  1. **Puts on rose-tinted glasses** I'll never forget playing on a team pvp server when 3 huge guilds of dwarves, gnomes, halflings and such were raiding the dark elf city of Neriak. They were in the 3rd portion of the city, having cleared the other parts successfully. Suddenly, a 12 year old n00b lvl 9 dark elf wizard (me), unhappy that his city was being plundered, ran to the warrior guild master and shot him with a spell and ran straight at the raid. I trained an extremely powerful NPC at a group of around 60 people (all lvl 50's) who were sitting, resting, buffing, and preparing for the next part of their raid, killing every single one of them. The guild master sat at the zone entrance killing anyone who tried to come back in for hours. Chat read like this: "WHOEVER THE **** DID THAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET BANNED YOU MOTHER******** SONOFA ******* etc etc ... " My friend and I laughed so hard we cried, immediately deleted that character for fear of getting banned, and then came back as a lvl 1 and asked what had happened rofl. Cracks me up just thinking about it. Keep in mind that even 60 endgame players had NO CHANCE of getting back into the city to get their gear back. PRICELESS MMO MOMENT, buncha endgamers owned by a kid.
  2. I hope you can make the MMO equivalent to the shining city on the hill ... so everyone can flame the heck out of it on the forums I kid, I kid. Good luck to ya though, hope one day I'm pwning noobs in the world you create.
  3. 1. Love Star Wars 2. Love MMORPG's 3. Love Bioware 4. Got bored with WoW after Lich King I haven't enjoyed a game this much in ages TBH. I've been playing MMO's since EQ (love that game with my rose tinted glasses on) and SWTOR blows every MMO out of the water for me. If you have a few buddies who have jobs / lives (aka don't play MMO's like it's their job) it's basically the most awesome CO-OP game ever created.
  4. OP you have the IQ of a soil sample. You keep going on about Bioware ignoring innovations from previous MMO's but you don't cite a single example. I've been playing MMO's for over a decade and I haven't enjoyed an online game this much since the original EQ. If only stupid people were smart enough to realize that they are in fact, stupid.
  5. Funny story ... my friend joined WoW 2 months after one of the xpacs came out. The game had been out for over 5 years, yet somehow he managed to level to cap, gear up, dominate the auction house, and raid at the current tier of the time. How did he do that? Those people had been playing for 5 years longer than him! Mind blowing, right?
  6. I really wish you would. No, I'm not kidding. Please do it. Everyone has been so enjoyable and laid back all day / night during the 1st wave. Unfortunately, all of you mega-angry nerds are going to come and screw that up like you always do. So please, I beg you to go through with the boycott.
  7. I think there was a joke about a rag or something maybe that's why. Either way, I agree.
  8. Apparently people that got in on the first day of early access are the pleasant people. I've played all night and everyone has been polite ... answering questions, grouping up, helping that one random guy form his guild for no profit. I kind of wish it would stay this way. Please don't bring your annoying negativity into the game when you get in ... it's been so relaxing just chatting with folks without seeing a single "umadbro" or anything completely stupid along those lines. Thanks.
  9. I pretty much am exactly the same way. MMO hopper, liked WoW but not RIFT, really excited about TOR. For me, I am unable to judge games by looking at their individual parts. I know I like a game when I walk away from it and I have this feeling of pure satisfaction that I can't explain. I call it the X-Factor. I think good games are a culmination of their parts and must be looked at objectively, not compared side by side with everything else you've played. I don't watch movies and think "Hmm, that was pretty good but next to (my favorite movie) it was just ok." Also, to the angry people ... I'm still not in, I was playing a friends account just trying to decide which class to play. I'm still waiting too ... it's just that, unlike many of you I actually understand what a staggered early access means, and am being patient while I wait my turn (you know, like, an adult) We've waited years, we can wait a few more days, it's worth it. The only reason why you're so upset is because you really can't wait to play the game. I can't wait either but I'm not going to let it ruin my life. Cheer up.
  10. It sure is. I have a feeling that many others will feel the same way. I'm unbiased, I don't follow the industry much, I just like good games. This is a good game
  11. Hello, I've been playing TOR all night on my room mate's computer (he's asleep and I didn't get in yet) and I just had to come here to say how much I'm enjoying the game. I'm a lvl 11 Imperial Agent (operative) and I just finished the first flashpoint. I wasn't sure what to expect but I jumped in with a Sith Juggernaut who knew what he was doing (he said he'd played several of the betas) and I had an absolute blast! The way the story sets up the flashpoint itself, and then continues to connect each encounter is so much more powerful than I had anticipated. I really got immersed in the run and time flew by as we fought our way through the ship. (talking smack to bosses before you beat them up rocks too btw) At one point (the second boss I think, a droid that does machine gun blasts) The Juggernaut went down and I soloed it from about 20% up all the way down by healing myself and LOS'ing it when it unloaded it's main attack. I had 1% hp left when I killed it and we both cheered, I couldn't believe I survived Anyways, as a veteran of 10 or so MMO's dating back to EQ, and a huge fan of PVE group content, I can say that without a shadow of a doubt that TOR got it right. I've never enjoyed a "dungeon run" more in my gaming life, and it was just the first one, with two players. By the end of the run I felt that the Juggernaut was a real person, the dialogue is great and really brings other people's characters to life. I can't wait to see more of the group content and I really can't wait to start building my own character (hope I get in later today!) So for those of you who didn't watch many gameplay videos, or are eager to start playing ... take it from a vet ... if you're anything like me, you are going to LOVE this game! (There's not much point to the thread other than me needing to express my excitement, see ya in space!)
