  1. I heard that back in the day ancient games would make you corpse run to revive or even send you back to town without the option of reviving on the spot. Such an archaic design was abolished because it was OH SO aggravating. Oh wait.
  2. "Maintenance." Almost every AAA MMO has weekly maintenance. I wasn't aware it was synonymous with patching.
  3. I couldn't figure out a way to describe my topic without going into depth so I suppose the title will have to do. I've played through a Sith Warrior and Bounty Hunter and was thinking about starting another character. I was curious as to which companions actually have missions attached to them. Vette and Mako both had unique stories where you go across the galaxy helping them while Jaesa was limited to cutscenes. Are these stories unique to the first companion you receive? I was thinking about rolling a Jedi Counsular, but I really just can't find myself wanting to do all Qyzen's missions.
  4. @OP: I have no problem with people wanting LS Jaesa romance. In your post you say want it for your companion to match with your LS personality. Well, guess what? It doesn't make sense story-wise to tell her to stick to her beliefs and then try to get intimate with her. You turned her to the dark side so she could change the Empire from within, but you also said she should stick to the morals instilled in her by the Jedi Order.
  5. Then I wouldn't be playing. I'm enjoying the game so ha ha. Simple as that. I like playing with my friends.
  6. @WAter: Even with Barrage procs Unload is not a number one priority. You should never have to use it back to back to back. And yes, throw in some heatless attacks. That's why I said to stay under 50. Under 40ish if you don't have your Vent Heat off CD. Arsenal is really straight forward. Outside of PvP you only use a handful of skills.
  7. Rift is still kicking. Hell, FFXIV is still kicking. I'll just go ahead and say it: You're wrong. Bye bye now.
  8. Tracer Missile>Power Shot at all levels as it reduces armor, costs the same, and actually does the same damage. Not to mention talents early on make better use of it. 50 Rotation (more of a priority system than rotation) Single Target: 5 stacks of Tracer Lock Rail Shot Heatseeker Missiles Unload (only after a Barrage proc) Tracer Missile Unload (no proc it's useless/do not use) At your current level it's just Tracer Missile spam. Always keep your heat at manageable levels or it'll just build faster. Even when bursting try not to go over 50 heat.
  9. Since WoW is such the digital God everyone on these forums view it as, I guess their timer is bad too. Oh, AND you have to run back to your body.
  10. I don't know. Obi-Juan is actually pretty funny if the guy playing is Hispanic. No excuse for Revan and the fact ASCII never looks good and usually means the name is reserved by the game or someone else was creative before you.
  11. Travel and travel time between quests is my largest gripe as well. After a chapter it's go back to Dromund Kaas, talk for two minutes, go to another planet for one quest, complete said quest, return to Dromund Kaas, finally continue. That's nearly an hour of just traveling to hear five minutes of dialogue and less than a minute of killing. I won't drop this game for anything, but this still needs to change. I understand why you're leaving. Though you yourself say it's small, it really is a pain that keeps on hurting.
  12. New strategy: Make bad games. /sarcasm Seriously. Blizzard is still releasing other games. Heck, NCSOFT is publishing other MMO's. They're not hurting.
  13. 1/6 specs use Tracer Missile. Sky=Falling
  14. Except for the fact it says once it's chosen it cannot be changed. The naming rules are the same as when you're creating a character. Shocking. I don't even care if they allow legacy name changes. I hope they make it paid though so people will actually take the 10 seconds to read 5 lines or do a little research. You people are the kids in class that raise their hand for the teacher's help every 5 minutes, punish everyone else who understands the content, and doesn't bother looking down at your book to at least TRY and figure it out for yourself. My first reaction when that screen popped up was, "What's a legacy name?" not, "I think I can put something stupid in here."
  15. Confirmed an out of game combat log? Good enough for me. One thing that would be nice is to track CC breakers though.
  16. Since when did questing become a grind? I guess WoW is an endless grind too? Little kiddies need to go try playing an Eastern MMO where you can't level from quests, dungeons, or PvP and 90% of your leveling comes from killing the same mob over and over.
  17. There were 107 people on Dromund Kaas/Empire when the server maintenance was announced last night at 11:45 PST. Time zones. Some servers are probably dead during that 350,000 while some are probably around 5,000. I hate to break it to you doomsayers, but WoW has some servers capped at 5,000 and they've been doing just fine. Kil'Jaeden US of course has over 40,000, but for a brand new game, so what?
  18. I loved WoW. It's still not a terrible game. It's just dated. There's nothing revolutionary about the game other than it mainstreamed MMO's like you said. It's taken things from other games and had some good execution, but it's not like they really went out on a ledge with anything. This thread is worthless.
  19. +1 for getting serious replies. As other have said: New favorite thread.
  20. I hate to rub it in, but I haven't experienced this at all. In flashpoints people seem to have no problem explaining fights. While solo questing people will notice I don't have (x) buff and throw it my way. I have yet to have an issue grouping for heroic quests and getting competent players. Obviously not a great solution, but maybe try a new server. Sounds like yours is full of fail. The world isn't out to get you. I'm sure there's many servers like yours, but it wouldn't hurt to try some out. Good luck to you.
  21. Not really. Most skills are spec specific. People just need to learn to play their class and quit face mashing every skill they get. Like a prior poster said though, I wish there were more skills later on. I was really excited when it didn't turn out like WoW for the first 10 levels where you're stuck spamming the same 2 skills.
  22. Obviously you never played a Paladin Pre-Cataclysm in WoW. I was using five bars and 90% of those skills were used in every PvP match. Even a threat reduction skill had a glyph to reduce damage done from enemies. I'm not quite sure which class you're playing, but two bars and a side bar for out of combat skills really doesn't seem that bad. To each his own, but I personally hate the combo system. It locks you into a rotation and makes you very predictable in PvP. So far I like the synergy skills have with talents and what not without being forced to press 1-2-3 or 1-2-4. Edit: There's also a lot of skills that don't see use based on your desired spec. Make sure you're not just throwing every skill on your bar and check your rotation/priority skill system. Example being the Power Shot is replaced by Tracer Missile for Arsenal spec'd Mercenaries.
