Why do developers let PVP mess up PVE?

You do realize that in Warcraft, you had copper, silver, then gold pieces. Here we just have credits. By the WOW system, you needed 100 copper to make a silver, 100 silver to make a gold. So in that case, 10,000 SWTOR credits are equivalent to 1 gold. Repairs aren't that expensive.

Only Orange items or ones with an open socket are modifiable, and the the item modify stations serve no purpose except for the quest to go to one on your starter planet. There must have been a use for them in early beta, but they are pretty much useless now. Long story short if you look at an item and it either doesn't already contain a mod, or have a slot listed as open, it's not modifiable.

I find the skills vendor mats are much easier to just buy and not farm yourself, the return on having your crew farm them is not worth the cost.

Does your character get more powerful as it levels up? Does better gear help you do more damage healing? The answer to both is yes, and leveling up and better gear improves your stats, so yes, stats are real.

Orange isn't actually better than Purple, it's just different. Orange items can be continually upgraded by mods, where a purple just has built in stats. I read a post by the mods about orange, that originally they were meant to be copper, with silver and gold above them, but then they changed the system. I'm still using my Orange Lightsaber I got from the quest, as mods make it better than the greens I'm come across. I'm thinking if I find a nice blue or Purple I throw in in the bank just in case it's eventually better, but I can't see it lasting forever.
