  1. The main problem was not the story. It was the players. BW had planned to release 24 chapters over 2 years for KOFTE and iirc the same for KOTET. And then the content that came/still has to come after. But look and behold, the playerbase enraged, and burned down, in what became the second largest unsub crisis in SWTOR's then short history. With mass hysteria all over, half the playerbase quit (and BW betrayed the remaining half when they released HK-55 for free a few years later. Exclusive my a s s). Why? Because the players felt that 24 chapters over 2 years, aka 30 mins of content each month, was too little too late. And then 24 chapters more over the next 2 yeaars. And what did BW do? They screwed them self over by butchering the story into what we have now, to be able to release the chapters faster. Result: The story feels half baked. And we will actually never get to see what BW actually wanted to do with it, as it can not be salvaged any more. That train went chuu chuu long ago. And the playerbase? RARRGH, BW "Censored out" UP, IT IS BAD. IT SMELLS.... See the irony here??
  2. You dug up a one month plus old thread, just to let the world know that you can not recognice a joke, even when you read AND quote it?? If I had been even remotely serious, do you think I would have linked JackieKo in on it, clue, letting her know off the bat?? Or do you think I linked her as a hint to OP?? Just to quote me? Really? As an aside, I made the post into a comedy post, considdering that OP is one of the players/subscribers who has been using the forum longest, still subbed, and really should know better than posting in "new Player" forum about this....
  3. If they can make 3 levels for all the Zakuul stories, surely they can make a 1.0 mode for "origin story". Details: Fix the codex. There are more than 100 bugged codex entries in the game. Some like the Phobis Devises still takes up "space" in the codex, preventing me from completing Kaas. Exept CM crystals. I cant see BW kill their sacred lamp. While I do complete low-level planet dailies, and that is to a degree easy, tell me how many steps it takes to get all missions back on say Makeb?? You even need to visit fleet. Can be done of course, but I would rather not, and if I took up the missions that close to the server reset, I most likely knew what I did anyway.
  4. Problem is, tech frags are about as useful as sun lotion at the bottom of the ocean. You cant really buy any gear with them.
  5. Changing from 50 to 70 makes little difference. Remove all flashpoints from "origin story", that is up till and including Lost Island from the end-game selections. That, or make 2 groupfinders. The point I have is to get all level 70 to 80 away from any story content they can ruin for lower leveled players.
  6. It solves the whole reason for the topic in this tread to even exist. Mostly because then the end-game gearing will have to be done in what IS endgame flashpoints (70-80). Not lowbie and midtier (10-70), where they bother all new players endlessly, and makes topics on this forum about how they want newbies to alt+f4 and remove swtor from their pc.
  7. He NEVER said he would move on. He said he plays SWTOR much less than he wants to, and that he instead plays other games to pass the time (from when he caps to next week).
  8. I could not care less about credits. I want useful currencies to the gearing process.
  9. I dont get it. If you dont want to play the game's content, then why play?? I play chess. I cant say to my opponent; Lets start from this position (of course I am winning) because I cant be arsed to play the opening.
  10. A little friendly correction; Cannons dont go boom, they say boom. Projectiles go boom...😜 On topic. I think BW would/could help the situation by limiting acces to all flashpoints by introducing "Origin" levels as high end for entry. So that no one above lvl 50 can enter anything earlier/lower than "Lost Island".
  11. I still say go back to 1.0 era gearing system. 2 lines, pvp and pve, easy progress, each line had 3 tiers of gear. Easy.
  12. Tech frags are about as useful as a sandbag in Sahara. You can have all those I already have, and also those I dont care about when capped.
  13. I have recently made a suggestion (one among 20) to raise all currency limits to 99999. But it is not only reaching the current ridiculously low limits that is the problem. Also not being able to convert one type of currency to another is troublesome. I stopped playing PvP like 3 years ago and will never return (well, never say never, but the present attitude amongst the players.... nah) so it is annoying to see PvP currency in my inventory that I cant convert, in a, say, 3-1 ratio to ops tokens. That would also be nice.
  14. I use it to prove a point. What you think it means does not really matter to my point. He signed up for testing 6 months before launch. But that was not the point. The point was, you assumed that he did not have a point, but just mocked new players. When in fact the first half of this quote combined with the assumption you made in the second part, misses that he had a point. He never said he was good or anything, he just complained about the influx of new players who use the Datacron to get to 80, and hence misses out on what little learning it gives to at least level the "normal" way. I only pointed out by having a joke on your expense, that fact. But I guess even that missed the mark. What will it take to make you see his simple point??
  15. They give the same amount of credits and EXP. From beginner planets (for your guardian it is Tython) up to and including Taris repside (Balmorra Impside), and then take the Balmorra missions, as these are easier and faster than Nar Shaddaa, Alderaan and Tatooine, and if you do them including their bonus missions, you are level 80 by the end of the run.
  16. Dont buy a token for 1 effign level. Do as I told you in the other thread.... Play heroic missions.
  17. I have been pointing this out since like forever. There are too many "legendary" players running around who began playing after the game became easymode, who dont know even the basics of their class, even less other classes. Because 1) the game content has (had) become too easy with x12 exp, 2) companions being one size fits all, meaning they never had to learn cc and coping with dps companions in tight fights and 3) same companions became soo op that they plays the game for the player, and 4) levelsync not working.
  18. No. The main problem is that group finder is designed as it is. Or that it is even a thing in the first place because of the reward it gives to check everything. And that players are constantly getting 12 times XP to overlevel the treshold for the "original" Esseles and Black Talon. If BW re-designed the whole GF thing to only take players on the right levels (e.g. 10-15 to Esseles and Black Talon, lvl 15-18 for Spammer Station, level 20-24 for Athiss, ect. ect. up to level 47 for Directive 7 and level 50 for Kaon Under Siege and Lost Island) it would keep higher level players away from the "story relevant" flashpoints. That would help a great deal. Then the new players can enjoy them as the group content it was designed to be so they can learn to play group content before endgame, without level 80 "legends" who dont know their class screaming down their necks. Then the level 80ies can have speed runs HM Spammer Station all day long for all they wont and yell spacebar spacebar at each other to their tongues fall off.
  19. To be fair... If you are not level 50-55 by the time you are hitting Quesh, you are doing something wrong anyway. Lets just remember what level Quesh was originally designed for, and then tell me how the level restriction ever comes into play ??
  20. 1) Did you wear the original gear piece? If you did, the new piece would be equipped to you immediately instead of going to your inventory. That is, the upgrade vendor. 2) The basic 324 vendor, at who you also upgrade to 326 at, has both what you have and the upgrade piece. If you by accident looked at the upgrade piece but ended up buying what you already had, it is lost money.
  21. Having to update every time I log in - Bug Reports - SWTOR | Forums Is what is going on.
  22. That went out the window when BW re-worked companions to one-size fits it all. When you no longer had to be a melee class with a dps companion until you got your healer. Because when that came around there was no longer any need for players to use any kind of crowd control to keep mobs at bay. Combine that with the constant X12 XP rate, and players are now so over leveled that enemies cant touch them. Not only that, but the other change made to companions that made them OP as "beep" largely made any fights a redundant waste of the players time. BW could just as well remove all red npc's from the game and let the player run from a to b uninterrupted. The companions does all the work anyway. The fact that they tried to make level sync to combat the over leveling has failed utterly, as now my droid kills the Emperor before I even get the first attack in. A level 17 (technically 50, but BW screwed that up utterly) end Boss for a level 70-80 player with a level 20+ companion... Sad.
