The original talent skills were a carbon copy of WoW back when it had talent trees.
Now that WoW has reworked their system, SWtoR is simply following what they've done. It will just be the same as what WoW currently has, which is a simplified talent system.

There is no visual indicator but when you hand in a class mission you get an absurd amount of xp.
Lvl 20 class mission on my bounty hunter gave me 68500xp. So just do a class mission and see if you get heaps of xp.

Would like to see an addition of Inventory tabs, same as cargo bays have.
Give everyone the first tab unlocked then you can buy additional tabs as needed if you're filling up your inventory with cartel stuff.
-
I've stopped buying packs since you can't even vendor any of the items.
There are only so many pairs of belts, wristbands and boots I can carry around and simply destroying them is a waste.
I tried selling them for 1 credit even, no one bought them.

There needs to be more ways to earn points for PVE.
Any guild members who don't enjoy PVP probably aren't going to get their quota.
-
They were probably just shocked that someone actually said anything at all during a FP.
Usually it's dead silence, so they may have gotten anxious over having to interact.
-
I'm sure we would all like to see a wider variety of activities but it's not going to be implemented anytime soon given the amount of work that has already gone into the conquest system.
Another thing about allowing repeatable FPs is that it is an incentive to subscribe, since there is no lockout on the amount of times you can run them as a subscriber. Now that they are a one time thing, you can stay as preferred status.
-
You realize you can run FPs over and over all day long right now?
In fact, with a level 55 toon you could run Battle of Ilum story mode, skipping half the instance, and finish it in about 10-12 minutes. Completely solo.
Why aren't you doing it? The entrance is right on Ilum, at the bottom of the elevator. You don't need a group finder pop. You don't need to wait. There's no lockouts. You could have easily run it 80 times this past weekend.
I mean, this is what you're asking for, right? That's what was changed with the 2.9c patch.
Could it be that the reason you're NOT doing this is that it ISN'T FUN?
:eek::eek:
I'll reiterate my earlier point. What is needed is a greater variety of things to do. And ideally, new things to do. There's nothing wrong with doing PvE all day. But why do you want it to be the SAME THING over and over? Expand your horizons, neighbor.
I DO run the same FP over and over for fun and to farm some cash. The point of this thread is CONQUEST.
You get nothing in terms of conquest for running those FP over and over, you do if you run PVP over and over though.
Why is PVE not getting the same benefit?
-
I completely disagree.
New things to do is what is needed. A greater variety of different things to do is what is needed. Running the same thing 500 times in a row is ABSOLUTELY NOT what is needed.
I wish people would stop lobbying for this.
How is doing a FP over and over any different from doing pvp over and over?

I was under the impression you could still do Flashpoints as often as you want, only the reward was changed to daily for Conquests.
Is this not correct?
It's daily for the Tactical flashpoints but it's a one time thing now for the event flashpoint. Before, you could do the event flashpoint as a repeatable the same way that you can do pvp, but now you can only do it once for the entire duration of the conquest phase.
This needs to be changed back to how it was originally to give PVE players something to focus on.

This is the post that talked about it:

Thanks.
So they wanted to make sure it was a mix of activities.. by making it only worth doing PVP and nothing else.
Makes sense..
-
What exactly WAS the reason for changing Flashpoints back to dailies? Was there any kind of official reason?
Cause it just seems to have far too many negatives to it.
It can't be due to the amount of points some guilds were getting.. because that hasn't changed on my server, Harbinger.
-
I'm one of those who don't want to be there but feel forced to participate now in order to do conquest.
I really dislike PVP, something I have never enjoyed doing due to the general abusive nature of the community you find there as attested to by comments found in this very thread.
Why can you endlessly que for PVP and rack up ten of thousands of points for conquest in a day yet PVE players will struggle to get the quota after a week?
-
Happened to us today. The adds ate about a dozen orbital strikes and shields remained up. Strikes were endless and so we all eventually died.
This fight is not a good one for a Tactical Flashpoint. There is no way you can manage it without a healer when this happens.
-
I fell just 2k short of getting the reward, but I'm not complaining.
I helped contribute to the guild (we came in 5th overall) and I know the content is not aimed at me.
I have a full time job and work shifts so can't play everyday but it's still fun to contribute to the bigger effort in some way for the time I do get to log in.

Clean the gunk out of the mouse!
-
Only had the last two parts to go, from the Flashpoints. All reset back to the beginning.
Put in a ticket, but don't expect they will honor it by restoring items as others have already posted they are basically saying 'too bad, so sad. Do it again'.
-
Look out, Elroy's gonna blast ya!
I would LOVE one of those! But only if it makes a PEW PEW noise that sounds the way you say it.
-
You should be fine, it may end up saying 22/12 for example, just means if you delete a toon you cant create a replacement until you purchase enough unlocks to cover. (server merge in 59 days, you wont lose anything)
Nope I already tried it tonight. Once max lvl was reached the characters don't transfer, they just stay on the original server.
-
The thing that annoys me is that I already have about 10 characters on the destination server I need to go to which means I've run out of character slots required to move my Oceanic ones and will have to delete characters or move them to a completely separate server.
Not cool.

/lickpaws for Cathar.

Remember the days when Nerds would argue vehemently about whether or not a Star Destroyer could defeat the Enterprise?
Pepperidge Farm remembers!

Options are good. Choices are good.
Switching AC for someone bored to death with what they are playing has the potential to total revitalize that players experience of the game and keep them subbed and happy.
I see nothing wrong with that.
The only real reason I see against AC switching, from a Bioware standpoint, is because it may reduce the 'want' for extra character slots. But I'm sure they could make that up with what they charge for AC switching, which won't be cheap.

I've actually been playing STO more than SWTOR since the new Romulan expansion came out. Sure there were hiccups but there always are when big updates go out. Lest we forget all the server clogs when SWTOR launched.
It is actually fun but that is because they have basically copied aspects of SWTOR. The new Romulan missions are story based and you pick up your bridge officers via those story missions.
This means that you now know who your bridge officers are, they have a background story and personality.. just like SWTOR companions.
So SWTOR is having an impact on other games.
Training Costs are a Thing of the Past
in General Discussion
Posted · Edited by Avatarless
I literally just cancelled my sub over this issue because I didn't think I was going to be able to afford to train all the skills up to 60 after already spending about 200k to get skills back that I already had before.
I blew most of my credits during the 12x XP craziness just on keeping my gear at an acceptable level.
Besides being a bad introduction to the expansion it's also an antiquated system as no other mainstream MMO had costs this ridiculous, if they even have costs at all, which most don't.
So yes, very good decision.
