of friends and see the storylines for them. That too can be repetitive in this game but at least there are some new elements like experiencing new class abilities and the story.

  13. whos badgering, im simply stating good luck with all those limitations that your going to have to spend either your ingame credits on or real currency, which you might aswell do cos you cant have more then 350k on prefered and none of the discounts or bonus's from being subbed.

I've decided to try the game on preferred status whilst paying $9.99 a month for 1050 coins and see how that goes.

If I find the limitations you describe as too frustrating then I will consider subscribing again, though that does feel like I'm just going to be paying to NOT be frustrated.. which seems odd for a game.

  14. well good luck then, you just enjoy paying more for repairs, having that credit cap, not having medical probes and having to buy fleet passes, longer cool downs and your ingame credits going no where near as far not to mention the 350k in game credit cap that doesnt refill when you empty it from any money you didnt spend before becoming prefered. I did notice you didnt mention title unlocks, unify colurs etc so im guessing you best buy them now too.

Not really sure why your still badgering me about this... as I stated you helped me decide and thanked you.

Those other things don't interest me (titles, colors and so forth) but thank you again for your contribution.

  15. hows about you pay 1 months sub and get a key, problem solved.

And if you feel like go for it and fill your boots, work out how much its gonna cost you to get all your unlocks that come with subscription and all the char slots your going to have to unlock, then your passes and dont have the discounts that come with the sub or the exp bonus and priority q'ing to get on the server when the servers if on heavy setting from subs.

If you can get around all this with in game credits then like i say go for it. Thats is of course if you can afford all that with the credit cap. And then feel the pleasure of when things come onto the cm that your gonna have to get your wallet out and buy more coins then you need to buy em.

I have already purchased most of these things. Extra character slots, Section X access and equipment authorization.

I don't do space missions or pvp but have done some Ops now and then. You may be right in that subbing is not something that is worth it for me at this point, which is what I was trying to understand. Thank you.

  16. By all means yes, go buy yourselves passes and authorizations everyweek at the modest prica of all a preferred player's credit cap :)

Which validates the point that getting free coins a month means nothing when you can unlock everything you need via in-game credits. So why subscribe?

  17. That still doesn't change anything.. Your post is somewhat pointless.. So you have to wait an extra month to get the Cathar.. Big deal.. It is still free.. If you honestly think it would be better to unsub and then purchase to coins from the store.. Be my guest.. Don't forget to buy all the extra coins to unlock everything that a subscriber gets and enough to have your 500cc slush fund to do what you want with.. You then let us all know who actually pays more..

Everything can be unlocked via the GTN. You don't have to spend a single coin to get to the same status as a subscriber.

I realize your trying to insult and downgrade people in your posts but that is beside the point.

The only real reason to subscribe to this game is to show your loyalty to the product. It's not because it's 'better' to do so.

  18. Your talking about purchasing everything on the cartel market now, and im a lifetime subber on tsw, they dont give you enough coins to buy everything on the market and you have to purchased new missions and as a lifetimer i only get a 20% discount compared to full f2p peeps so that doesnt even qualify as close. Also tsw have a cap on bonus coins you can have so after a while it stops building and you have to spend them.

There is no limit on swtor or how long you can be a subscriber and the minimum cap on coins with a key and sub is 600, the max is unknown because you can get 600 a month alone from 6 month subs, you get the 100 for the key and you also get them for raffing people.

So like i said you want everything now or you would never have muttered "You'd be talking YEARS of saving to even put a dent into the content available at the Cartel Market at 500 Coins per month."

On that note you dont even require the bulk of things on the cm as a subber, you dont need the unlocks, you dont need the passes, the coins are a nice bypass for legacy and piloting but you dont need them either as you can get those ingame via currency. We dont have to pay for hk nor section x and other content like that.

Why should I pay $14.99 for two months to get 1000 coints needed to unlock Cathar when I can just be F2P and pay $9.99 once to get more than that amount at 1050 right away?

  19. For example, if you are currently a subscriber who has a security key active on your account, you will be able to outright purchase Cathar with just one month’s worth of Cartel Coins.

    -eric

    1050CartelCoins = $9.99 USD

... or be a subscriber and wait one month before we give you only 600 coins (if you have a security key otherwise you will have to wait 2 months for 1000 coins) and get Cathar for $14.99 ($29.98 if you have no key) instead.

Your much better off not subscribing to the game but simply buying 1050 coins per month for $9.99. You get more coins to spend on packs which you can then just sell on the GTN to unlock all the stuff you would be getting as a subscriber.

  20. Unique to this game is the voice acting that come with the toons. I specifically chose to pay a female Trooper because it's Jennifer Hale.. why would you want to play the male version??

I think players who are 'relating' their characters to themselves, or real life, probably need to start playing less video games and start experiencing some real life socializing for a change. It seems to me they are projecting far too much of their real life emotions and values into these games if they can't understand why someone would chose to play as different sexes in them.

I mean, people roleplay as far weirder things in real life in their own bedrooms at night.

And now if you'll excuse me, I need to find where I left my Scooby Doo outfit before the missus gets home.

  21. I for one would like to express a gargantuan amount of thanks to bioware for fixing the oprative, (giggle and combat performance ). I am enjoying playing it soooo much more now

Yay for giggle! Even though the annoying tech sound is still there along with it.

  22. Yeah do it! Depending on how many many credits you have check the gtn.. the most scummiest and expensive unlocks on the cartel market, at least on my server, are available for a very reasonable amount of credits. Today's my last day of being a sub actually.. and i've got from gtn/bought cc enough unlocks that the only thing im really missing out on is quick travel and medprobes.

I have travel to ship and a security key for fleet passes... and refer a friend mounts and all my alts with speeder piloting 1..

I don't mind the idea of subbing to a game, but because i can, and because bioware have chosen removing punishments rather than extra goodies for sub benefits, i'll personally be most content living on preferred with everything imagineable unlocked :)

Course.. if the value we perceive changes, we can always resub!

Have to agree with this. There are no real incentives to remain subbed once you have the few unlocks you need off the GTN.

There needs to be some real benefit to being a subscriber, because the benefits we have at the moment are rapidly diminishing.
